G-988U WON'T MAKE CALLS - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

The question I have is can I change the model number of my phone? My issue is that 2 years back I brought a Verizon s20 ultra model G-988u but it's unlocked for any carrier so I activate it with cricket and I didn't had any issues at all after few months using it I cracked the screen by accident so I stop using it for few months, now a week ago I fixed it and activate it again with cricket but to my surprise the calling service doesn't work this time, I tried everything and they did too but still not working, the only thing they said it could be the problem was that the only version compatible was the model G-988u1, so I'm thinking that could be the problem, is there anything I can do or change to fix this problem? I have clear the phone app cache, restart network services, change a new sim card, update the latest software, change the apn, but nothing worked, Thanks in advance.

Sim unlocked, can't use phone on same network

Hi,
I recently went to India and thought it would be cheaper there to get my note 2 unlocked but, the person who tried unlocking my device got mad at me as my phone was rooted. He said, everyone wants to be a developer nowadays and thus it made his job harder. He asked me the model number of my phone as it shows GT-N7105 because I have DN3 v 5.2 installed but it is actually sgh-i317m from Telus in Canada. He gave up and said he was unable to do it. After coming back home, my original sim that I have been using in the same phone, does not work anymore. There is no network. My wife's sim card, which is from another provider, works now though it never did before. I though there could be something wrong with my sim card so I tried it in an old phone and it works perfectly in it. What would you suggest, I should do to try and resolve this problem? I am thinking of erasing everything from my phone and factory resetting it. Eagerly waiting for your expert suggestions!
Just to add: I chose factory reset option from under the settings menu and wiped all my data but it still does not work with my sim. I also, went under the available networks settings, chose the option to search networks and then selected mine (telus) but it say's no service (telus) not available. There is another message in the notification bar, which reads "data roaming: You have lost data connectivity because you left your home network with data roaming turned off". I am not sure if that tells you something related to my problem but I though I should mention that as well.

Galaxy S9 Software Update

I have a Galaxy S9 (SM-960U) purchased from T-Mobile, but unlocked and running with an AT&T SIM (among others, at times). Up until today, the phone was running the stock T-Mobile ROM which received various software updates on a monthly or every two month interval. I've installed them as they were released (while running various non-T-Mo SIM cards) and the latest was October 1, 2018. Today, I clicked the "Software Update" function and saw that a new update was available. When it installed and restarted, I noticed that the phone was running an AT&T branded ROM, along with the typical AT&T bloatware (e.g., CNN, Groupon, Amazon, AT&T-specific apps) that was not previously installed.
The other thing I noticed was that the phone now is only connecting to HSPA and HPSA+ networks, whereas before it would also connect to LTE.
I'm not sure why I suddenly received and installed an AT&T-branded ROM today when my S9 and all of my previous devices were fine running the T-Mo ROM and receiving updates as they were released. Does anyone have any insights as to what caused this change and whether future ROM updates will be carrier-specific based on the inserted SIM? In the past month I've used SIMs in Vietnam and Japan and it seems odd that ROMs would suddenly be based on the carrier of the day.
Also, any ideas about restoring LTE service? I've tried removing the SIM and powering off the device a few times, but no dice. This was a network/account-problem when I initially ported over to AT&T from T-Mo which took a lot of troubleshooting at the store (unsure of actual root cause), but it seems odd that a software update on the device would undo that.
The latest update (3BRJ5) is BYOD firmware. With B firmware, a carrier sim will change the csc of your phone to match the network you are connected on. Good luck getting LTE back, I have no idea on that.
*#*#4636#*#* entered into phone dial. That will allow to select preferred network type in device information.

The issue required a visit to the AT&T store, where they replaced the SIM and reset some of the network features on the back end of my account. This required a call to the retail technical support team and about 45 min. No settings were changed on the phone. The APN settings were already configured correctly (which I had confirmed as a part of initial troubleshooting).
The phone works fine now, though some features like AT&T HD Voice and the AT&T Call Protect app still don't work. I've tried contacting them twice about it and they opened a ticket but it hasn't helped. These aren't features I used before so I don't really care.

