Question bricked mi 11 lite - Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 4G

Hello everyone. My phone just got bricked during update process. Only Qualcomm available. How can I fix it? Anyone has any solution? Bootloader is unlocked however no access to recovery mod or fastboot

That is called a hard brick. Download sp flash tool, and flash your device with your devices firehose if it’s available. you will need mark bypass, I found this tool online, I can not vouch for it at all, but looks about as trustworthy as the rest.
Xiaomi is known for making their device brick easy. Also, look at this post, I don’t know Xiaomi too well, so I do not know if this will effect you, or if the bypass fixes this

{Mod edit: Quoted post has been removed}
How much did they charge?

[SOLVED] PLEASE HELP - HardBricked my OnePlus 5T

Dear Community,
I just searched the past 2 days for a solution but I've not been lucky
Therefore I'd like to ask for help in this forum and hope there is some additional hint or hack I could try...:
So here's the situation:
OnePlus 5T (8/128) with a non booting or not "useful" OS (see last point what I've tried)
No TWRP or CWM
Stock Recovery present
Bootloader Locked
Allow Bootloader to be unlocked = FALSE
What I've already tried yet:
Flashing TWRP --> Not possible Bootloader Locked
Flashing regarding any other kinds like "update" or "flash all" as provided with TOOL_ALL_IN_ONE
ADB Sideload any available ROMS (Original "full" OP5T / FreedomOS / Omni8) --> ADB stops at 47% in Stock Recovery regardless of size of the ZIP file
Tried different versions of ADB (32 & 64 Bit / older & new / also with the LargeAddressAware approach / and on multiple PC's) --> Always same error (47%)
Stumbled upon the possibility to EmergencyDownload a factory flash due to Qualcomm chipset using the MSM-Download-Tool --> Only OnePlus 5 ROM available (no "T")
Mentioned EDL procedure works and OS is booting BUT neither Touchscreen nor USB OTG (for external mouse support) is working --> So I can't navigate and allow Bootloader to be unlocked again
Unfortunately I'm now stuck and have no more idea how to unbrick my phone again
What would help:
Any source to MSM-Download-Tool packed with a correct ROM for the OnePlus 5T
A Workaround to just flash TWRP via MSM-Download-Tool or Qualcomm's QFIL application in EDL mode
Some "hack" to bypass the locked Bootloader situation
Every appreciated Input you might have that I'm currently not aware of...
So PLEASE let me know of any approach that I could try or if you might have found a link or something else to a solution that might help me out of this disaster...
Many thanks in advance!
Tryouts due to your feedback:
@dreinulldrei - "fastboot boot recovery.img" tried with the original 5T Recovery.img also with blu_spark TWRP --> no luck...
SOLVED SOLUTION:
As the EDL factory flash ROM is currently not (or will never officially be) available public getting in contact with the OnePlus support team is required.
They have such a recovery tool (MSM-Download-Tool) with an appropriate ROM and are able to flash the device during a remote support session conducted via chat.
So by starting a chat on the OnePlus Support page and describing your situation will lead to scheduled time slot where a Level-2 technician will do all required steps remotely.
(All files are password protected and the technician ensures they are deleted at the end of the session so I'm unfortunately not able to provide the sources for DIY purposes...)
Following. I would think there would be some way to flash some sort of signed image via fastboot...
U flashed a 5 os to it, using the msmtool try to extract those files from 5t os, I will do it when I get home and so u can try it, i can't guarantee anything though, would u like me to do that for u

Thanks for your input - I'm really not aware of how to generate such *.ops ROM files as this is what the MSM Tool expects...
But if there is a way and you are able to extract and produce a MSM flashable file I would be very happy to try!
I would recommend trying to boot a OP5T recovery, you might have flashed some OP5 rom including OP5 recovery. Just go into fastboot (power on with volume up pressed down), then via cmd:
fastboot boot recovery.img
Since OP does not offer the recovery to be downloaded, it will need to be downloaded from a working device. Lacking the cable right where I am, but I am sure someone else can help out.

Thanks for the input - I forgot to mention I also tried the 2 original available OP5T "full" ZIP ROM's (think they should be signed...)
Will add this to the initial Post but I assume also no chance here...

