Question Franco Kernel Manager - Google Pixel 6 Pro

I recently got Franco Kernel Manager and was messing around with the settings and I was trying to reduce the CPU clock speeds on the device and turn off one of the Cortex-X1 cores, but the device keeps resetting the clock speeds and turns on all the cores. The governor profiles do stick, but I'm wondering if anyone knows how to fix this? Also my Components Estimated Power Use is completely empty, how to fix that as well. Thanks!

Those settings get overwritten by the power-hal and other functions in the framework. You can't change them via a kernel manager.

You can on some device/kernels but mainly older ones.

Just because FKM hasn't been updated in a while doesn't mean it doesn't work... I just used it to flash a custom kernel on cheetah, I've used it on kebab as well. I like EXKM too but they basically have feature parity? I own both but prefer the more minimalistic look of FKM. No kernel manager will keep the frequencies you change. Please re-read this post:

Yeah but when will it become obsolete and won't work with the latest Android devices? I am aware that I cannot change the frequencies of the CPU and other things but at least getting EXKM will actively support the latest Android versions and devices

overclocking epic 4g

What is the safest speed you can overclock the samsung epic 4g? I am using the Tegrak overclock right now, and I found out the ultimate can run up to 2ghz.
That doesn't work. You have to be using a custom kernel to overclock the Epic and it is only safe up to 1.4ghz.

FYI, complete newb to this stuff, so please bear with me. Are you saying that it takes a custom kernal for the Tegrak Ulitimate, or the the version I have right now? With the Tegrak Overclock, I put it at 1.3 and it seems noticably faster.
Tegrak ultimate shouldn't work at all, and you're lucky it didn't royally screw up your phone without a kernel with support for overclocking. Look in development and select a custom kernel to fit your tastes then download either SetCPU or OverClock widget and use one of them to raise the clock speed on your phone. I recommend either of those because they are tried and tested methods.

Weird, on the android market it says that it (the standard Tegrak) works with stock kernels, custom kernels, and custom roms. I checked before installing it and I just double checked it now
For the record, it has been a while since I played with my phone, but it's kernel right now is 2.6.32.9

Another thought; I've had setcpu for a while, but didn't find much use for it as the phone is already operating at 1GHZ, which is the max SetCPU will allow the phone to work.
Because there isn't a kernel that support OverClocking installed.Once you have an overclock-compatible kernel installed SetCPU can raise the CPU speed.

I see. Thanks for the info
Also, while tegrak may work I strongly recommend a custom kernel for added stability, along with overclock capabilities up to 1.4ghz (depending on if your phone can handle it) undervolting and other useful features.
Each phone is different. Some phones can handle 1.4ghz, others can't even handle 1.2ghz. You just have to test it out and see what your phone can handle.

It seemed to hand 1.3 just fine, but I still backed it down to 1.0 until I get the custom kernel for it.

Thank you
After reading the link to Twilite, I am interested in running the SyndicateROM Frozen. Any chance someone could walk me through the steps? I'm not being lazy and am doing research, just want to make sure I don't screw up my phone. I am at work right now, so I haven't even attempted to get Twilite yet. Perhaps getting the new rom would accomplish two things at once??
Edit: After some reading I think I will be ok, but if anyone wants to chime in then feel free.

I made this video and it should help you out. The twilight kernel comes with the syndicate rom so you don't need to flash it since it already comes with the rom.
Is there any truth to a post I read stating some kernels support Wifi Tether and others don't?

HTC's ****
i actually find the power saving feature more power consuming(aside from brightness and vibration), i think it causes all processors to start up at lower frequency rather than 1 cpu at high frequency.

I've got another question about this rom, is it normal that the wallpaper isn't scrolling when I scroll through the home screens?

Question. Why does my s4 keep overlooking itself?

I have a S4 mini running custom carbon kk unofficial 4.4.3 as it comes with the settings to set CPU's and governors but the phone keeps changing the min to around 1400 but the max stays at 1700.i don't notice until my battery is draining really fast or gets hot. anyone kno a fix to this?

Which governor is it using to set a min of 1400? Ever likely it gets hot and eats power! I use f4k's kernel, and the 'Performance Control' app to look at and alter stuff - you don't say what you use or have tried.
There is a Carbon 4.4.4 available with f4ktion 1.5 kernel - might be an idea to flash that and the problem might go away!

