Hi team.
Is anyone experiencing overheating issues while gaming with Game Turbo on?
I got the phone throttle while playing Diablo and Call of Duty with the default in-game settings.
Tried several different Game Turbo configs but none of them makes any difference.
Tried resetting the phone, although it is new, with no luck...
Disabling Game Turbo solves the problem.
Reproduced the issue with 3DMark.
Disabling Game Turbo yields lower but stable results.

I don't mind the lower graphics but I like the in-game menu Game Turbo provides.
Stock MIUI 13.0.5, Android 12
Game Turbo (Security app) 6.2.3
I had overheating issue while recording the timelapse on the sun.
After 20 minutes of 30-minute timelapse phone stops with overheating message.
I didn't enable performance mode or Game Turbo mode at all.
I think that the phone will work well in normal conditions but if you push it will overheat due small size and not enough room for proper cooling.
have you tried disable joyose app?
Lot of conflict report but many people say it's the culprit.
I debloated my 12X few days ago using this guide - https://lucacesarano.medium.com/xiaomi-super-bloatware-list-2020-db38ace9e9e1

the phone doesn't overheat and throttle while playing without Game Turbo, despite its small size;
perhaps the sun heated up your phone additionally

very likely the sun heated the phone, but at the same time I recorded the same timelapse with A52S and had no problem with overheating

People say that I may brick my phone if I remove Joyoce (disable button is grayed out...)
Tried updating it instead to latest version - the heating problem persists.
Updated Game Turbo (Security App) to latest version.
Tried even the Chinese one.
The issue still persists.
Anyone knows a proven way to submit the issue to Xiaomi?
Did that via the Feedback app, but I am sceptic about it.

Yeah, your phone doesn't seem to throttle.
Will debloat mine, including the Joyose removal, as you suggested.
Will post results after that.
In the meantime is your phone stock?
Any further suggestions?

The phone is stock, default EU version. Just debloated. I am planning to unlock the bootloader and install Xiaomi.eu, but that will wait a little bit.
I didn't have any issues with debloating so I presume you will be fine. Of course, debloat the phone at your own risk.
I usually don't use the phone for gaming so I don't know what to do in that part.
I use DND and power save mode overnight, not that this will help you, but it might save a little battery time.
Also, I tried to play Diablo Immortal for a few hours and didn't experience any issues. The phone got warmer, but that's it.
de-bloated the phone - all apps from the suggested list were removed, including Joyose, although some were not even installed;
the good thing is that everything seems fine after the de-bloat;
the bad - my phone still throttles...
Security and Battery and performance apps updated and all data cleared;
rebooted;
Edit: I enabled the Perf Optimization option in Turbo (disabled by default), and hallelujah - no throttling
That is great to hear!
The issue re-appeared a couple of weeks after the initial fix...
No auto updates.
No Joyose app.
Disabling Game Turbo (with Battery and perf app data wipe) is the only fix so far...
Will update relevant apps and will post results soon.

I am monitoring my battery through BetterBatteryStatus. I see that the PowerManagerService kernel wakelock is keeping my phone from going to sleep. It keeps the phone on for nearly 120 mins in a day. Any idea of what that could be? I suspect that it is due to the Smart Stay feature of Galaxy S3 and I just disabled it now.
I'm getting this on CM 10.1, so no power stay. Wondering what it is too though.
PowerManagerService is basically a catch-all for partial wakelocks (wakelocks requested by non system apps). To see which apps are actually requesting the wakelocks, go to the Partial Wakelocks screen.

Use Better Battery Stats. instead of looking at the Kernel Wakelocks, switch it to partial wakelocks, and if I understand correctly, the sum of the partial wakelocks is effectively the powermanagementservice wakelock
Just wanted to say that i too had a lot of partial wakelocks draining battery on my SGS3 CM11 (using ART) but I've managed to solve the problem via cleaning the cache in settings->storage. Since then, the CPU is awaken only 19% of time and my batt last 5/6 days with WiFi, Now etc.. (I have a 7000mh zerolemon)

Have you seen any benefits by switching to ART?
If I clean the cache, what will it delete? Will I lose all my App settings and game levels? I have about 54Mb in there.