Ohhh good point - I also think there is the "wrong" recovery (from 5) currently on my phone (because also there the touchscreen behaves unexpectedly...)
But unfortunately with your command I get the "Your device is corrupted. It can't be trusted and will not boot" message.
Tried this with the original 5T Recovery.img I managed to obtain and also with the blu_spark TWRP - no luck...
Edit: Ignore, misread previous post.
U may have to make a call to oneplus so they can restore for u
Submit a ticket to One Plus
You are going to have to submit a ticket, they will arrange a time to help you by unbricking the phone remotely.
I just had to do this myself this week, and it got done today.
I do have the 5t unbricking files but I cannot access the archive because it's password protected.
One important this you didn't mention is how this happened.
OnePlus may be able to help with this one, but all root guides explicitly include the phrase "at your own risk."

Thanks for all your advice - so I will arrange a support chat/ticket as soon as possible and inform about the result in this thread.
Didn't thought that OnePlus Support Team would even care about such bricks (no warranty / own risk / "playing" with root / etc...)
But as indeed they seem to help like @WMerkens experienced I would be very happy to have a working device again

don't know why you would think that OP wouldn't help...they have said from day one that unlocking/rooting does not void your warranty. Heck they encourage it. I assume you are the same person on the OP forum w/ this problem. Hopefully after you get this resolved you will have learned to NEVER EVER RELOCK your phone unless you do the whole factory image qualcomm recovery tool bit. and experienced OP folks on this forum know any claims of a "hardbricked" OP phone is ALWAYS not true.

Awwww I wish we could get them, do they use the msmtool too?
How I bricked a 5t
I got the phone and I had installed twrp, that went fine. I was looking at magick systemless rooter when the phone then kicked in with a OTA update, I chose to ignore it the first time. It occurred again a few minutes and in my haste I let it do it's job but it did not complete correctly. I rebooted and the phone complained about corruption to the OS, I got in again but made the dumb mistake of re enabling the OEM lock and because I thought that might be causing the problem. I rebooted again but now I could not boot any more into the OS, it complained I was corrupted and go to google to see what to do.
So I was left with a bricked phone.
I could do bootloader but not recovery and I could not unlock the bootloader.
I could not get in via adb usb debug, So after much research I download the OnePlus 5 unbricking pack and learned a whole lot about qualicom and EDL mode, plus I learned a lot about the QFIL tools and restoring a phone. I did the 5 unbrick but my screen ended up upside down but the touch was right side up, which resulted in a very hard to use phone.
I tried the QFIL method but I was missing a mdb file to be able to talk to the phone.
So I gave up submitted a ticket and after much bad co-ordination on their part got a level 2 tech to debrick the phone remotely.
They do a reverse VPN and connect to your computer, they tell you to have 2 files archive ready in a folder on your desktop (they supply the links). They install the EDL driver and unpack the debrick archive. The archives are password protected, they run the tool and restore the phone
back to factory.
They erase the unpacked archives after they are done.

Oh yes I've learned my lesson on this  --> Never ever set OEM to be unlocked to NO again
Obviously I do not exactly know what wrong procedure made me stuck in this situation but I just wanted to revert every single step back one by one to see which element brings me back to a valid SafetyNet situation...
I've been with the OnePlus "family" since the OP1 but never needed any direct support from the vendor - so every time there's a first time and so for me now...
Thus I really didn't know OP staff is actively doing remote support for their devices - but thumbs up for that! :good:
(BTW: I'm not the guy from the OP forum)

Yes basically it's the same archive as the 5 unbrick pack but it's for 5t, OnePlus 5T OxygenOS 4.7.2-171116.zip is the archive and you can look in it and you see the ops file is for dumpling not cheesburger, which is the code name for 5t. I saw the MsmDownloadTool is 4.0.8

I just had a chat with them before and got mailed a link to the MSMTool incl. ROM for the OP5T (dumpling)
But unfortunatley support files from OnePlus are password protected Nevertheless here the original vendor link:
https://onepluscn-my.sharepoint.com/personal/sheva_liu_oneplus_net/_layouts/15/guestaccess.aspx?docid=0fde9596c72744b4fb9c073ca5d87edbe&authkey=AQPXKRi7pdIzZX-5WH_pwWg&e=1030aa0046da4d1aa9189020027d9c93
So I have to wait for my remote support schedule on Saturday to have the L2 technician entering the password and do the rest.
Would be able to do this myself but OnePlus obviously wants to protect their sources what I have to accept, respect and be patient for...
So, never turn off the OEM Unlocking?

