Question Cell standby battery drain - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

Hello, this is my cell standby while idle over night. Phone went from 100% to 20% over night. Phone is Mi 11i. How to fix?

Was the mobile internet (4g) switched off during the night?

Hello, no it was not switched off. I know it consumes some battery during standby which is normal, but not 2800mah which was in my case. I use 4g since 5g is more power demanding.

Someone please correct me but according to my knowledge a switched on 4g connectivity means the phone stays connected with the celltower. I don't know if any phone would not lose significant battery in that time

Wifi using drastically more power than HSPA+

I got my Gnex a couple weeks ago, and installed JB as soon as I got it. I'm currently running one of the unofficial CM10 builds, but near as I can tell this happens on all ROMs I've used (all JB).
Basically, using wifi drains the battery at a drastically higher rate than using the HSPA+ (3G) network, especially while idle. What's more, this extra drain is not reflected in the battery statistics, where wifi is never even listed.
For example, if I leave my phone unplugged overnight with wifi on, nearly half the battery will have drained by morning. If I turn wifi off, and just leave the mobile data on, only around 10% of the battery will have drained.
The wifi works just fine, and actually gets better range than any of my other devices, it's just that the battery seems to drain unreasonably fast with it on.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Is data being transmitted constantly?
If it is occurring with various ROMs, perhaps there is an (or multiple) application(s) syncing only over wifi.
I leave my WiFi on over night and have never notice a severe drain.

Its not your WiFi its an app or improper configuration somewhere. Our WiFi goes in to a very low power state when idle. Search for betterbatterystats and use it to check for wake locks - this should tell you exactly what's happening.

Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 battery problem

Hi guys, I just got my galaxy note II for like 2 weeks ago. And i've noticed a problem about my phone.
My galaxy note II will drain the battery for like more than 20% ( 20%-25% ) while its in idle. Which means after i fully charged my phone, i unplugged the charger and i used it for awhile more like it was left 92% before i slept. Then the next day when i woke up i noticed that my phone's battery drained about 20++%, it became 79% (i slept for 8-9 hours). I didnt leave it with wifi on. I just left it with 3G & power saving on!!!! This is a serious problem, i mean how is it possible to drain for 20% just for around 9 hours of sleep.
And one more question, how long does your galaxy note II battery last after a full charge with you playing checking the phone for message once for almost every 20 mins?
Normally i woke up around 9am for work and by the time i reach home at night around 12am. It still has around 30% of battery. But today, this strange thing happened. I unplugged my phone around 9.30 am. Starting of the day was okay, it was normal. But right after it was reduced to 60%, the battery started to drain faster. By 8.30am it was already left 25%.
:crying:
GUYS HELP PLEASE!!! AS IM NEW HERE. REALLY REALLY NEED A SUGGESTION ABOUT WHAT TO DO TO MY PHONE.

Yes the battery does drain even as you sleep. Keeping 3G on actually drains more than Wifi. So if you really want to preserve your battery overnight, turn off your mobile data totally. It is somewhat an annoyance that you can't choose between 2G/3G like you do with iPhone. If you still want that connectivity, leave wifi on instead of mobile data.Give it a try for one night and see how it goes.
Are you using any power saving apps?

I just tried again last night and it drains from 100% to 81% from 8 hours of sleep? Is it really normal?
I am using this app callee "cpu spy". Over 8 hours of state time. Only 5 and a half hour my phone is actually in deep sleep. 200mhz for almost nearly 2 hours. And the rest go to 1000mhz and 1400mhz. Do you understand what it means? I dont. Can you please explain?
And im not using any battery saving app. Any suggestions?

Post some screenshots of your battery usage.
Strange, for me the battery is quite long lasting. What application is draining your battery?
Attached my screen shoot.

Follow the link in my sig towards How to flash a custom rom (no i am not asking u to flash one). U will find one tab for useful links. That thread can help you debug your issue as well as suggest probable solutions.

Under where it says screen usage 48%, click on that to further expand on that. Then post that screenshot.

You can change between 2g and 3g.
More settings > mobile network. GSM is 2g and wcdma is 3g.

Op have you installed viber by any chance? This app drained my battery quickly even when I am not using it.

Try one night just turning off wifi, it continuously scans every 10 seconds. See what that does, then the next night turn off the mobile and see what that does. Wifi has a consistant drain associated to the scanning. If your radio is tower switching constantly like mine does that drains you battery also. Both my home and work it constantly switches between 25, 26, and 41 and just won't stick on any of them.
If your phone is new make sure you fully charge and drain it consistantly for the first couple weeks. The battery will perform better with each full cycle.
Good Luck
Even better put your phone into ultra power saving mode... Only 2% loss in 8 hours.
(When your going to bed for the night of course)
In your screenshot your phone has issues staying asleep, obviously.

If I go into WiFi setting, turn off scanning and change keep WiFi on during sleep to never or when plugged in.

[Q] wifi problem and battery problem

Wifi:
My wifi drops when the phone is in stamby for a long time. Example: if I do not use my phone for an hour, wifi drops even if I do not have stamina. Is that normal?
Battery:
My battery is ok. It only slows down too fast when I chat or use kik or whats app. I also noted that the first 10% drains immediately while from the 50% it drains more slowly. Is that normal?
Draining yes, wifi i don't know i had it turnd on all night didn't drop at least i think it didn't...

My phone created problem not to charge even overnight charging. Gone heated ,on wifi battery consumed very fast. What to do suggest.
The wifi is normal as it cuts in and out to save battery life

Standby drain

When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the Xiaomi Mi A3's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Every morning I check the battery & I get about 2-3% standby drain at max. So it's good enough I'd say.
I get a drain of 10-12% at night
3-4% drain every night even with airplane mode ON, I always get 0-1% drain with MIUI rom
~0.3% per hour when idle (wifi connected, 4G mobile network active)
Disable fingerprint - 1% or 0% at night

20%-30% battery drain in 10h-12h, all APP kill (wifi disconnected , 4G mobile network OFF)
when i try to see what app are doing that, no app appear. comes 100% to 72% and no app consuming battery
use 2 SIM on the phone, stock ROM (Android One)
Some idea to solve this battery drain ?
If your phone is draining more battery for no reason then try banging it at a solid wall, result will be no more battery drain (0%) and no need to charge phone again, feel free ? thank me later

Enable all stats in Gsam battery monitor (with root or ADB) and check kernel wakelocks. It might give a hint.
2% during my bed time without wifi and 4G connections.
In week days, I'm on the laptop so the phone is idle most of the time. It lasts for days.

It's good enough for me , at least 8-10% of drain is there.
Battery drain in note5 pro
There's no battery drain in Note 5 pro.
Sometimes 1% maybe.. sometimes 2% ... I sleep with data and many apps running in background.
I was thinking to buy miA3 but.. 4-5% battery drain is a huge deal?
However battery backuup in miA3 better than realme 3pro, realme5pro or maybe XT but standby drain of 3-4% is bad.

That's amazing. Could you list what apps you have that run in the background?
Blokada, Bitwarden, Slack, Telegram, FB Messenger, Google Fit, Pokemon GO, Gmail, Calendar.
I bought it yesterday (30 Nov 2019), and posted my experience elsewhere in the forum. Just uploading here for reference. Minimal use, no gaming.
