No Netflix HD on Redmi Note 8 Pro - after update on Android 10

Hi guys,
I've been waiting for the Android 10 update so I can watch Netflix in HD, that did not come up, so I've manually updated to this: MIUI Global 11.0.2 Stable, 11.0.2.0 (QGGEUXM) - Android 10 QP1A.190711.020
I've checked on the Netflix app, but the streaming quality is still SD. I've deleted the app data, I've tried different internet connections, I've reset the device, I've reinstalled the app but nothing worked.
I've also tried with older versions of Netflix, still it does not work. When I check the Playback Specification WIDEVINE shows as L3 for some reason, it should be L1.
Can someone please help me with this?

It didn't work at first for me. But uninstalling and re-installing the app fixed it.

same goes here, I received the update via OTA and when I checked Netflix it still doesn't stream in HD. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app and did a factory rest but there's no difference as the streaming is still SD.

clear Netflix app cache and try again. it is clearly mentioned in android 10 notes.

For me clearing cache doesn't help. It's still SD.

Actually, I removed the app and installed it again and now I have L1. It's weird because I've already tried it and it didn't help. Anyway, now I have L1.

I am sorry, somehow I didn't get a quote notification and I couldn't respond earlier.
I guess it's the latest one version from Google Play Store.

Well, I have exactly the same version as yours ,that's very very weird... I guess Netflix still has trouble recognizing the L1 certificate.

No, they lowered the bitrate, HD is still a thing.

As I mentioned before, my first attempt after receiving Android 10 didn't really work. Then I reinstalled the app once again lately and somehow it recognized my phone, so I got L1 cert.

I haven't even got the update yet and it's near mid-April already! (India)

Just download your regional android 10 rom from here https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/begonia/, copy it in the downloaded_rom folder (create it if it isn`t present) and flash it in /settings/about the phone/systemupdate/ choose update package in the 3-dots menu in the top right corner.

I'm sorry but I have only updated from the MIUI Updater by downloading latest package and force applying it. I've never attempted it your way. Do I have to create downloaded_rom folder in default emulated/0 path or somewhere else? Also, do I have to flash it from the bootloader or what? My phone is unrooted just so you know. Please tell me if there will be any negative implications of this.

I just downloaded the 2GB rom from the official source and installed through the upgrade tool, make sure the default (mi) file manager is enabled and working
I haven't rooted or unblocked the device (yet)

I'm on beta 4 and I'm hesitant to update to the stable update. The international stable build is dated 2 days before Open Beta 4:
Stable: 2103170010 = 2021, March 17 @ 00:10

My HD1907 has no issues on OB4.

Anyone on converted tmobile to global with any issues? Gpay works? Device certified in play store?

Hello, I have the conversion from T-Mobil to Global version. I can't tell you about GPay, but in my case about the device, the build number is unknown, and in its photo it shows a One Plus 6T ... This happened in all A11 betas. I don't know if the same will happen to you.

No podría decirte la verdad, incluso es necesario probar con el sistema de archivos FastBoot si esto se puede resolver.

It all works on my end tmobile varient but I'm on open beta 4

Can you guys check if you can add cards to Google pay?
Also check in the play store app>settings>play protect certification

Play store says my device is certified. I already had cards on Google Pay and they are still there and the app isn't telling me anything is wrong so I assume that is good as well. I assume if all was good on the previous version, it should all still be fine.

Place .zip in Internal Storage (Root) and go to Settings->System->Sys Update ->Local upgrade (3dot options)
Choose zip file and flash it

Hey, so I converted to global a while back from my Tmobile firmware. I dont use gpay though, but everything else works great!

I also went from tmo -> global, then flashed android11 betas. The build number doesnt show up and the UI seems laggish and doesnt feel right.. Are you still having these problems?

Everything works fine for me. I don't have any lag. The only time I ever see lag is every now and then when swipe typing on Google keyboard. Other than that, the only issue I see is the unknown build number. I was never on the betas. I went from stable 10 to stable 11.

I am currently on OOS10 v10.3.7 And rooted too, Is the process same as to normal ota upgrade or different for OS change from 10 to 11 to flash magisk on open slot and update? Or different

Yes same. Make sure you've Disabled Magisk modules before attempting and backing up data

Is there not a fastboot GLOBAL rom version available for 11.0.0.2-OnePlus7TOxygen_14.O.26_OTA?

I am currently on India 10.0.37 version and rooted with Magisk. Rooting works even though Magisk manager crashes immediately on opening. So I can't update Magisk.
I got OTA update to v11. If I update and can't update Magisk will I just loose root or will the phone go into bootloop?
How do I root Android 11? Is TWRP now working?