i guess i somewhat kinda bricked my nitrogen, please help out

So, somebody please help me. I had the chinese rom. fully updated.
I have no idea wich version it was but i belive most likely it was the last one since i got the telephone last week and updated it.
so, coming from mi max 1 and then mi max 2 i installed TWRP and booted into recovery
and tried to flash eu global rom but it came out as an error and i downloaded a few roms and tried but no sucess in flashing them and then suddenly the screen went black and i can hear it connect and it will show up in miflash but as for now i dont have the recovery files
and am downloading them at the moment.
I remember running into a similar issue on my mimax 2 or 1 and then i needed to flash it using adb and running the flash system commandoes.
But i forgot them and im sure some of you have done this so can anyone help me finding a recovery fastboot files and give me a either miflash supported file to use or adb files and then the commandoes to flash it all back?
it was something like
system flash
recovery flash
boot flash
etc
But i dont have the files for recovery fastboot
and the commandoes are lost for me.
It was like flashing in EDL mode i belive, if i can remember,
I really screwed up and since the telephone is so new its hard to find the files needed.
Thank you and please excuse my bad English.
The one getting me back ill paypal you a beer.

Which other roms did you try to install?
Latest china official roms have Anti-rollback enabled, so you have to be careful about what rom you trying to install otherwise your device will be hard bricked (if not bricked already).
If your device has bricked by anti-rollback, you need to flash in EDL mode, but EDL mode is blocked on Mi Max 3, so you need a Xiaomi EDL authorized account to flash with it.
Anyway, here is the link of the latest fastboot china stable rom http://bigota.d.miui.com/V9.6.12.0....EDCNFD_20180820.0000.00_8.1_cn_5e8d0ddf88.tgz
You can give it a try with MiFlash Tool.
My max 3 was bricked as well on Sat, no boot, no recovery, no fastboot.
You just need to download the fastboot of 8.9.20 china dev, install Qualcomm driver, then use Miflash to flash ur phone again in EDL mode. That's all.

Can you help me findig the link to dev rom?
I am really really lost..
Been at this things for 24 hours now, and i was working on my fiancees phone at the same time so after twrp my own i did his, and then of course we both have black screens now in download mode, and there is nothing i have done that
will get me back to fastboot or to twrp.
If i hold in power it just kinda restarts download mode i can hear on my computer as it make the Plug in plug out sound from the Usb.
I have already gotten a lot of ugly stare downs from my fiancee now and i really cannot afford buying two new phones and of course i shouldnt need to either as since they are in black screen download mode they can be flashed, but i need the file you sir are talking about and also if you can say wich kind of miflash you used and etc i would be very happy and im seriuous about that paypal buying you a beer and what not thing.
I am going on vacation in few days also so i desperately need the phones to work or its not gonna be any happy vacation and definetly not any "happy times" either. so please help out!!
I am also equipped with teamwiewer if necessary,
Also, i opened up my own telephone and tried shorting out the two connectors inside, "testpoint" but it didnt give any difference at all, and i am out of ideas.
And of course now it seems i have searched so long for the correct files i cant find anything any longer as im stuck.
so .- yeah. Please get me out of this mess.
this is the link of 8.9.20 (latest) dev fastboot: http://bigota.d.miui.com/8.9.20/nitrogen_images_8.9.20_20180920.0000.00_8.1_cn_7c2f993484.tgz
For MiFlash, just google "MiFlash 2018" and download the Portable version, that's enough.
For Qualcomm driver, google "QDLoader HS-USB Driver" and download/install it.
Make sure that you can enter the EDL mode, if you do it right, you will see the device as "Qualcomm 9008" (cannot remember exactly the name) and Miflash will recognize the COM port then you are good to move forward.

seems forgetting to log out of miaccount is a really dumb thing to do as i now cant flash my fiancees as his telephone is not binded to my laptop, and his is not been used before.
the miflash asked me to log in, wich was succesful but its stuck in edl autitenctation and has been now for a while.
but can i flash global rom now??
and if so, how can i do it and not brick it again?
im guessing you want more than one beer??

