I read that One UI 5.0 is released for S7 Plus in Europe. Lets discuss links and other options on how to flash it.
I am updating right now from Spain
Weirdly, Frija still shows Android 12 as the latest version. Anybody know which CSC I can use to download the latest full version for odin?
EUX shows Android 13
EUX,XEF, DBT, PHE,AUT... for T976B

Thank you for this. Flashed it after reading this. Working flawlessly.
For those who have already installed it, can you tell me if all the Good Lock modules are still working? In particular, I'm using the larger 10 x 7 Home Screen grid that's only available in HomeUp. I'd appreciate if someone can check if this still works under OneUI 5.0 on the S7+ ?

All Good Lock modules are updated to One ui 5,You just have to install the update after updating to One UI5, worth the redundancy.
I can concur, updated to One UI 5.0 (Android 13) and all seems uber stable and no loss of functionality.
Just received the update on my S7+ in the US. Installing now.
Still no update for my unlocked Fold4 though...

Same, nothing for my ZF4 yet. Not really convinced there's much benefit to OneUI 5.0 on the Tab S7+ so not sure it's such a big deal the ZF4 is laggging a bit.
I installed One UI 5.0 on my regular Tab S7 (11 inch, EUX) and have to admit that I am very dissapointed. Samsung promised way more fluent animations, no annoying start-up lags anymore and an overall improvement in System stability. Non of that happens to be the case. My Tablet feels more laggy, compared to One UI 2.5/3.1.1. Even the Android Easter egg only gets shown on one side instead of full screen, which seems to be bug (No the pictures are not edited)
In my opinion, they rushed this update too fast, so that they can prove the point of releasing updates quicker than ever before now.
I will try out two things this week:
1) Reset the Tablet and see how it performs with 5.0 being freshly, clean installed
2) Downgrade to One UI 3.1, which, for me, was the last update that really changed something noticabely on my Tablet.
I miss those older days (2016-2020 especially), when new Android versions really changed things and introduced cool new stuff. Nowadays, I feel like we're stuck with the same Design and the same features with little to no changes after all.

Android 12 was a big one. But yeah, I also noticed the Easter egg. It doesn’t even work.
Hi all,
I found myself opening a lot of tabs on XDA to figure out on how to upgrade my Tab S7+ Wifi - SM-T970 to newer Firmware versions while retaining Root (magisk). This is why I made myself a short guide. Then I decided to share it with you and the short guide went from short to medium sized.
I hope it helps. (The resources/drivers/programs I used can be found at the bottom of this comment. (no links, but Google will help you out)
Firmware Upgrade Guide Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ | SM-T970 | CSC:EUX | while keeping/retaining Magisk Root.
1.Download Latest firmware on PC via Frija (CSC:EUX & Model:SM-T970 for me)
2.Extract ZIP Open extracted directory and delete ZIP.(I like to keep a clean overview, so optional)
3.In the directory you find BL, AP, CP, CSC & HOME_CSC files. If you use the Wifi only version of the Tablet, you can remove the CP file.
This leaves the BL file (should be left untouched), AP file & CSC & HOME_CSC files.
Choose one of the two CSC files to keep.
4.a. Want to Keep your data? Use Home_CSC....tar.md5 file using ODIN, other file can be removed.
4.b. Factory reset? Use other CSC file instead.
5.Move (not copy, but move) AP file (AP......tar.md5) to Tablet and patch whole file in Magisk (I am using the latest Canary Magisk version)
When this is done, move the patched AP file called magisk_patchedsomethingsomething back to the first extracted directory (step 2) AP-file name does not matter.
Connect tablet to PC with USB.
Using Terminal in ADB directory, use " adb devices" to check if PC can find tablet when tablet operates normally. Use command " adb reboot download" to boot the tablet directly into download mode.
Open ODIN (no settings need to be adjusted in ODIN other than selecting the correct files)
In ODIN,
Select AP ---select ---> magisk_patched.#######.tar
Select BL ---> BL_####.tar.md5
Select CSC ---> HOME_CSC_####.tar.md5
OR use CSC_####.tar.md5 if factory reset is required
Click Start. Wait. And enjoy!
Resources used:
-Friji v1.4.4 for downloading latest firmware real fast.
-Minimal ADB Fastboot v1.4.3.exe for minimalistic ADB-installation
-Samsung USB Driver for Mobile Phones (for PC to recognize the tablet in Download mode)

