Camera NX V7.3 is a Google Camera mod, which is modified to unlock most of the exclusive features of Pixel 2 for Nexus 2015 and original Pixel phones. with this updated version, you can get the Portrait mode working with Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and Pixel 2016 phones, which was the last Pixel 2’s exclusive feature.
Portrait mode was the most wanted feature for Nexus and Pixel 2016 users. I have considered that Portrait mode is a hardware limiting feature, it requires a special type of image data called PD (Pixel detector?) to enable Portrait mode, but some said Portrait mode can be active with front camera, I began to thinking that this feature should be able to work in software way which we can force to enable it on other phones. Turns out, Google uses PD data to calculate portrait effect on the Back lens while use software method on the Front lens.
We need the camera.experiment2017 library to active the Pixel 2 exclusive functions. thanks to the*Apk changer, the first tool which can deodex the Android 8.1 odex files. I force to enable the PD data model in the camera.experiment2017 library, which is telling camera app to enable Portrait mode. Portrait mode will replace the Lens-blur mode in the menu, it provides the face-retouching feature on both front and back camera, and it needs a human face to do the portrait effect job, it will take two burst photos, one is normal ZSL HDR+ photos, the other is applied the portrait effect. if no human face shows up, you will get one normal photo.
https://chromloop.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/Portrait-mode-on-Nexus-5X-with-Camera-NX-mod.png
Camera NX V7.3 is based on Google Camera 5.1.016, why not the latest 5.1.018 version? because they are the same app with different version numbers. I decide to disable the Google photos combination, as it has the black screen issue, though this issue can be solved by totally replace the original Google camera in the system, it needs the same signature and provider name. I also remove the Help and Feedback in settings, and disable the silence feedback service, to make the app launching a little faster.
The new version was tested on my Nexus 5X, should work on Nexus 6P and Pixel 2016 phones too. I will also provide the modified AR Sticker and AR Core app for Nexus 5X/6P, you can use it without change phone model or add files to the system, you can use other AR sticker mod if you like. I was thinking AR Core is still in beta status, bugs like upside down photo on Nexus 5X, too many things need to be fixed in the future, so no need to make it perfect at this moment.

Maybe.. I don't know, but it should work on +7.1. Here working perfect on stock Oreo
Edit: It works only on Oreo
It may convince me to finally make the jump from 7.1.1, does this eliminate the need for phone tilting for background blur now?

Yes it does.
It works exactly like the Pixel 2 camera. Just select Portrait mode and shoot. It also works like a charm with the front camera.
very good results! I am impressed! Thanks for sharing.
I was able to overcome parsing error by using APK editor Pro and changing the SDK version back to 25.
App installs, but hangs every time I launch.
Help would be great

Someone please help me with this
Sorry in advance, if there is something I've missed.
I'm on the lineages on my 5t, but I believe that I'm missing the dual lens option from my camera app (The option to switch to the telephoto lens). I tried to install a modded google camera - as it appears that everyone is suggesting that, but it didn't help. Is there something that I need to do, some camera mod that I need to install? All replies are appreciated.

I will give you all benefits of all doubts for this one. Dual cameras can't work on any ROM other than stock oxygen. No way around it, Oneplus uses proprietary software for their camera app making it superfluous to port to a ROM let alone one that isn't OOS based.
So to answer your question, manage with the single lens camera apps that populate android. Try gcam, its what I use.
As a last note, there is no telephoto lens on the op5t, just 2 standard lenses...

Sorry for my English.
I try to figure out this information too, After view the source code, The LineageOS accurately support dual camera:
https://github.com/LineageOS/androi.../com/android/camera/util/CameraUtil.java#L386
BUT, it's just can "working".
Tune on LineageOS Camera app, Click menu, Settings (Gear), Click few times "About", You're going to development mode.
In development mode, You can find an option name "Switch camera by ID", choose what camera you want to use.
The Screenshot is Chinese, Sorry about this.