Xiaomi has locked the account of the other phone, you need a Mi Authorized Account, which is not easy to find and is paid of course. Don't flash Global Stable over your China Dev, unless you unlocked bootloader officially. But you have the option to flash Xiaomi.eu rom, if your bootloader is unlocked. If not - don't.

I do not really understand your current issue. A picture will be better? In case if you forgot to logout, it's ok, you just need to input the password of that account.
Anyway, you cannot flash Global stable 9.6.6 (MIUI 9) over the 8.9.20 (MIUI 10 - antirollback activated), it will brick again.

Both telephones are unlocked by the belonging miaccounts.
I have run the unlock tool on them both of course before doing the TWRP and then someplace something got messed up, not sure yet and made me in this mess.
What i have done in difference on my phone and the other is that i have opened up mine and short circuited lol almost all check points inside it and after the last link mentioned here with the rom it worked.
but im not sure if it was the testpoint trick at all as that really didnt give any information about anything changed or not.
What im trying to do here now is to somehow flash this edl phone left back to china dev without me opening it up and do the testpoint wich i have no idea helped me or not.
I can try the unlock tool again see if it recognize any phones.
all help appreciated.
Try flashing China 8.8.30 of the other phone, maybe it will skip asking for Mi authorized acc. I have red somewhere it worked .
OK-
So i can hereby confirm that TESTPOINT is working.
So if you have bricked your phone into edl mode download mode and there is NO WAY you can flash it using miflash or twrp or anything, you can open it up and unplug the battery, short cut the testpoints wich in my case was my fumbling around everyone with a wire and then
retry connecting the battery and reflash.
I also tried testpoint with battery connected. I have NO IDEA if that was the case or not.
But i managed to get back my phones, but of course i nicked one screen so im guessing im gonna need to sell this and rebuy a new one with global as to keep the housepeace intact.
So- i will try and rewrite this into something that can be sticked to the front. Including pictures.
So, if I understand correctly, without the testpoint method, MiFlash was asking you for an authorized xiaomi account but with the testpoint there is no need for authorization?

Well. Good question.
Seems like it doesn't need something else than unlock.
But verified account, its really not a big deal.
Just create a miaccount beforehand and wait the 500 or so hours to unlock.
If you screw up something just testpoint it.
But i was logged into the account on the telephone on miflash. But wasnt verified the laptop i used so i couldn't flash.
But with testpoint Wich was kinda nervewrecking i fixed them both. Again.
I will wait for global official rom before doing this again.
My mi Max 3 is unlocked and bricked. Computer detects it as 9008 and mi flash. When i flash 8.9.2 cn dev rom, it is stuck on dummy.img. It is stuck on dummy.img in other firmware versions as well. How can i fix it ?
Edit : solved by Flashing with QFIL.
Flashed mine to stock global rom.
I was so nervous as hell.
Downloaded the official global and didnt even have the nerves to twrp it.
Do i Flashed it using xiaomi mi flasher and it worked.
Dont feel like messing more with it now...

Questions about developpement

Hello there !
I got the RN8Pro, last week and i unlocked it today. I naturally started to look how to root/install TWRP. I found numerous threads with instructions on how to do it but i also found a lot of warnings that it may brick the device, and that if that happens i need a special account to be able to unbrick it. It seems that some methods will work for the Chinese version while bricking others and vice versa. I have the Global ROM version 11.0.3.0(PGGEUXM) and the model of my phone is M1906G7G. Do you think it's safe for me to try flashing TWRP or at least root through ADB ?
I have also searched for custom ROMs and did not find any. The phone is relatively new so i wouldn't mind if i had to wait a bit, but i have also read that people just don't want to develop for it because of the Mediatek chip. Everyone says that development is not possible because there is no source code the the Mediatek chip. But here it says that the sources have been released partially here and the rest here. Is there something that's missing from these repos that makes development impossible ?
I also would like to become more than just a user and learn how to make custom roms. I found this thread that compiles some guides but a lot of them seem a bit outdated and I'm lost. Is that a good starting point or i should i go elsewhere ?
Thanks ^^

https://forum.xda-developers.com/re...overy-unofficial-twrp-recovery-redmi-t4002397
You Need To Press&Hold Power+Vol Down Button To Enter Into Fastboot Mode.
When TWRP Flashed Successfully Through CMD You Have To Immediately Disconnect Your Phone From PC Otherwise Your Phone Will Load Stock Recovery.

