Screen turns on when phone is charging and it reaches ~83% - Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite Questions & Answers

My phone's screen is turning on for a moment while charging and i noticed that it's doing it everytime when the charge reaches 83%. I'm on stock rom. Does anyone know why it's happening and if it can be disabled somehow ?

Cool feature!
Maybe it's a nightly warning when the optimum charge level is reached?
Does it also happen during the day?

Yeah, it does happen during the day.
I've noticed since my post that it is not always at 83%, sometimes it's at 80, 81 or 82.
I still haven't figured out why.
My current theory is that it was supposed to turn on once it reached 100% but a bug reading the battery level is causing it to turn on before. If in the next weeks it starts doing so at 79%, 78% and so forth it could prove this theory right.

Charge drops to 90% straight away!

In the morning, I take the phone off charge at 100%, and it will then drop to 90% within the first 5mins (with no use)
Sometimes it charges until 90% and the light goes green and it does not continue charging to 100%.
To fix this I have to take out the charger and put it back in, it then charges to 100% like it should.
Anyone else have this problem? Its really inconvenient, if its not a software issue, should I cal t-mobile to have the battery replaced?
Thanks
I'm not sure but try this: uplug the power, restart the phone and then charge it and see if fully goes through.
Someone here once wrote that if he restarts the phone while charging it (he was talking about the Hero btw) it doesn't register the correct battery charge!
Just a thought. If that doesn't work then call them to replace the battery/phone.
I read somewhere else that the phone does not trickle charging once it is full, so what is probably happening is the phone fully charges, then gradually loses some of its charge, though I'm not 100% on that.
Ah just found the link where I read about the charging issue http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=658338
I have seen mine do the same (once) except it went from 100% to 91% - literally in seconds though.
Some have said it's a bug in the Android OS (?)
I found updating to fw .11 has made a difference for me.
I also removed Sky Sports news app ( not sure if coincidence that it's ok again since doing both those)
May install Sky app again to see.
Sometimes apps can cause problems.
How do you check the specific level of the battery? i tried pressing it in the top bar but nothing....

Yep, upgrading the firmware and removing apps can improve battery performance.
I would suggest you pull out the battery a few times and then try a full discharge/charge to reset the digital circuit of the battery to improve the state-of-charge estimation.

Hello, I will try a complete battery drainage, til it wont switch on, and then see if it is fixed.
So far my full drains have been to 1%.
I will report back

Ny phine only charged to 98 last night its now 94% after 20 mins. I hot it up to 100 but that quick a drop is not right. It's now 92%!
Ok, so last night I ran my phone down til it switched off, switched it on again and waited for it to turn off. I did this continuously til the power button no longer worked. I then took out the battery and replaced it. Then I put it on charge without having the phone switched on.
Turned the phone on today and it was at 99%. Its now 95% so the charge seems weak, but it seems to have improved since the 90%?
Maybe after a few more full calibrations it will be fine. I will try this for another couple of days and see if it helped.
After 2 days of running it down to 0 and charging while switched off, I got good battery life with the charge holding up to 100% quite well
So today I decided to charge it while it was switched on, and it charged to 100%, a couple of minutes later and its below 90% again!
I don't know why this is happening because it seems to work fine when charged while switched off, but not when its on.
What should I do?

Exactly same thing happened with mine this morn and I definitely became alarmed. It only charged to 99% when on and the charge fell very fast to 90% within 40mins of just standby - not even WiFi on.
So then I charged it to 99% while on and then switched it off disconnecting and reconnecting the charger. Turning it on 5mins later, it was back at 100% again. Browsed web using WiFi and updated all apps and widgets for 22mins continuous before it dropped to 99% this time. Been fine since.

interesting because I can't seem to get rid of mine!
T-mobile think its a problem with my battery and are sending me a new battery to see if that fixes the issue. I will post back with an update on the topic when I get the new battery in a few days.
On the phone keypad, if you dial *#*#4636#*#*, you will be taken to a testing menu. In this menu there are options to see phone and battery information as well as usage statistics for apps.

