Hi.
I have been using the Touchpal keyboard for years.
Now after the last system update I have such a problem that when I type on the keyboard, for example when I write the username in the field, I write it normally, the keyboard is still open and when I want to write the password in the next field, the keyboard no longer responds and I have to close keyboard manually - hide below and only then can I write the password in the next field.
It's just that when the keyboard is extended, I can't continue with other actions without closing it.
What could be the problem?
This does not happen with other keyboards. Thanks
mention your current miui version.

as u said,it was fine in previous version.. It's may be either touchpal compatibility issue or miui issue.
It seems like you even tried reinstalling touchpal keyboard,so..
....so....?

sir..you tried reinstalling touchpal keyboard as everybody does as universal workaround..so I am not recommending it again..
that's it.
In Touchpal keyboard settings:
Look and feel - pop up when you press a key - close.
So the problem is solved and now I can happily use my favorite touchpal keyboard.
You don't have to set up the font change and other previously mentioned procedures that are available on the Internet.
Just this little thing in the keyboard settings is enough.
Hey guys! Just wanted to share my experience with you all. I wouldn't necessarily recommend reinstalling again, haha!

Hi,
I had the same issue when I was with WM6 Black 2.5. The issue appeared when I installed Cyberon Voice Dialer. De-installing and installing it again resolved the problem.
I hope this will work for you.
Cheers,
Mitaka
I have not installed Cyberon Voice Dialer but I believed something crashed
I am just too lazy to find out what is the cause so I hard reset the machine

What, the link is down?
Did it get xda'd? lol
Been using it for a few weeks.. Skinable and very easy to type with. In fact you can just slide your finger around and let go when you see the key you are looking for highlited..
Another thing you should look into is PocketCM...

CONTACTS replacement!!! I like this even more then their keyboard solution.. Imagine the iPhone contacts slide you see everywhere, and you have pocketCM. One of the best features is the A-Z on the left side to quick jump.

How do you install this on hermes w/WM6? When I go into settings / input and change to PCM keyboard it says " Pocket CM keyboard has to be the current sip in order to configure it? what do I do?
Just click the little triangle beside your keyboard icon (bottom middle of bar) and select PCM Keyboard. That should do it...
i have been using the pocket CM k/b since yesterday and ts a quantum leap forward from any other k/b that is available. Its a must have for any Windows mobile user. It works on all PPC phones!
There is also a contact manager from the same author. You can use your fingers to scroll through and select contacts. I use that as well. It works great! It is called pocketCM. URL: http://www.pocketcm.com/index.php
I've installed it and it shows up in the list of available input devices but selecting it does nothing at all. The keyboard doesn't change visually onscreen and if I check the current input device it still shows the standard keyboard.
I can go into it's options and play around with things but if I change the Input Method to PCM Keyboard and click OK, it still doesn't switch over.
Running Schap's WM6 Pro 3.60a ROM.
Tried soft resets, tried installing to main memory and to storage.
Running 0.6 version.

same problem here
What a bummer.
Too bad the Hermes doesn't have either a slide out keyboard, Block Recognizer, Letter Recognizer or Transcriber.

I don't think sarcasm is called for; this looks like a neat keyboard that works better than the stock one for those times that you dont want to slide out or use the stylus.

Strange, I installed it on my 8525 (see sig for ROM info), and it worked fine. Of course my fat fingers don't let me use it all too well... But then again, I have the same problems with an iPhone and even the slide-out keyboard on the Hermes. I actually find the Letter Recognizer to work quite well for me, but it's a matter of personal preference (I was a big fan of Graffiti on the Palm, but Graffiti 2 was abysmal.)

Is there anyway to make this the default keyboard? When i reset my phone, it goes back to the standard keyboard
I'm in love with this keyboard! I had downloaded and installed the first version a couple weeks ago and liked it enough to use occaisonally. I felt like it had great potential and just needed a little polishing. But this new version, .6, is awesome! Perfect. I'm gonna use it all the time except when typing sms with the palm threaded app. I'll slide out the hardware keyboard on my hermes for that.
As soon as someone fixes the palm threaded app so that the SIP keyboard doesn't cover up the text you're inputting, I'll use this new PCMkeyboard there, too. And I'll send a hefty donation to that person that fixes the palm app.
donation on the way to this PCM guy, too.
Does anyone know if this keyboard supports other languages' input methods?
Under the options, there's a select box for "Keyboard layout" which includes:
Czech
English
Francais
German
Polish
Russian
Spanish
Hi guys, I am appriciated to all of your works. But I just got one question.
Do you know how to enable automatch in sms when you write at "To:" in new sms? ( like wm6)
It is seem to be does not work any more in most of your rom. Its only work in Bepe 0.54 basic.
Thx very much.