I just tried clearing and a message came up saying "Security policy restricts clearing of this app's cache."
Is this normal? How can I find out which app is causing the problem?
I have a Samsung galaxy note 2 and every time I lock lock my phone it suddenly turns right back on. It's been happening for two days now. I've tried factory reset and hard reset.. nothing seems to work. Looked at several forums but none seem to help either. Use wake lock app and it says this ..see attachment
Same here with various audio partial wakelocks that add up to 12 days of kernel wakelocks. This started when I upgraded to:
gapps-kk-20140606 & cm-11-20140611-snapshot-m7-snapshot kernel 3.0101-cyanogenmod-g329d6a1 build03 #1
I have gmail sync disabled but contacts sync on. I notice CM have added apollo to the lockscreen so this could be a bug I need to search for

Hi guys!
I understand some of the people who realised that games which support higher refresh, but OnePlus was capped to 60fps for massive games, this is ridiculous. Before I provide solutions to unlock 90fps, let me share some thoughts about how I discovered that games were capped to 60fps!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.razer.cortex&hl=en just provided new features to able shows FPS, but I discovered that while I playing Dead Trigger 2 with max settings, the phone shows 60fps. PUBG China version able to running with 90fps without stress!
Image below is Dead Trigger 2 which capped 60fps by OnePlus:

Below is PUBG China version:
So I suspected that OnePlus done something for it.
So I tried jOnePlus Tools [adb/root], and Force 90Hz:
And... volia! Full video link showing many games finally runs 90fps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIT0yBCPwis
If anyone doesn't trust the video above, you may try the app that I found to Force 90hz for your OnePlus device, witness it for yourself. I understand force 90hz on gaming will cause battery drain, but we have Warp Charge which still retains fast charging speed while gaming, so who cares?
I hope the OnePlus team developer can do something about frame limited issues on massive games.

Games list which supports high refresh rate: https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/09/15/android-games-phones-high-frame-rates-90-120fps/

This trick works, watch the video from OP.
For stay at 90Hz but game still runs at 60Hz, just change to Auto 90Hz (from jOnePlusTools) or set to 90Hz from Settings App, because that's phone's default settings.

Hi thanks for reply... Yeah I don't have the op7t I'm using the X2 Pro so can't use the app.... We have the same issue and was mainly curious to see if game updates or system updates sorted the issue.
Does you now is there any different from force 90Hz by using ADB command ?
Is this same as this... and what actually is show in phone Settings?
adb shell settings put global oneplus_screen_refresh_rate 0
Can you test both metods? Tnx
I was able to see the 'force 90hz' and 'refresh rate' option in the 'app' untill i updated to ob2 on my 7t.
Anyway fixes ?
nevermind, fixed it. i was using pixel 4 props and that's why couldn't see the option
Thankyou for the answers love to read the point of views from the different peoples here also
Sorry If there's already some talks about that on different topics, but I find easier to talk about this latest release on a centralised one.
My findings are that Oplus updated the gamebar which now takes more onscreen space, but is now easier to use
The second one is a real thermal behavior change : I used to flash Omega Kernel on 11.2.5.5 and quickly the o+ 9Pro stabilized under 42/43°C . On the latest OOs build with stock kernel, I'm now @ 37-38°C after 30 min of playing the same game. 5-6 degres gained is pretty a good upgrade.
I'll check what are the photo behavior changes as I've done few reproductible raw photos to test, and see how the white balance upgrades are this week end

I deeply can't say that comparing two different iteration of kernel. But it appears to me O+ finally made some progress concerning power and heat behaviour.

