Question How to flash Miui 14 for mi pad 5? - Xiaomi Mi Pad 5

How to flash miui14 Chinese dev recovery rom in mipad 5
?

1. You download the CN Stable dev build from here
2. A. It's a recovery ROM zip, so you can only directly flash it in MIUI Updater, or MIUI Stock Recovery, if you are already on the same branch (CN Stable dev)
2. B. otherwise (you are on a different ROM variant, like Global or Stable non-dev) you have to unlock your tablet and then flash the recovery ROM zip via custom recovery (TWRP) or flash a fastboot ROM (which is not the same as the zip above) and flash it via MiFlash Tool, or adb from a computer.

Am in stable indian rom
Cant update through miui updater ?
Because last time changing China fastboot rom my device got bricked
Any other possible way ?

WARNING: If you don't know how this stuff works, I recommend not to do it. This will install CN Stable Dev ROM, only English and Chinese will be available. Mi Flash gives an error but the Tablet reboots and MIUI 14 CN will be properly flashed without losing user-data. But to be sure, make a backup and learn how to fix a soft-bricked device BEFORE you start. If you soft-brick, don't ask questions here but google and learn through youtube tutorials.
unlock your device. Apply here
download the latest MIUI 14 chinese stable dev fastboot tgz file
extract the tgz with winRAR or 7zip into a folder
download and extract Mi Flash Tool into another folder
run XiaoMiFlash.exe inside the extracted Mi Flash Tool folder
Install the drivers when asked inside the Mi Flash Tool, if it gives an error then install the driver manually
Turn off your Mi Tab 5, then reboot it by pressing POWER + VOLUME UP until the Fastboot screen appears
Connect your Mi Tab 5 to your computer via USB.
Click the "refresh" button in Mi Flash Tool. In the table below the "select" button a new row should appear with an id and device. If not you have a USB driver problem, cable problem, your tablet is not in fastboot mode or other issue. Use google to fix your problem or watch a youtube video to learn how to do it.
in Mi Flash Tool click the "select" button and navigate to the folder where you extracted the tgz file, click OK. (Make sure you navigate and select the "nabu_images_V14.0.22.12.21.DEV_13.0" folder, and not the one inside it called "images")
At the bottom of Mi Flash Tool select "Save user data"and in the drop down next to it select "Flash all except storage"
Click the "flash" button in Mi Flash Tool and wait until it's done.

[TIPS] Tips to use vince properly

this thread is based on my opinion and experience while using vince
Clean Flash to Flash Custom Rom
you can use this method with clean flash method. for me, this is best to do if you want to flash to different android rom version.
steps :
- backup your file (ROM, gapps, etc) to pc or SD Card (external storage)
- reboot phone to fastboot mode, and plug phone with usb to pc
- open xiaomi flash tool, on bottom right, choose clean all (not clean and lock)
- use select button and select the extracted archive of downloaded fastboot images folder
- press refresh button, and your vince should be detected
- press flash, and wait patiently
- after the xiaomi flash tool done flashing, your vince will reboot twice, on second reboot, you go to fastboot mode again.
- use the recovery flasher the file is on bottom of this post (just execute the bat file)
- your phone will reboot to recovery, format data, then wipe all
- flash last updated firmware
- flash the desired rom
if you want to flash to different custom rom, but its same android version, you can just
- wipe all
- flash last updated firmware
- flash desired rom
cause flash to fastboot rom is overkill
Common way to flash custom rom
this is how im flash custom rom. well its not a best choice, but its okay for using my vince as daily driver
ordered step
- clean flash (dirty flash its okay, but im rarely dirtyflash)
- flash last updated firmware
- flash rom
- flash opengapps nano
- flash magisk (lastest stable)
- flash custom kernel (some rom dont have lastest kernel)
Easy way to flash recovery
so i make a simple bat to flash recovery if you are from fastboot rom.
how to use
- reboot to fastboot mode
- plug phone to pc
- double click the bat file and follow the instruction there

Easiest Way to Install MiUI 11 (Clean) on Redmi Note 5 India/ Redmi 5 Plus (Vince).

I installed a Pixel Experience (Android 10) on my unlocked Redmi Note 5 India / Redmi 5 Plus (Vince) (Here on I'll refer to the device on Vince). Volte and data didn't work, and the call quality was pretty bad, so I decided to go back to the official MIUI and the Mi recovery.
This guide basically explains the easiest way to go back MIUI. Assuming your phone is unlocked. I'm adding direct download links to MIUI and other Mi tools because they are blocked in India.

