I prefer normal (5W) charging to extend battery life. I normally charge from 40 to 85%. When I plug in the charger the phone shows 1 hour until fully charged (to 85 with limit) which is good but after a few second it slows down drastically and shows about 4 hours. I found out when I enable fast charging and then disable it while the charger is plugged in fixes this problem. Of course it wouldn't be practical to do this every time.
I found a solution. Routines can be useful for many things.

Just browsing the web at night with 100% brightness while charging, looking for a HD wallpaper to compliment this beautiful screen.
About 30 mins browsing, downloading some wallpapers on wifi, I notice the top right corner of my phone/screen is extremely hot.
I checked my battery stats and I see the following:

"Not Charging"
"50 C Overheat"
Is this normal for the battery/device to overheat and stop charging?
Yes, thats what its designed to do when the battery is "overheating." Turn the phone off or pull it off the charger and let it cool down.
I know that the voltage can drop a little after you pull it off the charger to around 4150/4100, but i noticed for some time now that the battery drops below 4000mV just after 100% ? It this normal behavior ? Because on my HD2 it won't drop that hard after 100% and the decrease of voltage was more stable.
Furthermore how is voltage related to battery lifetime ? Do i need to worry about voltage or should i only look to mAh ?
I attached a screenshot of my battery statistics.

Sister says battery runs down wayyy faster than it used to. No improvement after buying a new battery. Despite this screencap of battery info, she says she hasn't used it until about 4 hours after it was off the charger and her screen brightness is turned down.

Then you came to the right place because we have infinite battery threads here at XDA. Good luck with your SEARCHING and READING, I am sure you will find some great suggestions.
Hi I am wondering if this is normal when we charge with a Fast Charger. I downloaded Gsam app and shows about 110-111F when it's charging, is that a safe level/normal or is that TOO hot and can cause battery damage?
after it goes to 75% or 80% it goes down to 96'F, it only gets hot below 75% for example 5% to 75%

I posted a response in your other thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/help/fast-charging-makes-phone-warm-normal-t3157022
Please do not create multiple threads asking the same question.
Thought you might find this interesting. I have a mFi smart outlet and I plugged my HTC 10 in with the OEM charger at about 10% and let it charge to 100%. This is the watt / amp draw during that time (ignore the Xbox360 label)

I don't know why it dips. The spikes are I believe from me turning the screen on. I can try it again and try to not touch the phone at all if anyone really wants absolute clean data.
That's interesting