I'm running Omega, but I was running omega before so although I'm sure Omega helps battery, it was still not great before the update. The new changes he made to reduce watermarking may have been a factor, and I also disabled RAM optimization in Oneplus settings which I'm pretty sure helped.

The notification thing is most likely due to Oneplus's "Intelligent control" for battery saving. It may be "optimizing power usage" too aggressively for your apps. Go to the power settings for each app with the issue individually and change it to "do not optimize" to ensure you get notifications on time
Is adaptive battery doing good for yall? I'm sometimes confused by it because I notice the power saving is on sometimes while using my phone at a usual time I normally do.
I have yet to see power saving mode on while I'm sleeping. I go to bed about the same time every night but wake up at different times.
I even check to see if power saving is on when I wake up to use the bathroom to find that it's not on.
What is going on lol.
It is junk on my Note 10+'s. I never use it as it will cause erratic behavior and nol increase battery life.
Should've nothing to do with the power saving mode.
I like this explanation:
The feature aims to predict the app you’re going to use and only allow those frequently-used apps to run in the background. The apps you rarely or never use will have a strict level of restrictions to help you save battery life.
The Adaptive Battery feature improves over time, as it learns how often you use your apps. When the feature has picked up how often you use your apps, it will place them in App Standby Buckets. These buckets are Active, Working Set, Frequent, Rare, and Never.

It doesn't.
To see if global power management is active, go to Developer options>standby apps. If it's not active all bucket states will show as active and can't be altered (state seems to be changable but doesn't keep).
This is Google software and unless you want your Android to be tripping over buckets, don't use it! The concept sounds real witty and clever with cool buzz words but *surprise* it never worked right
It will however cause erratic behaviors and user anger issues. May increase battery consumption too.

That's how it's suppose to be; global power management is disabled!
When it's active you can alter the bucket states.
I played with for weeks with it enabled and altering their states does nothing noticeable, maybe because the N10+ ram is very fast even with a very high work load.
Invariably though when global power management is active erratic behaviors like bluetooth cut outs prevail. No increase in battery life, even the opposite... and even after 2+ weeks nothing but trouble. The N10+ runs far better without it once hand optimized!

So the few of us that bought this phone so far probably encountered some bugs here and there.
Let's share them and try to help each other, or even make Vivo aware of it.
1) Not Vivo exclusive, but the LTPO 3.0 display never drops to 1hz for me.
I've read it happens on S22 as well, OPPO, ONP phones.
Will update more in the future.
My refresh rate is set at 120hz but why does it still go down to as low as 10? Shouldn't it remain 120 no matter what since that's where I set it?
That's how LTPO works, in order to save battery as well.
You barely notice it though, i also set 120hz and i don't feel when it gets down.
set light mode and brightness more than 70% and screen will go 1hz at still.
problems - a lot of apps crashes/not start. diablo immortal not working at all

Just curious, one question to the owners of funtouch os: do you have google lens integrated into your camera app enabling a barcode scan?
I do not find any possibility to do that with the global (origin os, Chinese) version. Apparently one needs an extra barcode scanning app...

I do not find any possibility to do that with the global (origin os, Chinese) version. Apparently one needs an extra barcode scanning app...
Click to collapse
You can scan barcodes in Jovi Vision.
Camera -> More -> Jovi Vision.
But I think only chinese barcodes are supported.
It didn't work for any euro barcode I tried.

I've noticed that after using the vivo 50W wireless charger to charge the phone to 100% then checking battery health in devcheck or any other app for that matter it will show "Overvoltage" in battery health. Sometimes it happens randomly during the day. It will return back to "Good" after rebooting the phone but then after a while it will show Overvoltage again. Is this because the phone has dual-cell battery? A software bug? Because I'm not having any battery issues whatsoever like overheating and battery backup has been great.
Whilst using night mode sometimes, the phone takes too long to process. Then ends up turning the picture into a fully green picture. So none of the original image is saved. Only green screen. Any ideas on how to fix this?