Hi, today I've received an OTA update for my IdeaPad A3000-H (3G+WiFi, 16GB).
Old version: A3000_A422_011_022_140127_WW_CALL_FUSE
New OTA version: A3000_A422_013_025_140624_WW_CALL_FUSE
For now, the only thing I noticed was the different boot animation.
I have attached the image of the updated version (The language is set to Italian).

Hi there,
I received the same update today, but after downloading and rebooting, nothing happened, the update simply not installed!
After some useless retries, I used the CWM to install the archive from the folder sdcard0/googleota/ and it did work, for no clear reasons..
The difference so far I notice is only the boot logo ? but I believe there should be other benefits

Hi, its very strange... but its important that you were able to install it!
However, my device isn't rooted and maybe, in your case, CWM has blocked update... (this happened to me on a rooted smartphone!)
With this OTA update, my A3000 seems more stable, with fewer reboots than before (old version: once a day; new version: once a week!)

This new update is only OTA!
To get this OTA update, you must have the "old" version, dated 2014-01-27!
Then search new version, from Android settings (see attached image)!

Strange, this is never happened with my Sony Xperia tipo.. Anyway, you are missing a lot with your mobile not being rooted ?
I noticed the battery life got somewhat longer, there still no way to move apps to the sdcard.
And the Android version still the same ???? #I_want_Kitkat (Heh, don't be silly.. The update was just 3.5Mb or so)
I forget to tell you that it you use my method of CWM upgrade and tried to check for other system updates you will be greeted with the same update install screen! Don't panic, Your system has already been updated.
Fix: just remove/rename the Googleota folder and retry update check, You should be refreshed with calming screen that tells you how you already have the latest version..

You're right! On smartphone I have TWRP, not CWM!
However, for now, I'm fine with the stock firmware (In the future I will evaluate to flash an unofficial ROM)
The battery works two days (over 24 hours, tablet is turned off at night) of normal use (wifi on, 3g on, bluetooth on, several phone calls every day, several app with push notifications).
In addition, 16 GB are so many, while having numerous apps installed (more than smartphone).
In the MicroSD card (the other 16 GB) I'll put my music, pictures and videos made with the camera!
I think it's unlikely that we'll see KitKat on A3000... All I want is find a solution to the problem of BT headset that does not detect anything when I use voice commands or voice recorder!!
The stock rom is just too good to be replaced ? the only feature I really miss is CM theme chooser because I don't like the default white on black theme of the settings' screens.. Sigh, you can't have everything, this device is by far the best I ever had.

I have personally tested the ROM on 2 devices over 50+ times.. Worked and Without unlocker tool from Asus..

Can I use this rom to upgrade to Marshmallow? Iam currently using lollipop OS. Will this delete all existing photos and videos in phone memory? I have a rooted ZX551ML 128gb variant. Thanks.

Are you saying there is no need to use the Asus unlocker tool?
Saw a bunch of warning on their site saying I have sign away the first born if I ever use it.
Also does the various memory make any difference? Since there are 32/64 and 128gb versions.
@GuilhermeXtreme can you kindly shred some light on this posts.

I see IODroids got it working so I assume it works fine.

Did you find d out what's different between the 2 version s z00x and z00a?
I saw a comparability listing showing it as a zenfone 2 model and not zoom. Although both seem to run same programs including camera app. Google camera can't access some specialised camera processing on these phones and pics come out looking bad in anything but sun light. I think so will all other camera apps.

