Hi all,
With all the items on my today screen, a scroll bar has introduced itself...
Anyone know of a tweak/hack to reduced/shorten the height of the scroll bar? I.e. for it not to display the full length of the usable screen area. Or another option to make the main 'bar' transparent with just the 'arrows' present (much like the ones used in some HTML web pages)?
P.S. There's only so far you can go with narrowing it before it becomes non-usable!
Many thanks in advanced.
Hi,
I bought used z1c for my wife. After installing CM12.1 and xposed, and set options that i like i saw that LCD in my didnt show first line of px. In gravity box i set color battery bar with size 1px. But on normal use he isnt present. If i make a printscreen, bar in on its place. So i think that front frame covers first line of lcd? IS it possible? For now i change size of bar to 2px and it look like 1px line
So now i looking for way, to calibrate screen and move it by 1px to down. How can i do it?

Is there any way to force apps in the notch area and not have black bar there I tried the full screen mode in settings and even some immersive mode apps and nothing helped.
Also is there a way to make status bar toggles and notifications smaller? I have set smallest display mode but that only affects menus
Thanks
Here's what I did on my P30 Pro to make notifications smaller. It works systemwide too.
Open Developer Options, scroll down to DRAWING section, at the bottom is a setting for Smallest width. Increase whatever the number is by an amount of, say, 10dp at a time until you get your desired size and appearance.
After experimenting with values I found that merely increasing from stock value of 423dp to 430dp made a big (smaller) difference.
I also have the text size set @ normal and display size set @ small.

No problem, I'm glad that's helped with part of your solution.
I much prefer smaller font and icons, to me it makes the UI look more polished.
For the sake of fun I enabled USB debugging and used adb to change the density of the display window from 420 to 320. Looks great on the large display and the amount of info you see compared to the default value might be interesting to some of you.
> adb shell wm density 320
> adb shell wm density reset ( to restore original value)
I used this trick in the past on many of my devices and it's now a habit.
Let me know if it works well for you..
Why not just change minimum width in developer options?
I use a dpi value of 1200...

Do you know how to change the Preview Picture size ? Like in Whatsapp, instagram / fb they are soooo huuge.
In dpi, bigger the no., smaller the things on screen. So you ha e more stuff to see..
Mine is 1200 so everything is Tiny. I actually have to increase the font size to read everything

I tried 1200 DPI in developer settings which was fine for everything except the lock screen when I unfolded the phone while locked. It cut off the numbers on the left and right side of the keypad for entering my pin to unlock it. I use fingerprint recognition 99.9% of the time.

Yes. That is the only issue I have seen so far. I mostly use face unlock or finger as well.
I would like to just increase the font size on the front screen I've already adjusted the minimum width settings from the insider screen but the outside screen fonts are still to small . I've noticed that when you go in the minimum width settings from the front screen the numbers are different then when u go in from the inside screen and if you try and adjust them from the front outer screen they won't stick they just default to there original numbers ?
My sweet spot is 744dp and Font size in the middle.

I don't have much experience playing with them but they seem to be dynamic changing with other settings first of all the numbers are different when you go in from the inner screen and from the outer front screen
I'd just like to be able to bump up the size on the front screen already got the inside where i like it

On the cover display. Go to developer options, change dp. This will be the dp for cover screen
Just changed my minimum width to 740, awesome.
+1 to changing the image preview size.

Are you saying change the minimum width DP from the front screen?
Coz i don't see any change dp setting option under developer options
Also changing minimum width numbers from the front screen won't stick they just default back to original number for me

I meant the minimum width. Like you said this can't be changed for outer screen.
Maybe you can adjust the font size to fit outer screen, then change the minimum width on inner screen until the font size is comfortable.

Even maximum font and display size settings don't make the outer front screen big enough for me still way small

Which apps the text too small? I put in middle and text size for most apps are ok for outer screen.
If it is browser you can adjust the browser text size independently

All the front screen font is to small specify to name a few quick setting notification messages and chrome font and txt are way to small for me
I don't think theres a good way to increase the Chrome font size on android like there is on windows all you can do is expand it which not very good
Just out of curiosity what smallest width number are you guys running? I know you can make some adjustments to display size/font size in display settings but I'm talking about the number you set in developer options. I'm running 512 looks pretty good to me. The options in display settings didn't allow me to go as small as I wanted.

Do you mean DPI or PPI?
If you are referring to PPI (jea 512 is the P6 Pro max) this does not change the actual PPI of the screen (obviously), only sets DPI scaling (ability to adjust the size of on-screen content).
Decreasing the value will give you larger icons and make text easier to read.
Increasing it will make on-screen elements smaller and fit more content on the screen.
You can also achieve that with the Pixel launcher built-in font & screen size options, so I don't really see the point here. (Settings -> Display -> Font size / Display size).

The point is pretty simple, the adjustments in the display settings only go so far. I want on-screen elements smaller than those settings allow. Smallest options in settings gives you a minimum width of 484 and I wanted a higher number. Guess I should have just said the smallest width settings in developer options.
510 here and much preferring it!

Hi! I'm sorry to bother you but I have a question, that is, you see my phone is oppo f9 and I have 432 dp and I'd like to change it to 700. Can I change it to that number? if yes, does it affects my phone performances? The "developer options" is quite new for me, so I'd like to ask before taking action
I have been running smallest width 720 for a few years now, which I think translates to something like 320dp. I ran the same on my previous Note phones. It takes me a minute to focus in the morning but I enjoy the extra space and viewing websites in full desktop mode instead of fisher price mobile versions.
It's really up to you to fiddle with the number until you find something that works for you, but I can verify 700+ works fine without breaking anything.
FWIW I ran it at 1024 for awhile too, that didnt break anything either but was too small for me. I don't know what the exact cutoff is but at a certain resolution you'll notice that Android and apps will flip over to a tablet experience. I prefer this, but it may influence your choice.
592 dpi also with 6 pro and 7 pro
anyone using Poco X3 NFC ? any suggestion on your smallest width ?
Only tried up to 800 so far. Maybe try 1024 once i very comfy w 800.