Keep in mind though that HD voice only available to postpaid At&t only not prepaid and they do required special sim card for hd voice but since you already changed sim card then the problem is not the sim card. You can try and dial #*#*4636*#*# and see if Volte is provisioned.. I wish i had my s9+ from tmobile but i dont have it anymore i was waiting for that byod software update.. Hd voice should work on BYOD custimization update on at&t

Phone stopped receiving and making calls

hi everyone, i have a lg G7 EMW for almost two years now. as said my phone its an EMW, although I use the EM variant ROM for more than a year because of the lack of updates. never had any issues before.
some weeks ago i had to make a call and noticed it was not working, at first i though it was a cover area issue with my carrier, since it was a place a little far away.
but in the following weeks i started noticing a lot of messages saying 'a number called you and did not left a message' and them i realised that the phone actually never ringed, so i started making some tests and realised it was not making or receiving calls.
i cannot acess all the settings in 'call settings menu' it return me an error saying "network or sim card error" but my 4G internet connection and SMS in the other way, works fine.
I already tried my SIM card in another phone, It worked normal. then i tried another SIM in my G7 and it has not worked also.
i have also tried to go back to my country open rom in a fresh install, but nothing changed.
yesterday after receive a cell broadcast notification, it worked for a short period an them stopped again, so i suspect may be some problem with the network, seems intermittent somehow
have any of you faced similar issue or know any solution? is there something i can do in service menu to see if its a hardware problem?

There were networking changes, so you need a sim card that is compatible with these changes.
If your SIM was purchased two years ago, it may not be compatible.
Just contact your phone provider, whoever it is, and ask them to sell you a compatible LTE Sim card. I had to buy one from Net10/Safelink for 99 cents, because the one I bought two years ago from Best Buy for "Net10" was not compatible with the new changes. All phone service providers should have a "buy your own sim" program, so just contact them for it.
check all necessary information in phone's settings about section.
Is any information missing there or blank?

i can give that a try but i'm not sure, my LTE and SMS seems to work normal, it is only the calls the problem.
the other SIM card i tested on my G7 was from a different carrier and the problem persisted
also my sim worked normal on other phone (Moto G5 Plus)

Call your carrier and ask them if they are using VOWIFI and VOLTE for their calls now.
The phone falls back to 3G mode on calls.
If the SIM or the tower you connect to is not provisioned for VOWIFI/VOLTE, the calls will use 3G.
if the tower is provisioned for VOWIFI but your SIM is not, then the calls will fail. SMS will not fail since that's LTE already.

This problem arises when particular phone has lost phone identification numbers such as S/N, IMEI SV and mainly IMEI. if it's the case then you must try flashing latest stock firmware for you model.

No service (can't turn on radio)

Hello, my pixel XL has been off for a while since my screen was broken but I fixed it yesterday and I started using it to a shocking surprise. I couldn't make a call or use the radio service whatsoever but checking in my network connection I could see my cell carrier, I thought maybe it's my sim card so I tried 2 different sim cards but there was nothing still. Did a research and I was directed to use this code (*#*#4636#*#*) but it didn't work still, I did reset the network settings and the phone but still nothing. At this time I was using the pixel dust custom ROM. Tried reinstalling the stock ROM and still nothing, please help I love this phone too much

Verizon SIM card corrupting unlocked note 10 Plus

Hi so after I fixed a customer's note 10 plus that had a completely borked and shattered display I decide to put my SIM card in it and restart the device to make a test phone call to make sure everything works before calling the customer telling him his phone is ready. Everything checks out however after I started to notice that the T-Mobile boot screen gets replaced with the Verizon boot screen some junk apps download automatically. Also an error message pops up saying "This is not a Verizon SIM card in this device" whenever a non Verizon sim card is in the note 10 plus which I couldn't get rid of doing everything in the software troubleshooting book (reset network settings, change some cellular settings, factory reset, called cricket and Verizon, etc.) and nothing worked. Didn't really bother the customer but after a week the customer's phone loses all ability to make and receive phone calls/texts, every time you try it just says "this phone is not registered with this network." I tried factory resetting the device and even flashing T-Mobile firmware into it using Odin and still, same bull**** results as before. My question is, has this happened to anyone else here and if so has anyone ever fixed this problem? Uuugghhh.