It's on every governor this happens but I use Wheatley. I would manually set it to around the 300s but in a couple of hours it would auto set at 1400 on its on. This causes my battery to drain my kernel version is 3.4.91 f4ktion 1.4.5 eur lte

Strangely enough I've settled with Wheatley too! but it spends most of its time at 162 when not in deep sleep (a bit like me!). This really needs posting in the Carbon thread so I would post a few more things here to help or comment on stuff to get to 10 posts and then ask in there. I can't think what could be causing that behaviour, if it was me it would be bye bye 4.4.3 and hello 4.4.4

Does the actual minimum change rather than it simply running continually at 1400+ and if so which governor does it change to if any!
I read somewhere in the Carbon thread someone was having similar problems so they flashed the kernel twice, one directly after the other; seems something wasn't getting written correctly the first time but was the second, and the problem went away. Worth a go...

I found this : Q: CPU/GPU frequency doesn't stick?
A: If your frequency settings don’t stick, it's because on certain Qualcomm or JB and higher devices, there are certain system services (thermald/mpdecision/project butter) or kernel feature that rewrite frequency settings based on current thermal status and/or touch input. Certain custom kernels for your device should include work around for these issues.
Is this a fix?

It could help. Trickster is good. However, this suggests that there is something else causing or forcing the frequency setting to be changed. The question is what? and I've no idea:crying:
Haha I found the problem it was either this battery saver app or I changed to scheduler to anything besides row

Thats good. It was probably the battery saver because they usually do the opposite!

Underclocked CPU values stay persistent

Hi there,
A while back, I decided to underclock the CPU on my rooted OnePlus 3 (A3003). Can't remember which app I used to do so, but I set the max freq. on my big cores to 1324 MHz, and on my little cores to 1036 MHz, which really helped with battery life.
Lately though, I felt the need of a bit more juice from the CPUs, so I tried bumping the frequencies up a little, using Kernel Auditor on RR-OS v5.8.4. However, the settings don't seem to save... 30 seconds after I bump them up, they revert back to the original underclocked values I have been using. Changing the CPU Governor works, as well as underclocking the CPU even lower; these settings remain saved. Disabling cores also works.
Does any of you have any suggestions? Has anyone encountered this as well?
Cheers.

Could be a bug. But I really do not recommend to underclock or disable any cores. Perhaps reset the app that set those values and do a reboot.

Do you mean reset Kernel Auditor ? I did the tweaks a while ago, I even switched a bunch of ROMs in the meanwhile. RR-OS doesn't come with a performance app, I had to get Kernel Auditor off the store, that came already reset, right?
I also tried changing the clock speeds with 3C CPU Manager, but the values jump back (as seen in the video posted).
You should follow mega unbrick guide method 2

Mostly, recovery with backup turns you to same problem.
Better way is to backup the app data using root backups like
Oandbackup from f-droid,
Or titanium backup
Then, keep it safe on desktop and start method 2.
In this way, you may preserve data for required apps.
However, some apps may misbehave if you change from one ROM to another.

So you advise me against TWRP? I would've done separate backups for system, app data, etc. in case something goes wrong.

Don't think otherwise.. just go to service centre, submit it stating that you have a malfunctioning motherboard.
I had exactly the same issue, this can't be resolved no matter what. So, I did the same.
Install Oneplus recovery and OOS and go to service centre. Tell them that your phone is not working as expected. Games are lagging and all apps are lagging. They will deny at first. You have to try to call the online team.
This is what I've done.
You can find my post
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/help/oneplus3-hanging-lagging-doesnt-respond-t3617057
Finally, they will change your motherboard and problem is solved.
The problem is in Motherboard.
Read it until last post.
Don't ever tell that you have rooted the phone. They keep on denying that your phone's warranty is gone, etc. So don't tell anything about root, under-clocking

So the thing is - I know nothing about kernels! Have never flashed them, don't really know what they do, so I've always kept stock. Any ideas where to begin to understand more about them (besides digging through the forums)?
I see Blackbox and Kirks cited a lot. How would those compare to Insigniux?
Also, I'm on stock Global MIUI (rooted of course), and want to stay on that for a while, but later am planning to go to LOS (or maybe another custom ROM). Would I need to change kernel in that case?
Thanks for your help, btw!

they are all different.. i first flashed balckbox but didnt have many extra options seemed like a stock kernel.. then kirks had more options and i just started using insigniux.. many have claimed that it gives better battery life and its fast..
you can change many things in kernel.. if you want more battery then theres options to make go easy battery but will suffer from performance and speed. then theres ways to gain a bit of battery and keep performance.. and of course performance...
like change governors.. this will change cpu frequencies some are more tamed other agressive.. ect.
