I don't think you can, short of freezing the Google app, which will prevent the other Google apps from working properly.

settings, apps, assistant, see all assistant settings, at a glance, untick weather
i think that takes it off the lock screen

[Q] How to put weather widget on lockscreen?

So I learned that it's not possible to ad custom widgets to the lockscreen, but I read somewhere that there should be a default weather widget that shows there. How do I set it up? I can only see the time, I've been looking everywhere in the phone but I don't see the option...
You have to open the weather widget and let it grab your current location and then it will load on your lock screen.

Ok got it, thanks! Pretty basic features though, I wish the lockscreen would accept some other widgets... The default weather widget doesn't even give you more info when you tap it in the lock screen.

I don't know if it matters, but I did notice there are 2 different weather widgets that you can select, I selected the second one in the list that looks like this.
I am guessing it shouldn't matter? But I have no idea why it is not working for you.

Weird, ok I just cleared my weather data, no longer showed temp on my lock screen. Added the first widget to my Nova launcher main screen, and turned on location I have high accuracy set and Location History turned on. The widget says tap to add city, I tap it then get a dialog to use current location i click agree and it tries to find my location. I select my current location from the list. Go to my lockscreen and the Temp is there.

Glitch
I'm pretty sure that the AT&T stock version of Android 5.0.1 has a bug with this LockScreen feature. It sometimes works on my lock-screen, but in no way I can access any settings of it in the Show Info - Weather section. I'm using Nova launcher, but the lock-screen is an Android feature, it shouldn't conflict each-other.
Anyone found a solution other than a full factory reset?
The problem with the lockscreen weather is that you can only update it at 1 hour intervals as a minimum. That's way too slow. 30 minutes is max for me for weather updates. 15 minutes would be better.

How can I remove the weather widget?

It's very annoying Pixel launcher forced to put the stupid weather widget. The data is not accurate and not update. I have a very good local weather app with accurate data and forecast.
You can't unless you use a different launcher like Nova

Later version of Pixel launcher may fix that???
Disable weather cards in google now.
I think it's as simple as disabling location, refreshing the Google now cards and rebooting.

You can disable location and get rid of the weather, that is true. It will however, leave a date widget in its place

My initial challenge was how to turn it on once I had my Pixel (thus Pixel Launcher). I went through a variety of procedures via discussion groups, and it finally worked when I enabled "Location" in the "Permissions" of the Pixel Launcher app in the Android app settings. Thus, when I wanted to disable it, I turned that permission off, and just in case, also went to Google app's hamburger menu--> customize--> Everything else and selected "no" for the three weather update options, themselves hard to figure out how they differ. This will also disable the weather widget inside of the google app, which is equally useless as the one on the homescreen (they are linked) as it requires manually updating. However, before you eliminate that widget in the Google app, tap it to open it up into a search window view, then tap its 3 dot menu (on right) and select the option to put a weather icon on the home screen. This icon (not an app in the app drawer, oddly) can only be created here, and opens up to a really cool Google weather app, which, upon tapping that home screen icon, will always be updated! ....
Last thing: whenever you make these sorts of changed to system functions, at least on Android 7.x, changes will often require a restart!

Another (maybe simpler) solution is to downgrade to the first version of pixel launcher. It's on apkmirror and it doesn't have the weather widget. You'll lose the swipe up anywhere to apps thought... But works fine!

Weather Widget Missing

For the life of me, I can't seem to find where to turn on the weather widget on the home screen of my 2 XL. I really like the stock launcher and on online reviews, I see the weather widget sitting next to the calendar widget. However, after trying to find it and conducting research, no dice.
Not sure if it matters, but I do have 1Weather installed and the temperature displaying in my notification shade.
Again, I'm using the stock launcher and just want to be able to see the weather widget sitting next to the calendar widget on the home screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I came here searching for the same answer.
Weird, every pixel 2 I've seen just has it there by default. Maybe try clearing app data for the launcher?
When I tried out the pixel launcher on my 5x, I could long press the date and it showed options. I think there were 2 check boxes. One for calendar alerts and one for something else. But the weather widget is not part of the launcher so it didn't show. But maybe is for phones that have it installed.

I was searching for the widget app and the first search suggestion is widget not working. Solution seems to just be download launcher again for most people.

