And, so you know. AVGA is the stock ATT-U1 build, so you'll get OTA when they start rolling out for U1

XAA is only the U1 firmware. It is compatable with the U version but your phone will have to be unlocked version to be used outside the US if it's carrier branded and not paid off I doubt it will work on non US carriers

If you flash the N975U1 version you'll lose WiFi calling. I flashed both Android 9 and 10 of the U1 version on my carrier locked N975U and lost the option for WiFi calling. flashed back to stock N975U firmware Android 9 and 10 and got the WiFi calling back.
Cant you just flash carrier CSC to get the features?

SM-N975U update to Android 10
I am writing this just to offer a clearer explanation to those outside the US but with carrier unlocked devices but models for the US market. Of course you won't get OTA updates since the firmware released in other countries is not compatible with unlocked US phones (firmware is based on device model and Samsung has different device models for the US and other international markets). Your best bet at an update is to download the official firmware released in the US and use it to flash your device. I did this with Note 10+. Since the device is already carrier unlocked, I'd recommend using the csc USC variant of the firmware for your specific device. In my case I used ODIN 3.14.4 to update the firmware. I downloaded the firmware via Frija. (Took a while to figure out which specific firmware worked on my device though). I think some versions of ODIN do not work with some variants of the firmware but someone else should confirm that. As usual do not be tempted to use an unofficial firmware (modified by you or anyone else) because as soon as Knox detects this firmware the e-fuse will be triggered.
My 10 is carrier locked to At&t. When I used U1 firmware I just flashed U csc and I had wifi calling advanced messaging. All that needs to be done is flash any carrier U firmware as they are all the same and all should be good to go. All firmware is the same, USC..Tmobile..Verizon. The firmware will provision to your sim. Using Odin to flash firmware from Sammobile or Frija will not trip Knox.

Wait, you were able to flash a U csc over U1 firmware with without issue?
Yep, only issue I had was software update was missing from settings. I flashed unlock firmware, then just the U csc and I had wifi calling and advance messages.

So I like to use Samfirm or Frija to download the latest firmware since updating to Android 10 my phone no longer seems to be able to process OTA updates with a T-Mobile Note 10+. So anyway, I wanted to try the unlocked version of the firmware so I entered my model number into both Frija and Samfirm, SM-N975U1 (1 added for unlocked model) and XAA for region unlocked. Well, I downloaded, flashed in Odin, and I somehow ended up with the Star Wars version of the firmware. That doesn't seem right, does it?
I cant remember the exact version of Starwars, but there are 2 different firmware. One is basic the other is starwars. I think the ones that say OYZ for csc is Starwars

Is your country csc included in the multi csc of the firmware you are downloading?
If yes then don't flash csc. Just flash the firmware will do. Your csc will remain amd ota should still work.. Never tried it though..
But honestly just wait for ota.

So, I just found out by mistake, that the latest firmware listed by Sammobile for Australia, is the Thom Browne firmware.
So for those with this model, who wanted the themes etc, enjoy.

Sorry for digging this up, can I install this on a UK FOLD3 or will I get locked to AUS carriers or something?
You wouldn't get carrier locked, just use Home_CSC.
But you'd need to work out which firmware is for TB. I found out by mistake, as Sammobile had it marked as the general Fold3 Firmware, when in fact it was TB Edition.

Hello @Xaad1219 , I want to do something similar to what you did. I have s20 G981N . I bought it from Korea and it was sold by SKT carrier (my phone is not locked on carrier) . I want to convert my phone to Global or Korean Unlocked (no carrier). I have snapdragon version. I am pretty new to Samsung devices. Can you help me with some research or point me to resources. Thanks in advance.

Partial success flashing G981N (Korea) phone with G981U1 firmware.
Use BL and CP from stock firmware with AP and HOME_CSC from U1 firmware.
Make sure binary bit is the same.
Example:
SM-G981N_KOO_G981NKSS1EUI4 [Original Stock KOO Firmware]
SM-G981U1_TMB_G981U1UEU1DUCC [ Unlocked TMB Firmware]
both of the above have binary bit 1
You may be able to cross flash with different binary bits but I haven't tested it. Try to find firmware versions that were released around the same time.
