Question Storage Speed - Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G

My phone has started lagging, so I have made a storage benchmark. I have found that my sequential writes are at about 30MB/s.
I find this a bit too slow.
Unfortunately, I was not able to find any other reliable sources to compare my results with.
What is your experience with storage speed?

What exact app did you use? Maybe I can give it a go so you can compare against something

I have used CPDT Benchmark.

Here's what I got

Thank you. A huge difference!
Any thoughts on what it would be caused by?
I will try to free up some space and see how it goes.

Our sequential write speed graphs look quite different. Mine looks consistent as it probably writes same file couple of times to test, but yours looks all over the place..

I have tried changing lots of settings, deleting fotos and videos. Didn't help.
Finally I have deleted lots of unused/deep sleep apps. And guess what, the speed is back to normal.
My guess some app tried accessing storage all the time and that interrupted writing as seen in the graph.
Your graph also shows some downspikes, which I guess, is not the best sign for the performance.

I get even bigger numbers, what version you have guys? I have the 256Gb

Mine is 128GB version

128GB, wish i had 256 i need more storage.

Is SD Card not an option for you?

I don't like separate storage and SD cards are slow, but i might get one if i run out of storage.

Samsung new UHS-1 series microSD for LTE phones

Samsung's memory cards were updated late Wednesday with large-scale production one of the world's fastest microSD cards. The new 16GB microSDHC card runs at the same UHS-1 (Ultra High Speed-1) spec normally used for the latest full-size SD cards, giving it performance that would previously have been reserved for pro memory for DSLRs and video cameras. Sequential read speeds peak at about 80MB per second, or roughly four times the 21MB of regular microSD cards.
The storage is ostensibly meant for LTE-capable smartphones and tablets, where flash memory speed could bottleneck the connection. It should nonetheless be useful for cameras that take microSD storage and support UHS-1. Samsung reached the density through a combination of its more recent 20-nanometer manufacturing process to build 64-gigabit (8GB) chip layers as well as a toggle DDR2 interface that can saturate the newly available bandwidth.
Release schedules and prices weren't given out, although mass production usually precedes a launch within a few months or less.

We need to know which file system those cards are formated in order to reach the high speed. If it is exFAT, then those numbers are pointless as all the smart phone storage currently formatted in FAT32 which is much slower.
Awesome, now just tell me how to fit one in my One X.

They have 32gb built in Rom, for me its smart move as I have had probs with sd slots on previous phones
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
sorry guys I ran thru and posted at all the lte phones I knew off top of my head , I thought only the nexus didn't have an sd card ..
so how will flashing roms via recovery and such work here just never wipe the ext-sd ?

It's a proper partition as opposed to a virtual partition like transformer prime. Wipe is fine, just don't tell it to wipe sd partition.
Only issue at the moment is that recovery doesn't have UMS, so if you don't have a booting OS and don't have backup/rom on phone then you are in a bit of a pickle Will be resolved when recoveries get more advanced. Very early days.

Nope. Got 12064 twice out of two runs though. I wonder what the chance of that happening is. Never seen it before
My RAM score was identical to yours. Again, odd. Everything else bar Database I/O (550) and SD read (37.7MB/s) was a few points lower. SD write was much lower (9.8MB/s), but perhaps all the reflashing I've done lately has caused some severe write amplification (how do eMMC controllers deal with this?) Can't exactly 'reformat' the whole NAND, either.

Over time my write speed decreased to about 10M/s but after a format of the sd card it went back to 20/30MB/s, my read speed used to be able to get up to 50MB/s but i think that was the kernel that was helping it.

Sorry can't tell you for the SD card you mentioned. But I'm using the Hama SDXC 64GB Class 10 which is realy good when considering the access times.
All is running flawlessly with this card.
and you considered this question "Urgent"???

Urgent is when your house is on fire and you need to get the kids out ! This just a small NON urgent little thingy.....
Urgent is when you have to pee and the next exit is 20 miles away!
As we are all attached to our devices these days when you run out of storage space that could be considered urgent.
Anyway, we can leave that philosophical question for later.
This is the micro SD I bought for my M8. I put all my pictures, videos and music on it and I've not noticed any problems with read/write or playback issues.

That's a fine card. Depends what you mean by "lag", it's not infinitely fast, but it's a good one.

Format SD as Internal - SM-T320 8.4 wifi?

Can anyone confirm this has been fixed in nightly? Can't find a definite answer. Thanks
Flashed it yesterday and setup my 16 gig card as internal storage. Works but I'm now having issues with TWRP it can't handle the way the file system is setup. I also can't get selinux disabled. I spent yesterday searching for answers and came up with nothing. My guess is it's because nightly. I'm also thinking that flashing TWRP with Flashify wasn't the best idea.
I fixed my tab and reached my goal of using adopted storage and everything seems to be working very well.
After much trial and error I can only assume at this point that my issues were my fault. I used TWRP 3.0.0-2 and flashed it with Flashify. At first I thought Flashify might not be doing the job but it worked just fine. Cm13.0-20160305-Nightly is the one I flashed. I can't be sure where exactly where I went wrong it was late the night I originally flashed this rom. I also though maybe CM13 was too bleeding edge to work as great as its working now.
One thing I feel I should mention. When you set up adopted storage it may tell your your card is too slow. This may not be the case. I went through this process close to 10 times flashing, setting everything up and then starting over. Each time the results were different on the SD card. I even switched up cards and still got inconsistent results of the performance of the SD Card. Right now I'm using a 32 gig Evo+ by Samsung. They have them at Best Buy in the Samsung section. I got mine on sale for $13. Nice. Android told me this card was slow as well. However I'm not seeing it. Quick response and this tab is handling all the games I throw at it. Its main purpose the last couple of days has been using it to remote play some GTA with a pairs DS4. Amazing! I've also been using an app called Remotr to stream my PC games to my tablet and using my DS4 controller for that as well.
Unreal how awesome this thing is performing. Thanks to who made this possible. Any questions let me know. I'll do my best to help.

SanDisk Ultra 200GB MicroSD Card $59.99 (usually $249.99) - Amazon.com

I just wanted to let you all in on this before the offer is over!
SanDisk Ultra 200GB MicroSD Card ($59.99, usually $249.99).
The offer ends in 12 hours, I think many of you might want to take the dive as I have.

Writes are too slow.
Curious if anyone has attempted to use this exact model card as adopted storage in MM 6.0 and how it performs. But yes, it doesn't bench very well.
Cheers,
Kermee
Gonna grab myself one of these, as they have been reported to work quite well in the Shield.

Quick feedback, marshmallow said the 200gb sd card was too slow for internal usage so to expect choppy performance. What a downer, game installs were choppy - most apps crashed waiting for response. Gonna put back my 64GB Sandisk Extreme UHS3 and use the 200gb for my SurfacePro3.
Bottomline: Do not buy this if you want to use it as Internal Storage on Marshmallow compatible devices.
I've been using one of these with my shield atv for 3 weeks now, a lot of games installed and no choppiness/lag/stutter/whatever. Download speeds for additional game content are very good and load times are fast as well. Excellent full hd/2k/4k streaming in Kodi 16 with no buffering, glitching. I haven't used Geforce Now or pc game streaming (I haven't got a Geforce card in my pc) so I can't vouch for speeds with them.

Put them between [HIDE ] and [/HIDE ] (without spaces, shortcut at upper right of option bar):