Thanks a TON!!!
This is what fixed it for me "Open the google page to the left and use the hamburger menu and select customize. Select "everything else" at the bottom. Find anything that says weather and set it to yes."
None of the solutions are working for me. I even tried grabbing the Pixel Launcher from APK Mirror (because I can't uninstall or update it in the Play Store ~ system app).
Additionally, I don't see "everything else" at the bottom of my customize section of the Google app.
My pixel 2 XL should be here Friday. Im planning to use Nova launcher. I wonder if Googles weather widget will work with it? If it doesn't hop someone can patch the APK.

As far as Nova launcher gotta this is the first time since I've been using Android I'm satisfied, with the stock launcher.
I've been testing out the Pixel 2 Launcher on a different device. You have to enable Location access then search "weather" on your Google Now page. Once it there, try adding the shortcut to your home screen. Go back to your google now feed and refresh it. It should show a small weather bar as the first and it should show the weather on the widget.

No dice on this method; a small weather shortcut is placed on the home screen, but doesn't "shift" into what I've seen on other 2's and 2 XL's. I'm beginning to think there may be a software bug with the launcher. Thanks for the suggestion though!
With that said, surely I am not the only one who is experiencing this small issue. I don't know...

Have you tried refreshing your Google feed after getting your weather? It should look like this. See that small weather bar on the 2ns screenshot? Once that shows up, the weather on the widget does too. Takes a couple of refreshes.

On my 2 XL, this is what my Google screen looks like. As you can see, I don't have a weather bar like yours; and I can't find a way to add it either. Also, location is turned on with anything associated to weather and the Google screen. Hmm, this is interesting, lol.

Try going into your Google App's Settings. Look for Google Assistant then look for the My Day menu. Check the Weather check box if you haven't. Maybe this could enable it. Then refresh your Google feed.

From the home screen swipe left and get to the Google now page. In the top right corner you will see the 3 dots, click it and select customize feed. Scroll down to weather and select view all settings. Then check weather updates for your location. This worked for me. Hope this helps

How to get weather on the "At A Glance" widget ?

I've been running Nova since I got my Pixel 2 XL earlier this month, but just for fun wanted to try out the stock default Pixel launcher. I like the default launcher for now, may or may not stick with it ( been using Nova on every phone for years now )
But when using the stock launcher, I noticed the 'At A Glance' widget is just showing me Day and Date, and not the weather next to it. I tried to remove that widget and use my good old Chronus widget looks 99.99% exactly the same but is more customization and I can have it with the weather to the right looking just like the Google one., but it looks stupid if I can't remove the stock one.
Any help would be appreciated thx

Let me try that. I only use Location when running Maps, never else. It's silly the weather app doesn't let us manually enter on our prefered location.
Ok I turned Location / GPS on in the drop down notification shade, still no weather on the widget.
Wish I could just remove the default widget and put my Chronus widget there instead. But that's what Nova is for I guess.
I followed this guys guide, and it still isn't working;
Swipe from home screen to your cards.
Tap on the three vertical dots in the top right hand corner (I'm original pixel on 8.1 mind, you're on the newer pixel 8.0).
Select "customize feed".
Scroll down to "Weather", select "view all settings". Ensure "weather updates" and "weather updates for your location" are both on. It might take a while if these were off for the widget to appear.
After that (if it's still not working) you can go to the weather card itself (search weather after swiping to your cards and enter the weather card). Tap the three horizontal lines in the top left corner.
Select "settings".
Select "Your feed"
Under "Get notified about", two things to enter and turn on:
"Weather alerts for substantial changes"
And
"Current Weather condition"
I did all of that, and still no weather on the At A Glance widget on the home screen.

Weather on the lock screen?

Does anyone know how to enable lock screen weather? I've never had it on the phone, but would like it.
You need a weather app and allow to push news to your lockscreen.

Add weather widget to home screen on Nokia 6.1 with Android 9.0?
I did a search for weather on Google, and came up with a standard Google weather screen. One of the options is to add widget to the home screen, however when I selected this, nothing happened.
The "At a Glance" preferences for the home screen do not include a weather option. See screenshot.
Before the phone updated to Pie, I believe the weather was part of the "At a Glance" options.
I tried installing Nova launcher, but when I attempted to add the Google weather widget, it didn't work there either. It almost seems as if Google has not coordinated two parts of their operating system to work properly together.
Can anyone else confirm this behavior, or might it be exclusive to Nokia phones?
