As the title states, I have a Pixel 5a running lineage os 19.1 with Android 12. I am unable to get the Now Playing feature working. It keeps saying either "No internet, connect to wifi" (even when I'm connected to WiFi) or it will say "waiting to download database" but never does. I'm not sure if I'm missing a Google services app or if I accidentally uninstalled something I need. I do have Magisk and am play store verified if that helps. Thank you!

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 GT-P5210 and have installed TWRP and cm-12.1-20150505-UNOFFICIAL-p5210.zip together with open_gapps-arm-5.1-stock-2016-02013, and all was ok. Now about 2 weeks ago although there was a wifi signal, there was an exclamation mark against it and no internet connection.
I tried to sort that out with no luck and then decided to start over again. Using TWRP, I wiped the relevant folders, then re installed cm-12.1-20150505-UNOFFICIAL-p5210.zip again. When I rebooted into the sytem, there were minimal icons, but no play store and a browser that was locked to a particular website which it couldn't load.
WiFi was working ok now, so I then installed the open_gapps-arm-5.1-mini-20160203. I then rebooted into system and google maps wasn't working, and I had the exclamation mark back again on my wifi connection. I did try the stock version of open_gapps, but there were no google keyboard, no maps and no text to speach.
I had an idea of installing the firefox apk file but it wouldn't work giving and error: 'firefox won't run on this device (x86, 22)'
There is also no internet wifi connection when just install the bare bones OS. It's there at the first boot, but on a subseqent boot there is no internet
Update: I was checking some settings in my router and found that my GT-P5210 tablet was blocked in the MAC filter list. I removed it from the list and now it can connect to the net.
I installed this : cm-12.1-20150505-UNOFFICIAL-p5210.zip
then this: open_gapps-x86-5.1-micro-20160528.zip from here: http://opengapps.org/
The tablet runs fairly well except sometimes it is unresponsive, but that is something else to look at.
Certified Device/SafetyNet "CTS profile mismatch" with LineageOS 14.1 and Magisk 12.0
Edit: My motivation is that I want use apps which checks Google Certified Device status and existing root. For example Netflix or Banking Apps (just examples for apps that are performing those kind of checks).
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 WiFi (SM-T520, picassowifi, n2awifi).
I have LineageOS 14.1 (lineage-14.1-20170518-nightly-n2awifi-signed.zip) in combination with OpenGApps (open_gapps-arm-7.1-nano-20170525.zip) and Magisk (v12) installed on the tablet.
In the Magisk settings I have...
BusyBox: disabled
Magisk Core Only Mode: disabled
Magisk Hide: Enabled
Systemless host file: Enabled
SuperUser Access: Apps and ADB
WIth "Magisk Hide" I have activate every app that Magisk Hide shows me with the app selection.
I have restartet my tablet.
I have startet Magisk Manager app and run the SafetyNet check... it shows up the error: "CTS profile mismatch".
I have startet Google Play store app and within Play store app settings the "Device Certification" status is "Not certified".
Using the very same installation procedure from my tablet, my smartphone (OnePlus 3T) showed me a green "SafetyNet passed" status. I had to install a Magisk module dedicated for my OP3T to "fix" the Google Play store certification check.
The current situation leads to two questions:
How to pass SafetyNet check?
How to "fix" Google Play store device certification check?
Edit: "Developer Mode/Tools" and ADB are disabled.
It may not help you too much but I was able to get Super Mario Run, an app notorious for not working if safety net isn't working correctly, to work by uninstalling all interations of supersu completely and then installing the latest v13 beta of Magisk. I still get the "CTS Profile Mismatch" but when using the hide option, Mario Run started working again when it wouldn't even load before. Make a TWRP backup before you change anything though.
Netflix crashes, restart says "Sorry we cannot reach the Netflix server (-9)"
Weird issue on newly rooted Z2 with Magisk, no TWRP. On initial launch of Netflix, it crashed and when I restarted it cycled and gave the error "Sorry we cannot reach the Netflix server (-9). A call to Netflix was useless. I uninstalled/reinstalled. Really weird and the login screen never appears. I can confirm that other devices connect without issues on my network. I also tried turning wifi off and using the data network with no luck. Any ideas?
Thanks.
Install liboemcrypto disabler module on Magisk.
Netflix won't work with unlocked bootloaders but with this module it will work.
Marcowe, thanks!!! The module downloaded directly from within Magisk manager and now I get to watch without issue. I really appreciate your help. I did a thorough search but didn't see anuthing here on the Z2 force forum. Perhaps I should have extended my search to all of XDA.
you can do this also
with a file manager
Go to: /system/vendor/lib
Find the file "liboemcrypto.so" and delete it.
Reboot
I do this every time I flash a Rom or reset, it works for Netflix and Hulu
So this is an old android game. However, I have a patched version that'll run on more recent android versions. It requires you to have the data files with the downloaded updates because the servers are dead.
So far the game works on a 5T running LOS 18.1 and a S20 on stock.
However, on the 9 Pro with LOS18.1 the game says 'Update Checker' or 'Download these files' despite it already having the required files in 'Android/data'.
Also you're supposed to block the app in a firewall program or turn off WiFi and Mobile to prevent the 'Update Checker' from running. But despite doing both of those actions on the 9 Pro the game won't progress past either screen on the 9Pro.
I'm not sure how'd I'd go about solving this problem or if anyone has similar issues with old android apps.
I installed LineageOS barbet 18.1 and it went very smooth. The phone boots up and looks just like the GUI on my old Moto G7 Plus with LineageOS. I went through the first boot setup and it seemed like everything was working. Then, I inserted the SIM card and started the phone. In "Settings" under "Network & Internet" I select "Mobile network" and the only thing I see is a switch turned off and it wont let me turn it on. Under mobile data, it says, "no sim card". the same sim works in my other phone. I have taken it out and put it back in my old Moto G7 plus and it is recognized, however, it is not recognized in my new Google PIxel 5a. I have rebooted several times and closely examined and cleaned the SIM and reinstalled, with same results. Under "About phone" it says, SIM status "Not available". Why doesn't this phone see my SIM?
Android version 11

I have the same "No SIM card" issue on my new Japan-sourced pixel 5a. I've tried it with the latest three versions of LineageOS barbet 18.1, and none work. My SIM works in other phones.
The only things I've got installed are Magisk, and the RethinkDNS firewall.
I just found the following Pixel 5a issue on the LineageOS gitlab, which reports similar symptoms.
Pixel 5a - No Sim Card Detected - Confirmed Working On Google Android 11/12 (#4235) · Issues · LineageOS / issues / android · GitLab
Expected Behavior Pixel 5a should see the SIM card and connect to the mobile carrier.

Plus another similar: https://gitlab.com/LineageOS/issues/android/-/issues/4444
The solutions offered are a mix of "flash back to an exact stock image first" and "it works when MindTheGapps is installed"

i found out what I did wrong! There is an instruction I ignored in the very beginning at https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/barbet/install
"
Warning: Before following these instructions please ensure that the device is on the latest Android 11 firmware.
This is not necessarily the newest available version! Please up- or downgrade to the required version before proceeding (guides can be found on the internet!)."
so after the first try, I had barbet that was written for Android 11 on a phone that still had android 12 on its ROMs
My phone was version 12 and needed to be downgraded. Instead of using the normal download from lineageos, I installed a much larger file 1.6GB but I forgot where I got it. anyway, it worked.