Link 9: This is not a direct link download Orangefox recovery tool from the page Orangefox Recovery(zip file)[orangefox<dot>download/en/device/vince]
Steps:
1. Download MIUI Unlock tool(Link 8) and extract it. Open cmd prompt inside the folder.
2. Switch your phone to fastboot mode (power + volume down). Connect it to your PC.
3. The device should show up when you enter "fastboot devices" in cmd.
4. Download TWRP (Link 7). extract it, rename it to "twrp.img" copy the image and copy it to the MIUI unlock tool. Now run "fastboot boot twrp.img". This should automatically take you to TWRP.
5. Now wipe everything. If you are not able to mount "data". Go to "Wipe", "Advanced", "Repair" then change the format of the data to exFat, then to FAT then to Ext4. This should mount data.
6. You should see your phone on your PC, if not mount USB in TWRP. Download orangefox recovery from Link 9. Copy it and flash it from twrp. Your phone will restart. Go to recovery mode and you should see orangefox.
7. Download fastboot ROM from Link 2. Unzip it copy "persist.img" from the folder to your phone, flash it using orangefox.
8. Download MiFlash tool from Link 5. Extract it and run it. Select the folder where you extracted fastboot ROM. MAKE SURE THAT THE PATH DOESN'T HAVE ANY SPACES OR FLASHING WILL FAIL. Now hit refresh on flash tool. It will show your device, at the bottom there is a selection where you can select the script to be executed. I generally select flash_all.bat, you can select flash_all_lock.bat for a locked OS.
It might show you "error:Not catch checkpoint (\$fastboot -s .*lock),flash is not done", but your phone will boot properly, it will show a success message only if you choose lock option bat. But this error shouldn't affect the installation.
9. Restart your phone, everything should work properly.
Good luck!
Thank you.
What to do with the link 1 file the ROM file ? Can I directly flash it in twrp ??
thanks bro
That answered all my questions, and i don't know why but all the other mi flash tool found on the web didnt work but this one is just perfect. Thank you so much bro !!! you really simplified my life

Question Need to flash Xiaomi.eu rom on Mi 11x

Hi. It has been almost 7 years since i have flashed any rom. I wanted easy way to flash xiaomi eu in Mi 11x, indian variant.
In this thread - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/did-anyone-installed-xiaomi-eu-on-mi-11x.4276167/
it was said that you can flash fastboot rom by renaming alioth to aliothin in 'windows_fastboot_first_install_with_data_format.bat' file. This methods feels way more easy than flashing TWRP.
Nowadays many users here and on youtube are flashing roms with recovery using TWRP. Is there any reason to use TWRP method instead of fastboot method. It seems TWRP method uses more custom things having higher chances of bricking the phone. in fastboot we are using default MIUI fastboot making it safer. Anyone experienced in flashing what would be the easiest way to flash EU Rom in Mi 11x (indian variant?
Hi there,
different roms have different methods of flashing nowadays, and especially for our device.
Fastboot flashing is incredibly easy. Just boot into fastboot and run the windows_fastboot_first_install_with_data_format.bat
which will be extracted with the rom.
before you do this please make sure you have unlocked the bootloader which takes 7 days to receive an unlock token from xiaomi servers.

Fastboot rom at EU is only when there isn't any TWRP available.
This said you have to go with TWRP for any update or change you need.
Last: Said less risk of hard brick with TWRP than fastboot process.
In order to install EU rom latest via TWRP it is so simply to boot TWRP in fastboot and install the rom.
Twrp will stay permanent once done.
NOTE:
Be careful to install a rom Aliothin compatible, nevertheless TWRP will stop you before going in trouble if any.