I Think You Shouldn't Take Risk As Your Phone Has No Warranty

[Solved] Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro hard brick

I tried unsuccessfully to install TWRP on a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro.
These are the steps I took:
Unlock the bootloader with MiUnlock.
Downloaded Fastboot.
Copied this CFW TWRP inside the Fastboot folder.
Downloaded these two files and copied inside the Fastboot folder.
fastboot flash preloader preloader_begonia.bin
fastboot flash lk lk.img
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.3.1-0-begonia_UNOFFICIAL.img
fastboot reboot
And the result is that it no longer turns on. It also fails neither to enter the Fastboot screen, nor in that of recovery.
Windows no longer sees the device, so I can't interact in any way even with the folders inside the phone memory. Finally it is not even seen by Xiaomi Flash Tool (wanting to try to reinstall the official ROM).
The phone, immediately after unlocking it with the Xiaomi tool, had MIUI 12. I don't know which Android mounted (my fault), but I proceeded the same, without doing a downgrade, since in a discussion here on the forum it seemed that it could work same, even without downgrading to Android 9.
Is there any way to fix?
Maybe using Linux, you might be able to interact with the phone memory even if it is turned off / bricked?
Solution
Without hoping in the least, I solved it by following this video step-by-step.
I thank the author of this video a million times.
For anyone who was reading and needed it, there is no need to open the phone, remove the battery, connect various wires... You can do everything from software with a couple of clicks, even if the phone does not seem to want to connect absolutely to the PC.
Follow the linked video, it's very simple and you will save a lot of money!
Only if you have flashed it with a CFW

Good for CFW, but if you are on a official MIUI and you've hardbricked it then you have to through an authorised Xiaomi account, in other words, it is a "payable flash" that you have to perform.
I had the same problem
Months ago I tried to install a stock ROM prior to the latest version installed, I got a brick exactly like the one you have, I didn't know who to go with until days ago, in a group on Telegram.
There is a group where a boy from Spain helped me with his authorized account for € 30, if you want to contact him I will leave you the link of the group.

I am not quite clear what you mean exactly, but I, before proceeding with trying to flash a custom ROM, I had connected my original Xiaomi account to the device in question and also had requested the unlocking of the bootloader through the appropriate Xiaomi software (and I finally waited the time indicated by them, before proceeding). So on my Note 8 Pro there was actually the original / official MIUI updated to the latest version and I didn't need to proceed with a payment of any kind following that tutorial.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I have already solved it by following precisely that video.
How could I unlock the bootloader with the device bricked?
I has been trying a to unlock bootloader with MiUnlock but doesn't work. Is there any other way to unlock the bootloader with the bricked device?

Why does it say "this video is private" ?

General Can someone see if it works?

Can someone test if this firehose works for EDL flashing? I would've done it myself but I don't know how to properly use it nor have I backed up my phone.
Thanks.
EDIT: It does not work
@jefffrom Am I missing something?
Where did you get it from?
Does it allow us to flash a ROM in EDL Mode without needing a Xiaomi Authorised Service Centre Account?
From my understanding these can be used in Mi Flash and QPST / QFIL
When you download a Stock MIUI Fastboot ROM, it contains those files, but for some devices there are modded Firehose-files available.

It should. That's the point of a patched firehose. But I need someone to test it, as I do not know how to use it with QFIL. And I don't want to mess up since I am too lazy to back up my phone.
A paid source was generous enough to provide it for free.
If someome tries it, please confirm if it's working or not in this thread.
Thanks.
I think no one will try it because if it doesnt work, there is a chance of hard bricking your phone

Will it? Won't it just refuse to flash at the beginning?
Who knows. It might or it might not. Point is, most people wont bother flashing it because the risk is too high and the reward doesnt attract much people. If you're really interested, i would request you to try it yourself and post the results here. That way, you would be helping the community as well in case someone needs the file in the future.
I'll save the Modded Firehose. If someone has got a hardbricked Poco F3, I'll send them the Modded Firehose and assist them with QPST.
If it works for them then, I'll let you guys know here.
I had a hardbricked Poco F3 and did try to use QPST, but couldn't find any patched Firehose-files on the Net.
