For some reason when i tap the fingerprint on the main screen, it crashes. When i tap fingerprint on the inside screen, i am allowed to enter my 4 digit password then it crashes. My 1 fingerprint i have on it does work and no problems with face detect.
Done any debloating?

Had the same issue here. Solved mine by reseting the all apps permissions. Settings>apps - press three dots on the right upper corner - reset apps permissions

I'm used to switch off the phone tap (or swipe) of the screen, without using the power button. But this method for HTC 10 is not working.. I tried to put different applications (for example Screen off and lock), but they are in conflict with the scanner - scanner is not working . Does anyone have any ideas?
Custm rom will give you this feature but you'll have to unlock your BL
The only app that can do this is screen lock pro by Prahallad, but it's a paid app.
It's achieves this via a workaround, which has a side effect that the screen is not actually locked until about 10 seconds after u initiate the lock.
Gestures in Nova Launcher can do this. I have it set to lock when I swipe down on the homescreen. The one catch to this (or any other third party solution) is that fingerprint unlock will be disabled until the device is locked with the power button.

Thanx, u method is working...:good: ( Screen lock pro by Prahallad)
I discovered this behavior with the A9 and 6.0.1. What happens with a lock screen app, most will actually lock the phone, then when you try to use something like a double tap to wake, the phone acts as if it did a reboot, and requires a PIN to unlock. You can't use a fingerprint/face etc..upon a reboot...a PIN is always required. All the apps did this I tried.
The way I use a lock screen/wake is to 1) Root the phone, 2) Install Xposed, 3) install Gravity Box for MM, 4) Navigation buttons, 5) then use the Home button and set the double tap to Sleep.
Have to reboot after activating Gravity etc. You need to be familiar with Xposed and the modules/activating them.
Then if you double tap home to slepp. Then, also put your finger on the Fingerprint for example, and it unlocks and goes right to the screen. You can use the PIN/Face etc as well...but the lock programs always fooled the phone into thinking it rebooted, and only a PIN would unlock it..annoying. This method stops that, so you can still have security, and simply double tap to lock the screen, and easily wake the phone/unlock it with a variety of options.
Not sure if this is how you are using it, but none of the Lock screen apps will work. I've tried them all on the A9 6.0.1 MM. Only Rooting and Gravity Box will give you an ability to do something like a double-tap to sleep, without the reboot PIN always prompting you when you do unlock the phone.

I personally use the double tap home on venom rom.. Works well.
Double tap screen will be kernel based, not sure how efficient it'll be on battery so I'd avoid it and use the double tap home key, not a massive difference.
So when I open the fingerprint scanner in the settings it asks to enter the pattern and when I do it it opens another window asking for the pattern and keeps doing that. And when I back out I have to keep backing out depending on how many times I enter my pattern. I've tried clearing settings data as well as the fingerprint scanner data to no avail. Any suggestions?
I am also having this issue.
Any solution ?
Hi,
Under screen lock I marked swipe.
It stopped working.
When I press the lock button, the screen just appeared like the none option is marked although the swipe is marked.
I have tried the following:
Restart
Shut down
Change user to guest
Clear credentials
Change to password and change back
After changing to password go to smart lock and make sure there are not trusted places
After changing to swipe the smart lock option is grey like it is set to None.
Any ideas?
Thanks
I recently updated to the latest ElementalX kernel (1.15) and am experiencing the same issue, lock button doesn't lock or wake up screen, gestures work fine though.
Edit: After hard resetting the lock & wake functionality is back to normal!
i had the Galaxy s6 before this and had been using Finger Security. it was working flawlessly. But on One plus 3 i have been having issues with the app.
Whenever i open the an app that is protected. the lock screen comes up telling me to scan my finger. but as soon as i try to touch it with my finger i pushes me back to main menu.
im guessing this is due to the touch home key. i hope there is a work around for this.
So far i have tried using Finger Security and App Lock Cheetah Mobile
App Lock works pretty good so far
use App Lock: Fingerprint Password on playstore. then in the options enables fingerprint
Try Maxlock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2883624

Hi Guys,
This is only best app lock for one plus which locks app with no delay. I have tried each and every app lock available in playstore for one plus 3 but all have same issue. App lock happens with delay and first app screen is shown then fingerprint lock screen appears which is very bad.

hi,
i'm having a problem with AppLock fingerprint password
Problem : it lock and shows every time a notification comes.
eg. say i am browsing something on chrome and a whatsapp message comes instead of just showing showing the notification on the notification bar, it locks the Screen and shows the fingerprint unlock screen and then when i unlock it, it unlocks and shows the home screen instead of the Chrome browser (it minimizes app every time a whatsapp or other locked app notification).
i have tried Bear applock but its bit slow on locking the apps, the app shows the open screen for a second then lock screen shows, but the messages were visible for a sec.

I have been having an issue for awhile that is driving me crazy. I have my screen lock set to swipe with Ambient Display set to on and Double Tap to check phone enabled. On occasion, I can double tap to wake the phone or push the power button when the Ambient Display is showing and the lock screen is bypassed and the Home Screen is displayed. I have tried to go to Settings/Security & location/Advanced and Clear Credentials, followed by a reboot. It solves the issue for awhile but then it returns. Sometimes it is several days and sometimes it is within several hours. Anyone else have this issue? If so did you figure out a fix? Thanks

Nope. That choice is grayed out when you choose swipe for Screen Lock. Thanks

When you choose "swipe", it disables your lock screen.
Try this: choose password/pin/pattern for your lockscreen. Add a fingerprint too. Then go back to settings and choose swipe. You'll get a warning that you are disabling device protection and removing security for it.

Thanks. It looks like swipe is actually a choice for the lock screen . I have been using it for about a year. None is the choice if you want to bypass it. I did try what you suggested and it worked for a day, but then it reverted back to bypassing again. Thanks again