To flash xiaomi.eu the best way is to use twrp, also because the latest version is not in fastboot.
- First unlock the bootloader!
- Then disable Driver Signature Verification in Windows 10:

- Download and install miflashtool then go to the driver option and install the phone drivers (It is the program you will need if you want to return to stock safely, keep it):
Xiaomi Flash Tool - Official Mi Flash Tool
Download the latest and Official Xiaomi Flash Tool from the Official Xiaomi Flash Tool Website.
xiaomiflashtool.com
- Now you will need adb and fastboot, so download platform tool from here and put platform tool folder in c:\
SDK Platform Tools release notes | Android Studio | Android Developers
Android SDK Platform-Tools is a component for the Android SDK.
developer.android.com
- Now restart your pc.
Then follow these steps:
{To flash xiaomi.eu you must first launch twrp, then...}
1) download the twrp image from here:
[RECOVERY] [12] [OFFICIAL] TeamWin Recovery Project
Introduction: Team Win Recovery Project or TWRP for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added...
forum.xda-developers.com
2) Put the image filenametwrp.img in the platform tool folder;
3) Go to the platform tool folder, rename the filenametwrp.img to twrp.img;
4) (In the phone) make sure you have enabled usb debug in developer settings and have authorized the pc.
5) Download the xiaomi.eu rom .zip file for your mobile phone and put it in the phone memory
Xiaomi European Community | MIUI ROM Since 2010
MIUI ROM Global Language creators since 2010 providing support for Xiaomi MIUI and Mi Home products
xiaomi.eu
6) Now turn off the phone and start it in fastboot mode, then connect it to the pc via the usb cable
7) Go to the platform tool folder and in the address bar type cmd and hit enter (a prompt window should open) then type this command
Code:
fastboot devices
to check if it is recognized
8) if the phone code appears you can boot twrp by typing this
Code:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp.img
hit enter and the phone should boot into twrp
9) Now in twrp go to install and look for the .zip file of the rom you put before, then flash it.
10) When it finishes (it takes a few minutes) go back, go to the wipe section then advanced wipe and format datadata, then restart in the system. (It will remain on the miui logo for several minutes, wait, then the configuration should start.)
If you follow all the steps everything should go smoothly, but if you have any problems or questions you can ask.

Downgrade MIUI

Hello.
Is there any problem when going to downgrade MIUI on Redmi Note 8 Pro?
Thank you in advance.
No if you do right way.
Many ways to do that:
1/Lock Bootloader:
-You can search on Youtube: downgrade OTA Miui
2/Unlocked Bootloader:
Some ways:
- Put Fastboot rom in Download folder in C drive, extract it 1 or 2 times until it show folders and files inside, need no space in all folders path, use Mi flash tool (Remove checkpoint in Configuration), choose "clean_all" for not lock bootloader, connect your phone (Fastboot mode) > Refresh > Flash.
- Flash any custom roms base on your firmware (Don't flash PE or PPUI) then you can flash fastboot rom with Mi flash tool with no error (Removed checkpoint)
- Edit Flash_all.bat. You can Google it, but don't mess with it (Do stupid things can lead to bootloop or Hardbrick). Then flash with Mi Flash Tool.

i am arsh from india. i have unlocked the bootloader of my poco f4 only to flash eu rom. i have unlocked, installed twrp and then i flashed eu rom zip file. In the last step when i try to do format data, i got an error unable to mount system and it was unsuccessful. So without rebooting to system i again rebooted to twrp to perform format data and again same error appeared. later i chaged boot slot from a to b and then performed format data and then it says "no os installed". So i changed slot again to a and then i booted to system and i am able to boot into eu rom.
My Question did i perform the flash correct???
I noticed when i m using eu rom battery is draining faster than global rom...what is your opinion??

The rom you flashed is not the latest.xiaomi.eu_multi_MUNCH_V14.0.5.0.TLMCNXM_v14-13.zip
to update you must update the twrp from A12 to A13 and use the OTA.
This rom is hybrid, which means you can update it with a pc and fastboot using the update.bat script included in the extracted zip folder.
If you haven't installed all your apps, use the First install .bat file.
The procedure for a first installation with TWRP is as follows:
Twrp/format data type yes reboot Twrp(if errors ,reds lines ,start again by restarting on the Twrp at each try.
Then sideload the rom or use OTG.
Errors remaining at the end of the flash, ignore them.
Delete the lock screen security before all opérations.

tq for the reply. a few hours ago i updated the eu rom to latest version via twrp. for now everything is working. i would like to know some things.
1. imo the battery backup with eu rom is terrible compared to global stable rom. whats your view about that??
2. Are there any heating issues with eu rom 14 ?
3. can we revert to stock rom and lock bootloader?

Not having this device, I cannot answer the first 2 questions precisely but on my 12 pro(Xiaomi Eu rom) the switch to A13 was beneficial for both.(Have you just updated? Give the system time to optimize itself).
3/Use miflash (if you have an F4 and not a K40s).
