Question Is there any way to disable max brightness in Camera app ? - Sharp Aquos R6

As title, whenever I open the Camera app, the brightness changed to max level, is there anyway to disable it ? Thanks

It is really inconvenient to hv forced max brightness when using stock camera app. I cannot find a way to turn it off, but you can temporarily fix by openning the cam app, scroll down from the top and adjust the brightness, then, the brightness will be normal until you restart the cam app. You may also consider to install Google Cam app mod, which is available here in XDA (thx for the developers)

You can override it using other app, called Applock. It has function to override app brightness setting. It also can lock your app using PIN, password and biometrics.

I just updated to Android 13 and the Camera app seems to fix this there's also a setting to activate/deactivate "more brightness" in Camera app

Hello scalikano,
Good Question .
i am using tasker coz if we use only lux, then it will run periodically in background for light reading. running lux periodically will drain battery and one more reason for using tasker is sometimes androids default task killing system kills lux service, so than lux will stop working until you restart it, tasker helps to keep it alive, so when ever you turn your phones display on tasker and lux will adjust screen brightness to its best....:highfive:
thanx for the update ..friend.
it is a good solution.
i dont have that problem battery draining or task killer issue.
i use lux on wake-up mode (lux only works when u unlock ur screen) n ignore lux in the task killer..thats another solution..thanx

+1 same here. Though, I'm trying to understand how to use Lux properly, I mean: in a sunny day, outside, I need the brightness at 80%/100%, else I can't see anything on screen. At night time, viceversa, low brightness.
Now: I can set these low/top values, but, what can I do for average Luma values? Am I clear?
first adjust lux on-wake mode with settings wizard in setup.
then go to sample collection select camera and front camera and check ''ignore 0 lux settings''
in general setting, offscreen button backlight should be ON.
fade brightness changes checked,
jitter control checked
manual call brightness checked
persistent notification checked
and widget opens dashboard checked.
now put lux widget on your homescreen.when u click on widget lux dashboard will be open.
in the middle of the dashboard u will see a circle with yellow line to link brightness value to luma value
just press link button to fix ur brightness to that luma value.
it means according to changing environmental brightness u can adjust the brightness value by dragging line forward or back and make a link that luma value and after several times of linking it automatically comes to that brightness u had linked before.
so, no need to add one by one the values in luma.
i use lux like this way.
it is so simple.just link some values e.g. in the room at night light, in the noon outside,
sorry for my bad english i tried to explain in detailed as can as i do.
TY, I'll try your settings! :highfive:
EDIT: why Offscreen button backlight ON? I mean, it keeps softkeys always on, while, to save battery, I always keep them disabled.. uhm?

no it does not mean sofkeys always on.
it means when u are on lockscreen lux will work after u press menu button when on slide or pattern or other lockscreen mode.
otherwise after locking ur screen, brightness will not be increased by lux if u dont check that option and u are not able to see pattern to unlock under sun light.

Okay, I see, but, actually, if I enable it, it keeps softkeys on, or that happens only to me? That's why I disabled it.
in phone /settings /lockscreen/ adjust it to 6 seconds...no problem.
softkeys will be turned off after 6 seconds and it will not effect lux working

settings-display-more settings-touch key light duration..6 seconds is there but i just gave it as an example.it does not matter u can turn it ''always off''

u can try different ways..lux will work on lockscreen mode if selected in lux settings.
no worry..just play with ur phone.

As you said.. give it a go! I downloaded it for my gt-I8190, it uses front camera as light sensor, it works, I like it.
If so, follow scaliskano's steps. :good:
In the paid version of lux you can use the front camera as a lightsensor. Works like a charm for me. There's a thread dedicated on this subject. Don't have it at hand, just search for it.

No need to use Lux with Tasker because the app can adjust brightness every wake up of the phone so would be only a waste of ram and sources use Tasker. Also is not true that Lux do not drain battery used in this way. Is better to use a widget that allows you to rise up or down fast brightness without any battery drain or system slowdown due to auto adjust brightness. In the end Lux is a paid app for Arm v7 processor but I tested and works also on the Galaxy Ace.
Inviato dal mio GT-S5830
You can also use Battery Control (Trial). There is a option with auto brightness, much easier then this tut

Disable max. brightness of the display in camera app

Hello,
this is pretty annoying but everytime I open camera app to take some pictures or videos the brightness of the screen jumps to max and stays there until I exit the app... Is there any way to disable this? I want the same brightness I have set. If I go out in the night the screen is very bright and eats my battery like crazy..you dont need max brightness in camera app when there is no sun in the sky...
Is there any way, modification, xposed module, flashable zip, anything that can help with this?
Thank you very much for answers, any kind of help is appreciated...

How to: Enable HDR mode

We do indeed have HDR support, but it may be disabled by default and can only run on select apps.
1. Install a custom launcher like Nova or activities shortcut creator
2. Create an activities widget or gesture shortcut
3. Go to Settings
4. Find and select ’Video Enhancer’
5. Launch it and it will reveal the hidden setting
Alternatively, use the Magisk module HiddenSettings and modify the setting: hdr_effect 1
How to test if HDR is real:
Download an hdr video from 4kmedia.org. Change to full brightness and set screen mode to Adaptive. Hide navigation bar (use the quick shortcut). Play the video in the native video player. You'll then slowly swipe up on the Recents button, but without taking your finger off.
You should notice UI and graphics appear vivid. This indicates presence of gamma being applied. When you release your finger HDR is switched off. Saturation is a hue value, while gamma is brightness (how light or dark a pixel is). The real test would be to know if they are doing real-time processing, which is how actual HDR on TV works.
Hy is it possible doing this without using magisk ? or should we root the phone

Hello! I have the Ugoos UT8 Pro, android box. HDR only activates when watching an HDR video, but when the video is off, the screen goes back to SDR. This method you speak of, can it be done on my device to force enable HDR?
