INTRO​
Let's continue the fun!
This project is a continuation of doixanh's personal ROM, known as GingerDX.
("Ginger" as in "Gingerbread", and "DX" as in short for "doixanh")
Brought to you by TeamFun:
eagleeyetom, djnilse and AChep.
As set in stone by doixanh, the main goal is to have a fast, smooth and lightweight CM7 based ROM with some special features.

• Enable it in Settings -> CyanogenMod settings -> GingerDX settings
• Type the number in the dialer
• Move it to your ear (or pull your finger on the proximity sensor and hold the phone vertically) and the number will be called
• Same in Mms, there it just calls the number of the chat/sms you're reading

Great rom it is my new daily rom but you forgot to add *ICSified Settings i tried to use other ics modified settings from other cm7 rom's but it gives me FC's in brightness settings

A nice rom. Do you think to make a new update. If you are when you can. I look forward to. ICS Setting add pleas.

Todat I flashed this rom. Looks very good, fast en smooth! :good:
I only have some problems with the internetconnection. When I lock and unlock my Gio mostly of the time he doesn't connect itself to my wifinetwork. I also can't get a connection to my mobile internetprovider
Is there someone who had the same problem? Or someone who knows a solution?

After setting up the mobile internetconnection for the 4th time, now it works
It also seems that my wifi connection keeps working now. I'll post an update in a few days for these "problems".
Is it also possible to make al little change in the contactslist? If I want to combine two contacts (i.e. a facebook contact and googlecontact) to 1 contact I need to go to the contact, menu -> edit, menu -> combine. Normaly you can combine two contacts by longpressing the contact. You'll get a menu and select "combine".

I'm still happy with this rom
It's fast and stable, no problems with Wifi and mobile internet anymore. Both are working without problems
Only 2 other things:
- my battery is emtpy in 12hours, that's a little bit to fast
- I don't receive notifications when I have a new email in Gmail (I checked the notificationsettings 3 times, they are oke)
Are these bugs known? Is there a solution for?
Who can help me?

Okay so this Ron looks promising and latest as well! I will try it and let you all know about it anytime soon :good:

Flashed 21/7/2017 build. With open gapps.
Short review.
I already had wrote about my experience on this Rom so will not bore u more guys
*Smooth+stable+fluid +no lags+snappy
*All customizations been provided like other latest roms have.
Note: Substratum theme engine is not pre installed.
*You get two themes by default
1st Light nd 2nd is Dark.i loved Dark black theme.
* Volte is working without any issues.
* No fc in any app except music equalizer .Its not working(report if anyone got working).
Dev plz fix this "Equalizer issue"
* Battery .i got 4hr SOT which is good but not the best.Hope we will see more battery improvements in next builds.
Conclusion : No doubt Viper has very strong venom to feel in our vein. As i told ago this rom is in my Top 5 list till now nd can be used as Daily driver.my

Anyone having issues with video playback on social media apps? Instagram Stories and video posts don't play for me, ans sometimes when I'm watching a video post on Facebook the phone reboots.

On Instagram it works fine but on Facebook my phone also reboots. I have a z00t

When iam using mobile data google ads are poping even on home screen.... Using nova launcher prime
My device z00l 2gb ram varient

Video is working fine in my zool device. Only problem I faced was phone doesn't respond when the call is over. Call end button won't response at all . I have to click switch off button on/off and then end the call another 10 sec wasted on this.

I found the proximity sensor only works for a few minutes after booting up, after that no working proximity, any help please? Thank you

wht is the avg sot on this rom

Sot

Sensor is not working , when incoming call comes screen won't wake up at all.. Same happens while ending the call screen won't response or awake and it difficult to cut the call..

Google play services battery optimization not available. This really helps in getting better battery life. Please make it available. Also aps ops like in AEX is useful to stop apps from keeping device awake. Pleaee Include app ops.

You can use a magisk module for google play services optimizations. It's free
And about that app ops, if it isn't included in the features, you can't. The OFFICIAL maintainer cant change anything within the ROM, as they need to stay true to the sources of ViperOS itself.

Good battery life, good performance, smooth and stable as the 2.1 build, and with the latest camera blobs the camera is really good
All in all the quality is the same as I liked in the 2.1 build, I was using AEX and miss the possibility to add Recent Swipo to switch apps using the u touch as stock, but will stay on viper os since it have the best battery life on nougat with minimal "fiddling".
I've played Legion of Heroes (heavy game) for about 30 minutes and the phone stayed cold and dropped just 2% of battery, a really good result

I'm not using the Viper theme, still using good ol substratum theme.

It is similar to AOSPA colour engine....you can change primary and accent colours without substratum themes

Does VOLTE work on this awesome ROM. Please answer. I'm new to this ROM thing and do not hesitate to make fun of me if you can answer the question.

Nougat on this old device? Awesome!
Mine has been relegated to a kids toy now, but I might give it a flash and see. Would certainly put some new life into an old phone with Nougat.

Do we have to be on a marshmallow version before moving to nougat?

After installing for a week, OTG is not working. I even reboot and tried but no luck. After a couple of week of using and testing, OTG suddenly working fine. I don't know what happened but it worked the last time I tried to transfer files to my OTG flash drive.

Nice ROM.
Fast, dark-eable without need of theming, and very stable to be used as a daily driver.
Power consumption is remarkable, surely less than 1% per hour, a good result for a Nougat ROM.
Curiously, there is something different than other 7.1.2 ROMS I tested on my N7100 Intl:
the keyboard seems able to respond (even if partially and not with all apps) when I call it popup with S-Pen.
it is anyway a good step forward...

Any feedback about this Rom on AT&T Note 2 would be appreciated. I know there in the OP saying it's compatable, just want to make sure before I flash it.

Used a few Days now. Works fine, but sometimes Screenrotation doesnt work. Then i have to reboot.
Hope you can solve the last Problems. For now its my Daily OS.

Can anyone tell how to increase sound in viper os..the default sound level is very low..i've tried editing the speaker sound value in root\etc\sound\m0 which works on all los based roms.. but on this one its not working

I know that lmao

The hardware recents button is not launching recents or split screen. On the other hand software nav bar works great. also my sim is not detected

Download the ril fix file that has the telephony-comon.jar and use a root explorer to replace the one contained in root/system/framework. Reboot you device after it's done. You have to wait a lot before the device boots up again.
