Chinese Version, No Fast Charge - Redmi Note 8 Questions & Answers

I have a Chinese version ginkgo. Then I've just flashed Pixel Experience rom, and it's Android 13. But it seems like the fast charge doesn't work. There's only 2.6W.
I flashed the Ryzen Kernel, but it didn't work.

Hello Eagle-no1,
I have the same tablet, and looking for Custom ROMs for it since 6-8 months now. So far found nothing, at least not for "Global" version of it.
Mine is the M2-801L model, with the latest official B208 ROM installed on it (Android 6.0).
If you need any details on official ROMs, check my other posts on that topic.
Custom ROMs for this tablet seem to be a pain in the back side, because of the Kirin 930 - official explanation (where the same CPU is on the other Huawei models like Honor P8 or X2 and still lots of custom ROMs are available for those) - not sure what would be the unofficial reason if any...
Hope this helps anyhow.
Have a nice day.
Kind Regards.

Questions about whyred with MIUI 9.5.19.0

Hey all,
I have a Xiaomi Redmi 5 Pro (whyred) Global version 4GB with MIUI 9.5.19.0 and after searching all threads I still have some doubts.
1. Is possible to unlock bootloader in this version?
2. If I unlock the bootloader:
2.1. will I be able to lock it again?
2.2. will I lose the FInd my phone feature?
2.3. will I lose the Fingerprint unlock feature?
2.4. will a custom ROM provide me the Find my phone and Fingerprint features if I lose them in the stock ROM?
3. If I unlock the bootloader will I be able to flash custom kernels and ROM?, remember MIUI 9.5.19.0.
4. It seems that QC3 is working for some users, but is it safe? Then which charger should I choose QC3 or QC2?
5. If I purchase a QC3 or QC2 charger should I also purchase a new data cable or the stock one it's that good?
6. Some custom ROMs have the tag Official. How can they be official if they are custom?
7. Some custom ROM has the tag OTA. What it means, that I'm able to get OTA updates from Xiaomi or that the custom ROM developers provide them.
Thank you very much !!
1 Yes
2.1 Yes
2.2 Maybe
2.3 No
2.4 Yes (you can use Google's android device manager service)
3 Yes
4 Our device supports QC 2.0 but SD636 willsupports QC 3.0 , with qc 2.0 or qc 3.0 charger you will hardlyget noticeable charging time difference
5 stock USB cable is enough
6 Official means ROM is coming from trusted source, this doesn't mean unofficial build is not trust worthy both are good.. only difference is you can download official builds from official website and unofficial build can be foundin androidfilehost website or from Google drive
7. OTA means over the air update . It will comes from custom ROM developer, just like MIUI software update you can download custom ROM OTA update and install it automatically

Stop spamming forum. 1 thread is more than enough. Spamming same thing in 4 threads is against the rules.

Discharging while Plugged in

I have Xiaomi Whyred (Redmi Note 5 Pro/AI) & I am on Lineage OS 17.1. While ROM is smooth, I have observed that my phone gets discharged as soon as I plug it in wall charger and start charging.
I have noticed this by switching back to STOCK Xiaomi ROM & found that it charges normally with this ROM.
I want to stay on Lineage OS owing to its simplicity & light weight, but forced to switch to Xiaomi ROM due to this issue.
Any workaround ? As of now, device is not rooted, any Magisk Module to fix this is also welcome.
Thanks in anticipation.

They dropped so early, the bricks issues were solved without almost any risk following the proper steps and all the anti-brick files are there. I didn't find nothing based on Android 10 but only in Pie, this is the recovery to use for https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-5OlIttlKKI82_AD3q6WFaI0J34pfbDe/view and this is the ROM https://mega.nz/file/9BIiQQzL#YKRjCr5tQCb6LcKluKpVl2BsQaZ2e6jD2W-IoN-afhE
I don't know if some of them is the same version but through this tool https://www.xiaomitool.com/V2/ you'll found the Xiaomi.eu v11.0.2.0 stable and the Xiaomi.eu developer 9.11.21
I'm currently using the Indonesian v12.0.2.0, rooted, debloated unnecessary apps and is smooth so far, I used Xiaomi.eu by years but I don't miss it at all.

A guy here is claiming to have a Miui Pro ROM based on Android 10 https://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/xiaomi-eu-hmnote8pro-mtk-begonia-support.53542/post-522711 and asking to Google this is the result https://forum.miuipro.info/viewtopic.php?t=4432&start=200 I didn't checked my self so is a downgrade (not interested).
As per flashing a firmware for other variant you can flash the global (also the EEA included), the Indonesian too, I don't recommend the China version BUT as far as I know the indian version came without NFC capabilities to hardware level and i found someone more that say the same https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-8-pro/how-to/guide-redmi-note-8-pro-megathread-t4056527

Xiaomi.eu

Hey guys,
Tempted to install the Xiaomi EU ROM as I've heard it is very good for battery and performance. I have a few questions with regards to updates however. Does xiaomi.eu support OTA updates after the first flash, does it support major software update flashes OTA without the need to wipe data, and does it work with custom recoveries? I have orangeFox downloaded right now but I can change to TWRP.
Thanks
EDIT: Just flashed Lineage, then Arrow, then dotOS, prefer Dot out of the 3, great ROM would reccomend.

Coming from F2 Pro EU ROM it wasn't OTA updates, you needed to manually download and flash via TWRP. That could be different with OrangeFox as we only had TWRP on F2. Even when flashing manually you didn't need to wipe even when going from A10 to A11 as long as you kept on Stable route or the weekly route (I went stable)
I'm tempted by this device since mi-globe ROM is since ca. a week also available. It is based on xiaomi.eu Builds but you can customize the build by removing a bunch of MIUI apps (BugReport, Browser, Weather, Email, LiveWallpaper, File-Explorer) and block the Xiaomi Sync Daemon. See mi-globe FAQ.
I would be interested on any reports and feedbacks of xiaomi.eu or mi-globe users on this device compared to the Stock ROM , I'm particularly interested in the Cam performance (Stock ANX and/or GCam builds).

Hey, I know its not Xiaomi EU but I found DotOS and ArrowOS to be miles better than MIUI, the camera performance isn't great with the pre-installed cam on both ROMs but with GCam PX it's actually very very good!

Thx, I also prefer clean fast CustomROMs over Stock in general, but thaught that at this stage gauguin has not yet such stable daily driver cROMs and until that I would go with xiaomi.eu/mi-globe - without at least those I would not buy a Xiaomi device.
For Custom ROMs I prefer those with Signature Spoofing Support and particularly like crDroid. If I order this device (depends if RN10 Pro does not become more interesting soon) I guess I have to try out by myself Nice to see the community growing here.
EDIT: Redmi Note 10 Pro Max is rumored to have Snapdragon 768G, Amoled, 108 Mpx - so definitely will wait if it gets that and will be availanle at a price point under Mi 10T Lite and will soon get Custom ROMs.

Has anybody tested Miracast (screen mirror) on Stock/xiaomi.eu or Custom ROMs? Seems to be present in LOS 14.1 but not in crDroid 6.x
