I have tried reinstalling firmware twice the second time using a pit file / nand erase repartition,
What am I missing here ?
EFS partition is a special partition dedicated for your phone's info like radio signal info, IMEI, SN and lots of files revolving around your SIM card and Wi-Fi, Bluetooth ( this includes your MAC address for all the radios of your phone ). Imagine the EFS as a big folder containing all of the important stuff that makes the "phone" part of your phone.
EFS partition isn't part of any Stock ROM or Custom ROM.

Hello folks. So yesterday I was tinkering around with my phone in an attempt to load the jelly bean ROM. I am new to the world of ROM's and things, so I made sure I did my research before going into the new ROM. I got everything backed up (so I thought), and flashed the jelly bean ROM. The screen just sat there doing nothing until I got rid of it and restored my backup from CWM.
Now every time I boot, I get a screen that says "Unfortunately, Factory Test has stopped" and it cancels out wifi and I have no lock screen/power off menu. I found a solution on XDA that said to look in the EFS file for a certain folder, but when I went into my /efs folder, this is what I saw.

So there is nothing in my EFS file unless I'm reading this wrong. And I was stupid enough to save my original absolutely clean version from EFS Pro on the internal memory which I wiped. I have another backup which I think might also be corrupted on my computer from the Galaxy s3 toolkit.
The strange thing is that from what I've read, EFS corruption leads to the phone being useless with no functionality. Mine is almost totally functional, minus the Factory Test coming up.
Help please?!!
Bump. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Any ideas to shoot around at all.
bump. Im having the same issue

Not working on redmi 1s when i flash via twrp restart phone no aroma start.
Hey everyone. I've faced with a problem I can't cope by myself. Once upon a time I found out despite the renewal was turned off on my phone that my phone was updated to MIUI 11. I didn't like it so much. It had buggs, terrible design and devoured phones charge like a fish. I lost my nerve and made rollback. so, I lost everything that makes a phone different from a brick with lights. After that I decided to read about ) but It was too late. So, I lost all of system settings due to antirollback policies. What about backup? certainly I hadn't made it. I had one on google drive but It didn't give it to download.
I found some efs files and managed to recover system settings such as wifi, imei, modem, almost everything except the mobile network and the internet. the engineering menu shows the efs is unknown.
It means the efs I recovered my phone isn't suitable for my phone version or I need radio.img in addition to, doesn't it?
I'm going to try input SN number via a special utility into the phone. I don't expect anything from this step, but...
I suppose I need some with radio band settings or something from it. Or I need to find the new EFS files, don't I? I remember the file I'm restoring the phone was the ancient fossil of 2016.
how much does it cost to buy up-to-date EFS? Where could I find them? Where should I look for?

So what is the point of backing up your modemst 1 and 2? I have partitions back up and restore and it showsfiles highlighted. Which one do I need for conversion? At what point will I need these partitions durning conversion. How do I use or flash them? I'm hesitant to proceed with conversion until I get a better understanding of how I should back them up and restore them.

I think that I'm backing up them up just in case somethint goes wrong but I'm not 100%
Modem a for a partition, and modem b for b partition. These are the ones a TMobile device has to flash when going to a custom Rom/another Oxygen build. These can be shared, etc. The st1 and st2 is for your specific device and uses fastbootd, but these can not be shared and will result in a soft brick if I'm not mistaken. Modem a,b is the ones for conversion if on T-Mobile,etc.

Im once again into this typical "I bricked my phone and spend endless hours searching for tutorials and hoping that something work" stuff. This time I broke my persist.img and noticed something strange:
There are dozen of tutorials which state that one should download a clean fastboot rom to extract the persist.img (".\images\persist.img") from the image folder and flash it either using recovery or fastboot edl in combination with a modified rom to only flash this partition.
Now I noticed that the persist.img partition is pretty empty for most Xiaomi stock roms:

In comparisation the persist partition I extracted from a friend who luckily got the same phone:
How is the above persist partition from the stockrom supposed to help someone when there are just empty files? Atleast for me it didnt bring back the sensors when I flashed it. On the contrary the persist partition from my friend fixed everything.
If the persist file of every stock rom is empty beside a few zero byte files the conclusion would be that the only way to get a working file is to get your hands on a unmodified one from someone else.
Or is there some magic that will enrich the partition with new files as soon as you boot the stockrom for the first time?
How come there are so many tutorials saying that one should flash this partition from stock?
are you sure you have downloaded a fastboot (TGZ) rom and open the TAR file?