Same thing I described above repeated itself this morn except that the charge dropped to 93% within 12mins this time - on standby with airplane mode and no WiFi or Bluetooth enabled. However, It's held steady after that. I poll battery charge, voltage, temperature and usage levels using the Testing notification icon (I use the BarControl app).

[Q] samsung galaxy s3 charging problem

Hi,
Ive been having problems while charging my phone. Usually i charge my phone from 11 pm to 7 am and sometimes when i wake up in the morning the battery light is green and it reads as 100% battery charge but the moment i disconnect the wire it instantly drops to 30-50%. Is anyone else having these issues?
Are you stock?
I have not had this problem and charge pretty much same as you. I am stock rooted with a few apps disabled and only had the phone since October.
Try this app
Also I'm pretty sure you shouldn't let it charge for so long, it will hinder you battery life in the long run. At least that's what I have read.

Option 1 : Clear battery stats
Option 2 : Get a new battery and 24 hour charge
Option 3 : Let the battery DIE, drop it in the freezer for a few hours, then 12 - 24 hour charge it again. Doing this though MAY (not always does) cause the water indicator to trip. Easiest solution I found for that was I vacuum sealed my battery THEN dropped it in the freezer. No air, no moisture, no trip.

I would also recommend trying this app. I tried it out a few days ago and it does seem to help out quite a bit.
I find mine drops instantly to 99%. Even sometimes when I'm at 74% and if I don't use it at all, I will check back and it goes up to 78% :-/

[Q] Battery drop after reboot?

I've been experiencing huge battery drops (from 10% up to 20%) after I reboot my phone. Is this a KitKat issue or is it my battery?
In the morning from 99% (after checking a few messages in the morning), I rebooted and I dropped 11% to 88%.
I think It may have been my battery giving me the huge drops. I don't seem to have this issue any more after buying a new one. :good:
I didnt found it on reboots, but i have this problem when i enter recovery. 20 minutes in recovery - i dont hace 20% of battery.

Hmmm that's strange.
I've noticed it usually drops more when I leave my headphones in.
full loaded ACE 2.
reboot cost u 5%
first 10 % gone in a few minutes for heavy users and in a few hours when deepsleep !!
what i wanna say.
the first 10 % gone in a few.
after that normal drain.
I often get this, although not as bad. I usually lose 2-5% on a reboot, sometimes up to 10%. The other week I charged it to 100% when it was off, turned it on and had 92%.
so is this actually a problem or is it normal for everyone?. Mine looses 5-8% in the first couple of minutes after I unplug the charger..

ok then, thanks...I just thought that this didn;t happen when I was on GB, but it doesn;t matter anyway..
If I reboot once, I will lose between 5 - 10% battery. However, if I reboot straight after the first reboot, I will lose between 0 - 2% battery. I've never really understood this.

Battery Charging Issue
Is this normal?
When I charge my battery whether it be from mains or USB computer it charges ok, but as soon as it gets to 100% it still says charging for a little time and doesn't report the unplug charger message right away.
With the Jellybean 4.1.2 system I don't get the alert tone when the battery reaches FULL, therefore I have a feeling that when it still says charging even though it's showing 100% that it's actually decreasing power at that point, any help please?
I have tried other batteries, and one in particular goes from 90% right up to 100% and seems to miss that last 10 percent, so I don't use that one now.
I have the most current firmware installed.
Buy a new one

when it says 100%, you still have to wait for a few minutes before it displays the green "full" icon in the upper left corner and asks you to disconnect the charger.
However, the first 5-8% always drains REALLY fast and not proportionally to the rest of the battery drain...
I think It may have been my battery giving me the huge drops. I don't seem to have this issue any more after buying a new one.

what about the initial drain? does the first 10% still drop fast or has this changed too with the new battery?
I just wish that JellyBean 4.1.2 would give an alert sound when the battery has reached it's full limit like Gingerbread used to do.
Who would be the best place to ask them to do this on their next update?
But I think that it does..a very short one indeed, but it does, along with the screen lighting up briefly..

It could be due to calibration issue. Try using your phone's battery all the way to 0% and it'll shut down automatically and turn it off to charge all the way to full and use it. If the problem still persists, there could be some issues with the battery but if the issues doesn't exist anymore, it could be calibration issue.