You are absolutely correct, the major difference is camera.
I tried CleanStock MM which was based on Z00A base, everything worked except 2 important things (camera and mobile network, it was way too smooth comparatively).
Finally the OP of this thread @GuilhermeXtreme did the dirty work of porting the z00x base with his custom modifications, removing bloatware/rooting/magisk and other enormous stuff.
z00 or z00d varies because of hardware differences like 16, 32, 64, GB variants, different processors too.
Check wikipedia for more detailed information about this.
One thing I got to mention is, this phone uses Intel cisc CPU, installing Android apps not optimized for it draws more than twice the battery consumption. Not only does the CPU itself draw more power but the display does too. If all 3 are not synced the battery drains very fast. Even though Asus says install Google apps, I am not sure they are all optimized for Intel. Emulating is slower and also a power hog.
Just things I noticed while using it. During use the battery drain is huge. It will last 2 or 3 days with only phone use but not for apps. Using unoptimized apps drains battetyuch faster than on arm CPU. I went back to many Asus apps now which are huge in size but uses less power.
how to install xposed?
Nice work! Any chance of taking a peak at Lineage OS for this device?
There are many custom ROM for A5 and A3 but unfortunately no buddy comes with A7 2017
Very big strange
I am also wondering this. Seems like no one love A7 here.

There are a few custom ROMs for A7 2017 32GB model (A720F), you can find them here on XDA.
But I suggest care, there's talk the latest official firmware version blocks customization...
TWRP for example will cause a system lock and your phone can end up a nice paperweight (brick).
Also, don't block OEM RESET (always Allow Oem Reset in Developer options) if you use root / customs.
Samsung security may get you a FRP LOCK should you want to reflash.
Odin won't help if you need to downgrade to an older version (like a backup).
Fixes for such a situation are difficult at the moment.
I'm facing it right now and don't know if my phone will be back up and running again
ODIN'd a Stock Recovery and CP ROM, let's see in some hours!

Hummm!
Current situation: FRP lock.
Phone won't get off the boot logo (white screen, "Powered by Android") and FRP/OEM lock are in effect.
I relly shouldn't have fiddle with the new "Directional Lock" feature - Wich can't be disabled, btw.
For anyone in the same situation, pc tricks zone has some remedy but not for A720 at the moment.
I should also point that tutorial videos show an anti-virus alert they claim to be a false positive, but I don't know
- Can't be sure for I didn't try it, but one can't be too cautious. The tool (ADB enabler for FRP) was clean here, says Avira.
But I'm still stuck with ADB/sideload disabled, the stock ROM I found on updato is in ZIP format, useless for ODIN and ADB-e.
ROM files can't simply be converted from ZIP to TAR, they must be cooked - With a "kitchen" tool and a lot of proper knowledge that I, a simple noob/leecher, don't have.
So until finding a TAR file for stock Android 7 (Rev 2) I'm denied access to my US$400 phone just cause Samsung says so.
[A little rant, if I may]
Thanks Samsung will (greed) to enter the digital payment market and enforce security, I, a simple home user who likes the cool mods, debloated systems, freedom and privacy of a custom ROM, (not to mention A720 camera software sucks,) am locked out of my (theirs?) phone. Not buying Sammy again...

Right, Elite was first I saw a few months back. Not much custom, just stock with a few adjustments,
but thanks the guy who gave us at least that.
Considering A7 is the worst snapper phone I saw so far and it is not even mentioned in Samsung's USA support site,
nobody will care to develop, I guess.
The A7 is dead. Hello chimium (chinese cheap premium)?