My guess is that the hyperlink is linking towards a W30 ROM instead of a W20 ROM. PD2185F_EX_A_12.0.12.5.W20.V000L1-update-full.zip.
Does anyone have a rollback file for the W20 version of the X80 Pro that they can upload to androidfilehost or Google Drive please?
I heard 12.0.11.2 is the best version to do a bootloader unlock so I'm hoping someone has this one, but right now I'll be happy just to go back to Android 12.

This was the A13 file I used to update successfully, so it is likely that PD2185F is my model number.

Try doing a reset of network only. That worked for me in the past with this issue.

Would you still happen to have the file you used for the rollback? I have tried to factory reset and it still did not help with the boot issue. I've also reported this to their support and they are working on a fix, but I am not sure how long it would take.
Edit - They fixed the link for the rollback file. I will now try to unlock the bootloader.
Edit 2 - I tried flashing unlocking the bootloader but it seems like it cannot be unlocked due to the June security patch. I am still hoping someone here has the 12.0.11.2 version firmware and it works to flashback...

Strange I can't flash through recovery, the only option I get is update through network.. Did u get to recover via "adb reboot recovery" or is there different recovery I need to access?

What I meant is this, I don't have the option to select the rom file apparently.
A few days ago I did have the option which is why I'm confused now

I have that after every time I switch between beta and stable. Reset all settings fixes it every time.

Thanks! I will try resetting tonight or tomorrow if I have the time.
I do want to root (been using rooted Android since the Kindle Fire -> Galaxy S3 -> G2 -> V20 -> OP3T -> OP5T -> OP7T), but I seem to be surviving without root after blocking Ads through using AdGuard on private DNS settings.
Not being able to freeze apps on Titanium Backup is a bit of a pain but my banking apps work perfectly is pretty good upside.

Did reset network, all settings, but nothing helped

After I try to install A13 zip and failed of course I am receiving notification for a new version. I install this version and after another failed try of A13 is giving me the same version to download and install. And this is every time I try to install A13 I get PD2185F_EX_A_12.0.13.1.W30.

Google doesn't know this build and my phone does not receive and updates (there should be V13.0.3.0 or V13.0.5.0). The right version by https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/archive/miui/psyche/ should be V13.0.2.0.SLDEUXM (S means android 12). Does anybody know hot to fix it without rooting (phone is still in waranty)?

I am responding to the problem of Lili Scalisty(first post) who is on a Taiwain (TW) rom and who is probably wrong since he wants to update with an EEA (eu) rom which is not possible without unlocking the bootloader so I advise him to install the latest Taiwan version.

IC, my mistake but why do you assume he's on TW ROM and not EU ROM? All IC is that he left out one 'E' from V13.0.2.0.SLDEUXM.

currently downloading 13.0.3.0 and 13.0.2.0(SLD...) but i have no much hopes, since I still have android 11 and those are with android 12. It look that i samohow fallen to the ending branch of version, for which update doesn' exists.

I guess you tried to change region (Belgium) restart and try the OTA IN WIFI.
Either you wait for the update to be offered to you (sometimes never) or you unlock the bootloader which will allow you to install any rom including Xiaomi EU roms which are better than stocks.

One more question, i was trying recovery versions, shuld i try fastboot, or it is waste of time?

1. unlock bootloader with MiUnlock (Xiaomi unlock tool)
2. flash latest official EEA fastboot ROM with MiFlash (you can relock your phone while flashing, all like NEW)

With a Stock ROM you will need to root the phone and use Magisk modules for the device to be certified.

If the play store is not certified, no Netflix, etc. and the banking apps do not work.
This is due to the unlocked bootloader on a stock rom.

Hi there, i've just got my CN rom 13 ultra but can't proceed with unlock and flash because of certain issues.
1) I can't use the latest Miunlock version because it gets detected as a virus by McAfee. The version i'm currently on is 6.5.224.28, is that sufficient for 13 ultra?
2) On Miflash i'm told to install certain things, how do i find them for download? I could click on continue but i don't know if it'd work properly nor would i like to risk bricking my new phone due to some unforeseen errors.

Also, has anybody tested out the camera system? Mine seems to use the same lens for 1x 3.2x and 5x zoom, no idea if it's a CN rom thing....
EDIT: unchecking "auto adjust lens" fixed that

Thanks, i opened the newest MiFlash without issue. I have a mi account tied to my current xiaomi phone, should i continue to register a new account, which will remove the previous one? Will that render my current phone unusable?

Why use the other account (explanations)?

I'm not sure, but i probably used the same email to either attempt to flash another phone or for my current phone, i can't remember which, as i am using now to log into MiUnlock.
what would happen if i proceed, will i lose ability to use any of my current phones?

Not exactly, it says i won't be able to access the account, not unable to use the phone itself. Now i can't remember if a xiaomi account needs to exist and be tied with a phone for it to be fully usable