I've seen this happen (either to me, or reports by others) on just about every recent Android device I've owned (4 different devices), not just HTC, but Samsung as well. The battery seems to tank instantaneously, losing 30 or 40% of its charge or more, and the device shuts down. Doesn't usually happen often, just rarely. And some folks will probably never see it happen.
As mentioned above, I can only assume its a metering glitch. Just recharge the device (recalibrate the meter, if you like), and move on.

Have you tried a hardware battery recalibration?
The battery calibration starts with the phone completely off. The steps are as follows: Charge the device for at least 10 minutes using the original charging cable in a wall outlet. With the device powered off while still plugged into the wall outlet, press and hold the volume up, volume down and power button for two full minutes. Use three fingers to hold these buttons and do not let go at any time. They will be held in at the same time for this to work. After two minutes, you can let go. At this point, the device should boot up and battery/charging logic will be re-calibrated.

I have also charged the phone to 100% reboot to TWRP charge to 100% then shut down and charge to 100%
all three locations monitor the battery differently. In fact TWRP sometimes showed 93% when the OS said it was full.
I've never heard of button combos affecting the battery calibration, and it sounds like a placebo to me. I also think the trick of charging the phone while off was disproved as baloney, a long time ago.
All the meter needs to do is set "high" and "low" flags to corresponding voltages. I seriously doubt any button pushing will affect this. Let the phone charge to 100%, let it stay on the charge for a while to ensure any saturation charge. Then drain to close to empty. I don't personally advise to drain to shutdown. I understand its not zero voltage or anywhere close (more like 3V). But its also not good for the battery.

Well the information come from the Android Forums ...it has worked for others
This is directly from HTC tech support. To recalibrate battery and HTC charger when battery rapidly or erratically discharges, this procedure clears all battery stats, coordinates and normalizes charging.
Turn off Fast Boot in settings. Power off phone.
Plug phone into HTC charger and charge for two minutes or more
While charging, hold down volume up+volume down+power button and continue holding
Phone will turn on and off repeatedly every 15 seconds or so while continuing to hold all three buttons
Keep this going for 2 minutes, then release buttons when phone is ON
Now, let phone charge fully normally (with phone either on or off--doesn't matter) and battery level reporting, charging and battery life should be normalized.
Do this every month or so to keep power system healthy--even if everything seems fine. Also, don't leave phone on charger overnight for best long term battery life (according to HTC tech support: "The first thing they tell us." This is true even though charging is supposed to turn off when battery is at 100%)
NOTE: Another potential fix for battery/charging abnormalities if this procedure fails (esp. after an OTA update when corrupted files can remain stuck in device cache partition)--clear cache partition using this method:

Citing the source and providing details makes it sound a little less hokey. Still, probably impossible to say whether it really "works", or just a placebo.
Not sure what "coordinates and normalizes charging" if anything. But battery stats was debunked some time ago as something even worth wiping (since its wiped every time you charge): http://www.xda-developers.com/android/google-engineer-debunks-myth-wiping-battery-stats-does-not-improve-battery-life/

Tested it a few times last days.
when the battery dropped from around 40% to 0% (and device went off).
i charged it for about 10 minutes.
then dit the trick with the three buttons.
i was surprised to see that after rebooting the battery level was 35%.
Before i did the trick the phone showed 5%
But sad enough the device went off after 15 minutes..
and the percentage was 0 again.

Question I am losing battery charge even after I enable bypass charging during gaming

I noticed that my battery charge went from 65% to 59% during an hour or more of gaming even though I had enabled the bypass charging feature in the gamespace menu. I did not have my RGB turned on either. Though the rate of power loss is low but I haven't noticed it happen before. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this on their phone?

Yes that keep happening to me after Android 12, so don't wory yr phone is ok but the software is sh*t, I will try to turn on gamespace switch and enabling charge separation to see what will happe, I will tell u the results.
It is happening to me precisely that the low battery with the separation of active charge can drop 2 or 3% with a 1 hour session before, it did not do it to me, what could be due