It is v4 and it worked just fine without triggering the knox.. Did a smart switch & samsung account backup before I downgrade at the version I mentioned (latest before UI 2.5 that is) and everything works just fine. I already feel the difference in battery life.. /sigh
Will probably stay here until UI 3.0 if I don't see any other important feature added. Only some camera features I'll miss but battery is the most important thing and I'm not willing to sacrifice an hour or two of SoT for UI 2.5
Thanks all for your help

I used G988BXXS4ATGB/G988BOXM4ATGB (EUR for GR) with security patch 2020-08-01 as I previously mentioned and it didn't stuck at anything.. Passed w/o triggering the knox of course and works like a charm.
Already feel the difference in battery life as I mentioned. Used the standard flash procedure I changed nothing
Has anyone else noticed this?
I'm on the XSA CSC running December security patch (OneUI 2.5) and it does not have the animation. I've also received reports that OneUI 3.0 still doesn't have the animation for some reason (from Reddit), and it seems like a strange omission to me considering the phone has the specs to be more than capable of it. If you are not sure what I mean, check this video:

(screen recording taken from Galaxy S10 on OneUI 2.0)
Thanks
Is it a bug or did they decide just not to have it?
I'm using the OneUI 3.0 and don't have the animations... Samsung is kidding us with the S20 FE?

Seems like a bug to me, it doesn't make sense that they would choose not to include it as it's a fairly small thing and a whole range of devices have it including the "budget" S10e from last year.

Thats exacly my problem too. I don't think this is a bug, because it's very noticable... this was a problem in 2.5, And I am in one ui 3, and this is Still a problem.... I don't understand samsung....
Nothing new, Samsung has removed it from a couple of "lite" (or in this case, FE) variants. It can be added with root by editing a file in vendor called floating feature. Doubt Samsung would re-add it, but who knows.
Btw, I'm talking about the Note 10 Lite, it doesn't have it by default either.

What line would I need to add/edit? This will be good to know if I ever decide to root.

I made my own little tutorial here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/samsung-galaxy-a71-working-mods.4173295/
But to jump straight into this edit in question, it's the following:
The floating_features.xml file in question can be located in system(root)/vendor/etc
Add AOD to lockscreen clock animation:
Note: This only works on OneUI 2.5, does not work on OneUI 2.1 and below for A71.
Search for the following line in floating_features:
Code:
<SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_FRAMEWORK_CONFIG_AOD_ITEM>
Add clocktransition in this line, like this:
<SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_FRAMEWORK_CONFIG_AOD_ITEM>aodversion=7,clearcoveroff,clocktransition</SEC_FLOATING_FEATURE_FRAMEWORK_CONFIG_AOD_ITEM>
Save and reboot. Done, there will be an added animation from AOD to lockscreen clock.

Nice thank you heaps for this!!! I'm just curious, is there any way to edit this file without root and retain Knox 0x0? I suppose not since it's a file located in vendor, but can't hurt to ask!

I've looked but so far I haven't seen that it's possible. Mainly because you can't mount system/vendor as read-write without root, even with adb. I personally don't know of a way.

hi, i did everything you wrote, but i can't save the floating feature xml on my phone. I tried to edit it on my PC, but then when i pasted it to the correct folder replacing the old one, it just magically recovered to it's old version, not including my edited lines, without any error message... What can i do?

Oh, i'm using Root Browser, and when i tried to save the edit on that, It said "Error saving edit" or something like that... do i need a permission of some kind?
sorry for spamming. I found out the problem. I didn't know what rooting the phone is. Now i know, and im not in that level to take care of a rooted phone, I just wanted a cool animation

Hi, I just had a thought come to me, would it be possible to modify the stock firmware file that is flashed in Odin (the AP .tar file) with the edited version of floating_feature.xml, stored in vendor.img? Would this flash successfully and maintain Knox 0x0? Or would it see the slightly modified AP file as a custom binary and thus void Knox?

Your second assessment is correct, just unpacking and repacking AP detects it as custom firmware and therefore would trip Knox.
This is a very weird thing in the sense that a Galaxy M31 (which is a very low-mid range phone) has that animation enabled and also it runs OneUI Core
