Hi guys. I have a question. My mom will go to china, what if I ask her to get one ONEPLUS 11 from China. Is it working good in U.S? anything issues? Should I install U.S version? How?
yes, it will work perfectly but , it must be activated in china firstly ,or u will get an area locked phone.
or～go find an OPPO store if u can , they can unlock it.
the china version os didn't have full function Google services,i think its better to install the oxygen os.

I prefer to install the oxygen OS, cause that OS works well in U.S. but is it still have area lock after install the oxygen OS? I think before doesn't have this issue, is it just start this year?

afraid that's not enough because app's like android auto would run only if it was installed as system app.

If you buy a phone from a Chinese seller with a color OS, you may have the surprise of a blocked phone when you activate it outside of China.
But now there are external versions with Oxygen unlocked

as i know it cannot be done online. I also don't know what will happen if u flash an oxygen os into it when it's unactivated.
if I was planning to do what ur going to, I will chose to go to the OPPO store.

You should activate the phone first or you will get a region lock; A lot of things don't work in ColorOS, like android auto etc.; if you convert it to OxygenOS, there are a lot of headaches also.

I was just curious to know if any dev is working on galaxy c5(SM-C5000)
because finally it has working twrp and a working rooting method
I tried myself for a Grace Ux port and I almost got all apps working except for the settings and the system ui.
I know this will be very easy for a seasoned developer because we have a proper TW MM base.
Any help would be appreciated!

yes after flashing gapps and rooting chinese frimware you have to flash the chinese bootloader again for wifi to work

Well I tried this method and it worked always I don't know why it gives u a boot loop!

My brother has this phone, were from Romania. He's using it on Vodafone and there is no problem. There are 2 firmwares for this phone: China and Hong Kong. There is no european or some other firmware. The phone was bought with Chinese firmware but without Google Play services and to install them nothing worked unless flashing through custom recovery which I wanted to avoid. The HK firmware has Play Store in it and it's working without problems. He's satisfied with it. Most probably will work in Poland as well.

I definately would flash this phone to smth custom, like CM or LineageOS, I hate touchwiz (I have now a3 2016) and my phone has such a potential but can't feel it without breaking out from touchwiz :/
I want to buy the mate 20X. Since I live in USA can I install android 10 on it? If I .have problems installing it in USA, are there other ways of installing it?
My dad's Hong Kong unit still hasn't received Android 10/EMUI 10 despite changing the region in HiCare to other countries. YMMV.
I have the l29 model in south carolina and am running emui android 10 no problems

GO to support app (new name ) then chnge to china try or EU and check for updates

Don't you also need to use a VPN to connect to a server of said country? Worked for me months ago but not sure if that was down to my vpn or not.

Now that you mentioned that I should try that. I know with my OnePlus I use to do that in order to get updates quicker.

I've hestd about that too. Someone mentioned using a foreign sim. But I think you should use both sim and vpn to ensure the update goes through. Its cat and mouse with huawei. Can't understand how they're the #2 handset maker in the world with all these issues and unnecessary mistakes.
I live in the USA and used the Huawei HiSuite app on my computer to update my Mate 20x to Android 10.

HiSuite never shows any updates on my end. Did you manually point it to a file or did it automatically find and download it?

I automatically installed the latest update. The weird thing is I own two Mate 20X and the other will not update. I can't figure it out. I have tried everything I know to do.