Didn't know about the development mode. That is a very neat information you provided here. Thank you very much!
EDIT: If you switch to "camera3 facing:back" the app crashes. So it recognises the second monochrome camera but fails to use it

I still don't know what is camera 3 in the list.
Hello I have recently installed LineageOS 15.1 on my OP5t. Now I want to know which camera app works best with Lineage OS.
Hi,
I installed the Bliss rom based on Android 9 because is the only recently updated Pie rom based on which I can install and run the official google camera version 6.1.021.
It works fine with video, camera, night sight but there aren't others pixel 3 camera features like the portrait mode / bokeh and photobooth.
Why?
I read on a blog that changing the device info in build.prop file to:
ro . product . model=Pixel 3
ro . product . name=blueline
ro . product . device=blueline
The camera app recognize the device as a Pixel 3 and it enables all missing features.
I tried to do this but the app crashes when I open it.
someone tried this method? I'm not interested to use other camera mod as workaround to get this features, i'm interested to get them on the original camera app.
Someone have any suggest?
Thank you guys!
Bye :highfive:

How about "I don't want spend hundreds dollars to buy a new phone until mine works perfectly and I may have all features of the new one just with few little tricks"?
Well, you may not want to, that's fine, not making your decisions for you. But even if you do get the original pixel gcam on your n5x, the performance will be bad. So it's better if you either use the available gcam mods, or just buy a pixel 3.

Most of the times when you install a gcam port you have to make some changes at the settings of the app. I don't know if this is the case for this port also. But I guess this must be it. @sivansk could elaborate...
Why do you use Gcam when the Stock is amazing and have all that features and works without any problems..

The last thread named "GCam ports for Galaxy S9/S9+" was very helpfull but got archived for whatever reason, so now, i'm rebooting it to help every Galaxy S9 (S9+) owner to find a GCAM port.
There are a lot of APK downloads and disposed all around the internet and the problem is not all of em work, so if everyone that has a certain working version on a certain config (Processor/Android Version) posts it here, it'll be the biggest repository of GCAM ports for the Galaxy S9 on all variants. Come on guys, we can do it !

Thx! Is it working 100%? Because then I'd maybe consider an upgrade. is it with a10 possible to move the clock in the notification bar to the right side? Do you think it was worth it to upgrade? Especially in terms of camera quality, or is it just "normal". I only want to upgrade if there are huge improvements . I also don't like the look of One UI actually.

Samsung have an app on the galaxy store that allow you to customise clock location, nav bar icons, notifications, recents etc. Its called Good Lock. You can use it on any samsung (as far as i know) phone with OneUI. To change clock position, you then pick QuickStar inside Good Lock.
I'm using 6.2.024 for Snapdragon
I still think this is one of the best sources for information for S9/S9+ users.
Cyanogenmod
It has good default settings for both processors.

How did you make these versions work? Only the configs? IDan's version isn't really rich of features and all of Arnova's apks are extremely overexposed for me (photos are almost completely white) and the according configs only fix the lag of the preview for me. Did you modify any other settings?

Links are provided on the first page second post. You can use Idan's 3.5 fix version, only features that doesn't work are the front cam hdr+ and portrait mode. We don't have night sight in this version though, but provides the most stable version for exynos s9.
Hi,
I have seen the links on the first page but I still have problems finding the correct version.
I see specific links for older versions that should work with a Samsung S9+but I'm looking for release 7.3 with support of xml config files and for the Exynos processor.
If I install the version from Arnova 7.3.021 it always immediately stops hen launching.
I found lot of versions on other places but a version is working on Exynos is hard to find.
There also seems to be fix for non-rooted phones to get the front camera working.
If possible I like to have version 7.3.
Can you point me in the right direction or give me another link where I can find the information
I am currently running ZGcam, it has working night sight, portrait mode, hdr+ enhanced... supports xml configs. You can find it on zgcam official webpage

For s9 or note9, probably my custom libs, also turn the saturation of shadows from 1.1 to 1.0, keep the awb on

Front Camera freezing
Switching to the front camera in picture mode leads to freezing of the camera. Switching back to the main camera releases the freezing. This happens only in pictures mode, not in video mode.
