Hi I love the new "slide" lock screen. I love sliding the round "thingy" to unlock the screen or to get to the camera. I used to use the locker widget on my sgs2 but I want to stick to stock android as much as possible and getting rid of all those "addons" is a joy ;-) now the only thing that bothers me is that I can't lock my lock screen with the "slide" lock screen and put a pin in case I loose my galaxy nexus...(I know that sound cheesy) Can someone give me a hint? I do not want to use an extra plugin for this simple feature to work...
Cheers,
Silentbob

Yes that's exactly what I would like... is it possible?
Cheers...
If you use an app like WidgetLocker you can set it up so that widget locker is your main lockscreen and you can make it look exactly like the stock lockscreen. Then if you enable pin unlock you can make it request for a pin after you unlock with widgetlocker

I'm confused here. Blur did this on my DX and it drove me crazy because no functionality from the slide lock screen other than vibrate adjustment. Does the OP want to have the slide lock on top so that it's possible to use the slide lock features on ICS? I would imagine with that a pin lock below, those features would still require pin lock entry. Perhaps I'm confused with the work flow that the OP wants.

Yup, this works perfectly.
Its dumb to have to slide to unlock only to get to the code screen.

Thank u for the time you have taken to write this help full comment.
Hi to all and thanks for your feedback. I think there is some need to better explain the reason I would like to use the swipe to unlock feature and at the same time have a pin lock.
I need a quick way to access to my camera app from the lock screen. I take a ton of images this way and I love the feature of the iPhone where you can take images from the lock screen very quickly but u need a pin to enter to the springboard. I hoped that this would be possible with stock android. As I asked in my first post I don't want to install the Lockscreenwidget. It has way to many options and some times it does not work. So now I hope that my intent is better understandable.
Thank you very much

I figured that's what you meant. Yeah, it would be a nice feature if you snap a photo or adjust the volume without entering the homescreen. Alas, to my knowledge, that functionality doesn't exist with a PIN. It's the app market for you my friend, and maybe Seekdroid in case you lose your phone and want to wipe it (assuming you are paranoid about security).

My lock screen...
I just noticed that when using the camera, a swipe to the left brings the last taken photo.
I'm on a 4.1.2 rom
Usually I pay attention to new android features, but I didn't remember reading about this one, so I thought I would share...
This was even announced along with 4.1 at Google I/O this summer
Unfortunately in 4.2 your can do the same thing on the permanent lock screen widget, exposing your gallery to everyone who might come across your phone.

no, not with a secure lock screen. it shows a padlock then asks you to enter your password

Yep, just tested it. Really stupid.
Though, on the flip side, I tried something I didn't realize before - tried to access the phones internal storage via USB and it wouldn't show anything until I unlocked it once after it was connected.

Oh, you're right. I could have sworn that it didn't need unlocking, but it seems you're right.
You can use this app too. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34093005 It works well.

OMG the swipe saved a potential high jacker of my photo Two clicks... I don't get why everyone is up in arms about the lock screen camera. When using a secure lock it will only show photos taken during that session or nothing at all. If your unsecure then it takes two swipes to do what two what taps will do on every single other phone running iOS 4+ or Android 4.0+. Seriously swipe to the camera icon or tap it on a iOS device and then tap gallery... Voila all the gallery is there....
Seriously I don't really get all the hatorade being thrown towards Google over swipe to camera... Its fantastic IMO, abit slow though
Yup, this was there since 4.1.

I'm not sure we talk about the same thing; at some point the discussion shifted to lockscreen, but what I originally meant was: when you use the camera app (when you can see on your screen what is seen by the camera) then you can swipe to the left to bring the gallery; I know you can also click on the thumbnail preview at the bottom, but swiping is easier when you use the phone single hand
While in the gallery view you can fling up or down to delete pics.
Hi, guys.
First I'll answer... Searched and searched again... Couldn't find neither thread or post...
Problem is: probably getting older or just learning Samsung, since always been on HTC,,,
Question: How to get rid of security lock on the start up screen?
Set it up when tried to set VPN network, it' one of pre-requirements for VPN, now can't get it off.
Any advise? Really appreciate!!!

I dont believe the above will work under the situation described.... for security reasons, the phone demands a security lock screen if you do things like add a cert...
I am currious s well if you can somehow diabable that with root but on stock roms.
thanks!

Not a bug that's what's Samsung decided to implement in the latest update

i think that was there before too..
The whole point of a pattern or pin lock is too prevent the lock screen from opening unless correct input is provided. Whereas lockscreen widgtes take u directly inside..
If they were enabled with pattern/pin lock the whole idea of security would be defeated as anyone copuld open your phone just by swiping them. Its a logical enhancement and not a bug.
sometimes I want to see the widget without unlocking my phone. And how I want to unlock my phone is my choice, whether password or pattern or none. But I should be able to see my widget.

i widget is kind of a short cut. If you swipe it across it opens up the correspoding app and also unlocks the phone simultaneously. This cant be done in case of pateern/pin lock,

yeah i know there was a way. But on a non rooted stock device its not possible. And dont blame samsung. Its a development that will be done time i guess; similarly how it was done before :good:
Its a pain to swipe down from the top to see all notifications on the such a big phone. Is there a way to swipe down from anywhere on the home screen to see all notifications? Just like in samsung phones?

Thanks. But is there any way to do this with an app or in 20x's settings?
.
As far as I know, no such option in stock launcher's settings or general settings.
I find it most convenient to just swipe down on the finger print sensor.

Oh wow you can do that? But when I had the phone I wasnt able to do that. Do you have to enable a feature for it?

It's under the Fingerprint ID section in Biometrics and passwords. Huawei gives you a lot of options with the sensor, you can select which ones you want to turn on.