I have the same problem, it works with the new big kb, but not with the standard old keyboard.
I Just discovered that. The auto-fill( like wm6) was disable by ezinput or xt9. Because when I flash a rom without them. The auto-fill will work. I hope someone can sort it out. THX
What you can do if AutoMatch doesnt work for you is type in the name of the contact or part of the name, click menue and then click check names. Works like a charm.
I never even knew that The diamond had Automatch contatcs in the Messaging system

Truth but the "automatch" (or auto-fill) is much more convenience
I guess. But convenience is good when its working...lol......plus its only two taps of the screen..at least you dont need to go through 5 or 6 menus like you used to...hehe

PlumSIP works great on my X1, I always flash it with English roms and put Yahei fonts on it.
you need to set up the for the "keycode.ini" if you wanna use your keyboard well for you xperia anyway
Brilliant piece of input. Thanks. I have been looking for ages.
After installing plumsip, do i need to install anything else? All the characters appear as empty squares
isn't it is pinyin format?? cause i dunno using other than pinyin..and the visual keypad of PlumSIP is big or not?

Alright, for WWE rom of X1, download and install Ce-Star 2.8c, brought you by Mobem. While installing, do not tick any SIP comes with the software. After installation, reboot, install either "PlumSIP V6.1" or "sogou Pinyin for mobile". for plumsip supports hard keyboard while sougou pinyin supports vast words of popular. they all comes with PinYin style of inputing. for handwriting style, use which comes with CE-Star as "手写输入".
Thanks guys, the only problem now is how to stop plumsip from changing my font. It changes it to this Times New ROman like font and makes certain things, like smses very small. Tried to change back to tahoma in xperiatweak but it doesnt work

Goodnight people ...
I have a question for you:
Because I hate the touchscreen keyboard, I wanted to know if there was a way to prevent it being opened automatically!
Let me explain .. when I write a new text message, a new mail, when I use opera but when I select any text box, it automatically opens the touchscreen keyboard!
can prevent this thing from happening?
I only use the HW keyboard ... and would prevent the automatic opening of the touchscreen keyboard!
I dug into the registry, more precisely here:
[HKLM \ Software \ Tegic \ eT9]
and all subfolders below ... I could not find anything about it!
How can I do?
Thanx!!!
Try this:
Code:
[I]HKCU\ControlPanel\Sip\TurnOffAutoDeploy[/I] = 1
[I]HKCU\ControlPanel\Sip\AllowChange[/I] = 0
[I]HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\Disable Auto SIP[/I] =1 (Note the space in "Internet Explorer"; there's a different directory without the space)
I found these online, so I don't know if they'll work.
Actually, I think only the second tweak ('AllowChange') is necessary. I remember trying it before. You have to know, however, that it will (should) completely disable the virtual keyboard; you can only launch the SIP by changing the value back to '1'.
yeah i used to turn it off with a tweak program. turning off auto works most places but not in opera. however later builds of opera wont show the onscreen keyboard if the physical is kicked out.
thanks for explanation ... really helpful, but my intention was not to completely disable the keypad, but only prevent it opened automatically!
I don't like the on-screen keyboard popping up all the time either. So I took an interest in this thread. I found that of the suggested registry changes mentioned above, the oly one I needed to impliment was this one:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sip\TurnOffAutoDeploy = 1
This seems to keep the on-screen keyboard from popping up on its own, but still allows me to access the keyboard when I need it.
Hopes this is helpful...

I tried one of the tweaks I listed a few months ago. I think the "AllowChange" tweak disables the launch (auto and manual) of the virtual keyboard.
I remember helping someone on an EnergyROM thread about this same topic. He wanted to completely disable the virtual keyboard, so he was happy with the tweak.

You could just add a DWORD for the "TurnOffAutoDeploy" key. That should suffice.
You're welcome for the tweak, but I understand the problem of having to remod the registry and soft reset when you need it. Maybe you could push for an app that can "switch" the registry key for you without a soft reset?

You're right... I never thought to create the DWORD!
I try now... and then I post the result!
PS: I can create an app that modifies the registry to enable and disable the touchpad, but I think it is impossible to avoid the SR, because without it, the touchpad still does not work even after I edit the registry, because this type of change requires necessarily an SR to become effective.
I've tried to add manually the DWORD "TurnOffAutoDeploy=1", but the problem isn't solved!!!
PS: I can create 2 different CAB... 1 for "Powering ON" and 1 for "Powering Off" the Touchpad... because i'm not a programmer, and i haven't the necessary competence to create an application in c++!
The only one problem, is that i don't know how to avoid the SR necessary to make active the change!
If I find a way to solve the SR problem, i have solved my touchpad problem!

You can try Mobilnaut SYM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459253).
When Mobilnaut SYM is activated, the SIP does not pop up when the keyboard is open.
for my it work with the "Deploy" reg kack. the "allow" one killed it all toghether. I't wouldn't apear, even if i click it.
I have a diferente problem now. I'm Portuguese, I need special char "ç" a lot. my harware keyboard doesn't have that. so I have to pop up the SIP every time just for that one.
Can someaone develop a small app i can link to a hardware button, that all it does is type "ç"?
Thank you!
