So i have a Galaxy s4 mini with sprint as my carrier. I'm currently trying to root it via Kingo root app but the problem is that everytime i try, the end result is NeedRoot. I checked my phone and apparently the problem is that everytime I try to root, i get a little shield on my phone saying "Security notice" once it's clicked it states " An attempt to access a secure area on your phone without authorization has been blocked. Make sure your phone is protected by updating the security policy to the latest version from samsung". So how do I remove this policy problem? I just want to root my S4 Mini. Any help/advice is great help, thank you!

If you took all the updates and are on NA7, no. As far as I know we need ODIN/Kies to root now. Ideally, we wouldn't have have taken the update that made Knox an issue. Someone would have dumped update, broken it apart and gave us a zip to flash everything but the bootloader so we wouldn't have these issues.

Hi i have a s4 mini gti9195i with knox rooted by kingo root apk
how can i change from kingo's superuser to supersu from chainfire? The update of the binary fails.
Not fast but 100% good way:
1. Flash stock firmware with odin (remove kingoroot and all it's trash).
2. Use CF-Auto-root or (if you plan to use custom roms) flash custom recovery.
Notice:
CF-Auto-root probably will trip knox flag when trying to disable knox security.
Hi guys
For the past week I have been searching for a way to root my phone without tripping knox but I haven't found anything yet.
Device info:
I9190 - still stock
i9190xxubna1
Will Kingo work? I already tried saferoot, are there any other ways?
Thanks
Saferoot wont work, kingo I don't know someone said it works and other one said it triped knox

Saferoot is the best way to go, and if it can't root, it doesn't trigger knox. Kingo rooting is based on the Saferoot, I don't know if they've changed it yet, do a google serach and see.
Hi guys,
I am planning to root my N7505 today/weekend but there is one thing I am not sure of .. What will happen to KNOX.
I read somewhere that the KNOX bit will be tripped voiding warranty, for which I don't really care. But will I able to use KNOX feature after rooting. Although I am not using it for now but what if ..
Also what shall I do first, TWRP flash or Rooting ?
Cheers.
Hello, after a search on these forums I could not find any topic about my specific problem so here goes.
I purchased a secondhand P605.
When I checked the Knox trigger it said 0x1, which made me wonder if anyone tried to root it before. It is not rooted at the moment, and I am unable to root it because Knox prevents it. I did update it to Lollipop.
So, I took to the Web and tried to disable Knox. This seems impossible, due to the fact that I don't even have permission to enter the Knox container!
Does anyone have any idea how to disable Knox when one doesn't have access to Knox at all?
Thanks in advance.

If you updated to 5.1.1 then you need a modded kernel to root. Install TWRP, then flash new kernel and then flash supersu.
Your P605has definitely been modified either with a kernel or recovery, that's why you have Knox trigger 0x1.
Will try that , thank you.
Hello everyone, I picked up this phone about 2 days ago from Boost Mobile. I have the SPH-L710T, running 4.4.2. So I had downloaded Kingroot to see if it would root my phone, as I don't have a computer that's readily accessible. So it didn't work at first, but yesterday I went back to the app and it asked me if I want to disable Knox to improve the chances of it finding a root strategy. Unsure & afraid that selecting it would brick my phone, I just left it alone.
I'm curious, has that happened to anyone else? If so, then could you tell me what happened? Thanks everyone, I appreciate it in advance.
Knox is a set of security things for when these are company phone. Knox will mess with root stuff, and nothing happens to your phone when it's disabled. Don't worry about disabling it. I'm on stock (rooted) oh1 with it disabled and nothing has happened due to knox being disabled. Hope this answers your question.
