Hi All, This is my new Project for
ZENFONE 2 LASER
=//Flash all kernels with ease\\==
What is this?
This is a easy to use Noob-Friendly utility for flashing kernels with ease. Many newbies do not understand fastboot
or TWRP because of no previous experience with these before. This project provides them with a very easy method of doing so.
The only thing involved here is simple copy/paste and renaming files.
What do I need before I start ?
1.)Any kernel image file(.img)
2.)TWRP/Cyanogenmod Recovery
WOW, sounds nice !! Tell me how do I use this project of yours ? :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
Okay Okay Have some patience !
The instructions are as follows =>
1.)Grab any kernel designed for your device model. It would be a image(.img) file.
2.)Rename that file to boot.img
3.)Download the zip file from attachments and open it with any compression manager on PC or Phone
4.)Put the boot.img inside zip file.(Most probably you won't need to extract the zip for doing this.
4.)Put the modified zip in your phone.
6.)Reboot to TWRP , and flash the zip file
Easy enough huh !

yeah awesome bro, keep it up
Looks good and easy to use.. It really works.. Thanks abhishek for making flashing kernel image easy...
Nice friend. thanks.
You could work in keep the kernel after unattended cm13 nightly update.

Thanks bro,
I'm thinking of additing a backup in next build,ie the zip will backup current kernel in sdcard

not trying to be rude but TWRP already have option to flash kernel and recovery images directly. Why this fuss ? its a straight forward process

Dude did I force you into using it?
If you had been kind enough to read through the OP, you wouldn't be posting the above post.

Again, not acting like a critique, but copy, renaming and pasting vs direct flashing is my point.
Anyhow, what ever floats your boat mate !!

Float your boat, hahaha
This is just for newbies so that kernel flashing can be made easy for them.
It's already easy. Download and flash. Doesn't get any easier than that.
In case anyone else is having issues using TWRP with CM 13 encryption, the issue is already fixed in TWRP code, they just haven't released a new build. So I've done my own build off nightly sources.
Hopefully this will help out anyone else who can't get TWRP 3.0.2 to access encrypted /data .

Nice idea, however, you appear to have chosen quite possibly the worst hosting website in the history of man! Why do I need to sign up to be able to download a file? Makes no sense to me. Thanks anyway.
Why don't you submit the fix to the OFFICIAL TWRP thread?

I'm happy to host anywhere else, I just happened to already have an account there. What's the preferred hosting location these days?

I didn't create the fix myself. It's already in the official TWRP sources. They just haven't released a new build since fixing it. It's also worth noting that the bug is not device specific. If I understand correctly it appears in all MM devices that use hardware encryption.
I didn't post in the official thread because this isn't an official build.

Done. Thanks for the tip.
Is there a reason why I cannot seem to use "adb" or "adb shell" while booted into this copy of TWRP?
Dear Community,
I just flashed TWRP 3.0.3 and installed LineageOs 13 by powermetza... How do I obtain root? Instructions told to flash it optionally, but there was no root.zip included in that thread. Can someone share a link? Thx in advantage

That did not work TWRP says 4 errors occured while flashing process, but without deyails.
I downloaded twice, thought that a bad file might be the reason, but no.
In developers options the "root" options are extended though, but take no effect when root is activated. I installed SuperSu and tried to complete the .binary without success. I can't find my mistake ?

Can't help you there, I have never needed to use that root zip.
Why don't you just use Lineage 14.1? it has root built-in, just enable it in Dev Options.

It's my first flash on this device ... I wasn't sure if 14.1 is too heavy or too alpha for daily use.
Can you recommend it for daily use? thank you for your time!

Nice, I wait until you've posted it. I'm looking forward to flash your rom, I watched your work for a long time and you always did a great job and you seem to be one of the best devs for our device, I'm pretty sure it will fly like a bird with your rom ?
I found this rom on chinese forum and im sharing here.. it is not mine. developer name is Happy. All credits to him.
this rom is pretty stable and smooth overall, nice battery too I think. Ive tested for only a day. Only problem is that u have to debloat it for yourself.

If you have a X722 >>>>>> DO NOT INSTALL THIS ROM!!!!
I hope you don't take this post personally, I am only wanting to warn people about the dangers of using this Rom, and not trying to insult you.
First this Rom is not really newer.
I just compared the files of the two ROMs ( side by side ) and it mostly has the exact same files with the same dates and sizes.
But this one has more bloatware, and a different kernel ( the wrong one) simply compiled at a later date.
Its using the S1 Coolpad kernel and that is dangerous for some users.
I would not trust the link to the Flyme website either:
I used that one for two days and although it had all of the correct radio files from stock EUI, it still had too many FC's and the overheating was so bad I thought the phone was bricked at one point.
I am sure that you don't want people to brick their phones!?
* Why not just install something stable and guaranteed to work.
Reminder based on the Coolpad S1 kernel.
I would strongly Advise that anyone with a X722 to not bother unless you want a guaranteed brick.
The only positive aspect that I can see is that this Rom is It has alot of sounds, that is not a joke.
It has 40 ringtones
40 Alarm sounds
30 Notification sounds
30 misc ui sounds
Seriously, these links need to be taken down.

I just had a question for you guys..
Is there going to be a TWRP for OP 7T or not? I want to root my OP 7T so much yet I don't know how to do it or what version to use.. yes I'm a noob at this.. All I know is that with TWRP it's gonna be a lot more easier..
So.. does anyone know if there's gonna be a TWRP for the OP 7T?
Thanks!!
They are giving full focus for Android 100 soon, so yeah probably. When? Not sure.
Sent from my OnePlus7TPro using XDA Labs
From what I have read there working on it but android 10 in 7t is so different it will take time to make one that works, it does not work the same as android 9 does. The root methods out there do work, my 7t came with a version of Q I could not find any patched boot images for but was still able to root it using one of the methods listed in the forums. Its not at all like using TWRP. I first went to fastbootd then booted to a modded TWRP that was useful only to use as a way to access the factory boot image and run ADB commands and pull it from the device to my PC then back to my internal storage .. Reboot from there (which will seem like your going to brick your device since the TWRP will say there is no OS installed, but there is,, it boots fine) onxce back up I used magisk manager to patch that extracted boot image and then reboot back to fastbootd push it back onto the device then reboot and its rooted. Without TWRP to flash (as the modded only give ADB access) you use magisk to flash mods and if you want a custom kernel you use a kernel manager that can backup and flash the new kernel. I was able to put bluespark kernel as well and xXx mod, james DSP works fine also. Waiting for TWRP to mess with Viper4android.

No offense but he might have said PM because if he started explaining here it would look like off topic since this thread was about TWRP.

The thread for rooting your OP7T is here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7t/how-to/guide-how-to-root-oneplus-7t-twrp-t3979307
There are 3 different sets of instructions provided for rooting the OP7T, and many questions have been asked and answered there if you run into any difficulties.
