There are 3 variants of NOVA kernels: Nova, SuperNova and NovaLite.
Nova is for Balance.
SuperNova is for Performance
NovaLite is for Battery Backup.

Important !
There can be slight stutters or lags while doing heavy tasks in NovaLite.There might be high battery drains while using SuperNova even while the phone is idle.Using Performance modules such as MTK Vest, Spectrum, or Gaming optimizers might ruin the intended functioning of the kernel.Use them at your own risk.

I haven't yet tried it against a phone, but it starts & looks like previous version on Win7-32bit, thanks
[EDIT] I have now used it & it works fine with my Star N9599T (MT6589T chipset).
I did find that there is a timing issue - there is only a tiny window between plugging in the battery & plugging in the USB - something like 2 seconds. It does work without the battery, but there doesn't seem to be enough power available & operations fail part-way - BE WARNED

The screenshot does not show everything, but that is definitely not normal
looks like the "lmkd" is not working properly
or there is something wrong with the kernel

it's the rom
bad ram management or "lmkd" not working properly
try a clean flash, or change the rom ...
also you should try living without gapps :
