Hello, I have pretty stupid question. My device (Redmi note 9) bought in czechia, shows that it is "merlinnfc" and I want to know, is there a difference beatween merlin and merlinnfc, apart from merlin lacking the NFC support? Will something bad happend when I flash merlin rom onto merlinnfc phone?

You can do that safely.
Merlin and MerlinNFC shares same rom.
Both are exactly same device, except for NFC.

Merlinx means "merlin and/or merlinnfc".

Oh I see I found out that there is already a device named Merlin(https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/merlin/) that's why some ROM devs call this device Merlinx I'm not sure if this is accurate tho, anyway thanks!

I know the Pro version and Pro Max version share the similar specs except physically the main camera sensor. I have a doubt if anything developed for Pro version will also work for Pro Max version like recovery, ROMs, etc. I see no lead for custom development here...

There is Xiaomi.eu for redmi note 9 pro max but there aren’t any custom things because there is no TWRP release or at least I think that’s the reason or maybe it is the fact that it is quite new

Yes, they can be the reasons for the lack of development, but I see other devices like poco x2 and RN9P have been picking up pace quite fast even though they are also on flash sale, especially x2.

No. Does not work. I have tried.
only recovery is working fine
but custom roms is not getting boot and i have just bricked my phone
i have again flashed the stock rom with mi flash tool

Pro Max is Indian Version and didn't got any developers still for specific development but it has Unified ROM Builds which is also used in other Redmi Note 9 Pro versions called "miatoll". It is stable enough for Pro Max go and try it.

I am learning git now and I am going to buy Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in three months. Soon I will make a device specific trees for our device and start development of custom ROMs. But I also need testers to test my custom ROMs that I will be releasing in near future.

Actually There are a few roms (I'm using pixel experience). Just search for roms using the codename (Excalibur).
Extra info: I am using unofficial twrp since I was getting error7 when I was flashing using pitch black recovery

So if you flash that twrp then everytime you connect your phone to pc, it will show "note 9 s". You can follow the step on how to flash, but when I flashed no_verity I got stuck in bootloop. So you can ignore that step
Rom is pixel experience, didn't see any bug yet. Just the front camera didn't feel optimised. Like when I taking selfie using apps like instagram or snapchat, it would be dark and blurry.

1. As of current there is no Oxygen Os port. I don't have the technical knowledge to be able to port it. Are there other Xiaomi devices with ports so I can contact the devs and inquire how they did it?
2. I imagine you can use GSIs however we have an improved version: fastboot ROMs. These not only have a system image to flash but also flash other partitions such as product and vendor. This makes the experience better. Examples of these ROMs are in the Dev section of this forum (e.g crDroid, AICP, HavocOS, ArrowOS etc)
3. I'm assuming you're asking about the forum. This is the way XDA are moving with having threads having a tag and being in one big forum. Because this device is new it was created with the modern XDA forum implementation

Cool. That specific ROM won't work as F3 was released with Android 11 so you can't run Android 10 ROMs

The problem started recently. I think it has to do something with the audio because I noticed that the restart is triggered when there is a sudden audio spike like a call ringtone or something. Is it a bug?. What can I do now?

Clean flash of course and flash DFE to stay decrypted
you can backup app+data (if you are still on PE) with O&backupX (root)
and restore them after if you don't want to config every app ...

Those are "Fastboot" Roms
it's better to look for recovery flashable to keep the custom recovery

Even Redmi Note 8T will brick Redmi Note 8 because the firmware is differant
(RN10 will not install)

If you follow the steps carefully it will not brick
(Read the pages 2 times/watch youtube examples to get a clear idea)

Why hasn't been an official TWRP developed for Redmi Note 9 Pro...vs. older and new ones have.. any idea?
I guess it's the same situation as with Lineage for certain devices - there is nobody willing to maintain the software's port to a specific device.
