Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 in bootloop.
Hey there.
I have a tablet - Samsung Galaxy Tab S4. There was quite a lot of data on it, but it worked fine. Recently, it turned off without any reason and after that it could no longer turn on. Now the tablet has an eternal reboot and it does not boot into the system.
Error in recovery:
! ! Caution! !
Not enough storage resource.
Perform "lacking storage booting".
The recovery says that I can try to boot my tablet using lacking storage booting. But for some reason, I don’t see such an item in the recovery (please look at the photo: https://postimg.cc/XBFrycqF/c9784539). Maybe I should try to install different version of official Samsung firmware or different version of official Samsung recovery that will have function of lacking storage booting?
I understand that this issue is because my tablet hasn't enough memory and something needs to be removed from memory to allow the tablet to boot.
I know that there is variant to delete all data from the tablet - use factory reset through recovery, but I cannot do this because there is important data stored on the tablet.
Please help me what can I do in this situation and how can I enter to the file system for delete something from the tablet? Maybe can I delete some unnecessary files by connecting the tablet to a computer? When I tried to connect the tablet to the computer, nothing happened - the computer does not see the tablet.
I have tried to boot in safe mode but it not helped me
Also I had an idea - install custom recovery TWRP, but as I understand - Samsung Security Folder will be deleted after that due to Knox protection triggering. It also no good for me because I store my important data in Samsung Security Folder. I have tried severely times wipe cache partition, but it's not working for me.
Help me please.
Thanks a lot.
By the way, I found information on the Internet about programs: system recovery program - ReiBoot-Android System Repair from Tenorshare and data recovery program - Tenorshare - UltData for Android.
Has anyone heard of these programs?
Maybe they will help in my case?
I thought about solving this problem and it seems to me that first of all it is worth paying attention to the following:
Samsung recommends to use the lacking storage booting mode in recovery - maybe it's worth to try to use it?
But the problem is that I could not find such a function in my recovery. Maybe it's hidden somewhere?
I think that probably there is no such function in my recovery. If it's true, it's might be worth to try to install different version of the official recovery by Samsung, which will have a boot function - "lacking storage booting".
In result the Knox counter will not work and all data will not have to be deleted from the tablet.

Samsung Galaxy ACE 2 i8160 - SpoofFW "Restore" without any backup [finished]
Hello,
I bought an ACE 2 for my son, he routed these device (without which I knew about...) and does this with a software called heimdall under Linux. He "backuped" his PIT before (which is the partitioning scheme I readed somewhere on xda).
This part is no problem he said (I think differently about this, but...)
Then he wanted to update the firmware, so he downloaded a software called SpoofFW (I found about this app here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=959806) and clicked "Restore" under the menu. After that the device tried to reboot and now it is in a thing that is called bootloop I believe (I readed somewhere here on xda about that, the device is booting to the Samsung Logo and then after a while it is booting again and so on)
We have a Linux PC (with heimdall) and I installed on my Windows PC a software called Odin and the Android SDK (have no idea if it is needed, but I readed somewhere that it has a tool named adb which is needed to fix some problems of Android smartphones)
An USB connector and an installed Kies. The phone dosn't responsed to these Software but it dosn't boot up, so I think it is normal. All drivers are get installed which was ask for after pluging in the phone to the Windows PC, except the MPT driver.
Also we have microsd cards here.
The phone comes in the screen for flashing and the screen titled "Android system recovery (3e)", but the last one starts with these output:
-- Appling Multi-CSC...
Can't access to '/system/csc/EPL/system'.
Successfully applied multi-CSC.

I can navigat in the menu above with the volum keys.
The problem is I have no idea about android/smartphone rooting things (like my son...), but about computer in general (and I can use the forum search, which delivered no result).
I hope that anyone here can help us with this and do it.
Yours faithfully,
Thorsten Mueller
p.s. he had also written down the product code.

The way to get the Smartphone back to work, after these mistake is to flash the original firmware (for Germany the Poland/2012 April/2.3.6/8160XXLD8/8160OXXLD3 works very well.

Thank you for the tip, but that has made no difference. It goes still in bootloop, after a wipe of data and cache.
install stock rom via odin u can ask here for help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1700613
I have been pulling my hair out over my Galaxy S4 recently. I think it is an issue where a virus has embedded itself deep into the OS or flash partitions that are not affected by ROM factory firmware flashing. Everytime I re-flash I have to reformat and wipe cache partition to stop it from being stuck on T-Mobile boot logo. The Samsung boot logo is choppy and not fluid like it once was, indicating extra boot time application loading. I have reflashed different firmwares multiple times and to no avail. I used a VPN proxy called Betternet and now my phone keeps getting internet in different locations of the world following an odd traceroute following the subnet of 10.170.205.XXX before reaching its final destination. And on top of that every new computer I use for mobile hotspot usb tethering it crashes explorer and various other applications on my computer, I'm guessing it is an infected hotspot apk embedded in flash recovery injecting malicious code onto the computer via usb as soon as the usb tether fature is activated. Whenever I put the phone into Kies Recovery mode yellow triangle(where phone will not boot, and no recovery menu with Vol up and power buttons) Kies says it does not recognize the phone and will not let me flash factory recovery firmware. I am pretty sure my phone is irreparable due to so many software issues. Is there any way to get a factory file system Image restored onto the phone. I have tried everything even installing TWRP and removing everything that way, but I have the strangest feeling it doesn't clear some of the flash partitions used for recovery and flashing where this Virus may be hiding it's malicious code and executing it every time I flash factory firmware. I'm on 4.4.4 FNK 16gb Galaxy S4 black model SGH-M919
Any advice I have not mentioned would be greatly appreciated because I do not feel like shelling out another 400 bucks for a new phone.
Thanks for taking the time to read that!

Could be it's not a virus, but just a lot of apps, or even one rogue app. But, just to be sure, you can do the following. :
1) Download one of these Firmwares to a Windows PC- either one of the top two:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-tmobile/general/firmwares-official-mdl-mk2-nb4-t2816508
2) Make sure you have ODIN 3.07 or newer installed on the PC, and that you have the Kies drivers installed. You may have to install Kies to get these.
3) If you have TWRP installed or other recovery, do a full NAND backup to you external SD card
4) Use Advance Wipe in TWRP to wipe Dalvik, System, Data, Cache
5) Use ODIN to flash the firmware you downloaded in step 1. Look here for info:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...odin-thread-return-to-stock-fix-soft-t2915530
This will get you back to full stock. You could make another NAND backup at this point, in case you run into something else.
Don't let the system download/restore any applications. Let it settle in for a few days. If it is working, then allow it to restore your apps.
suddenly the GT-I8160P started to crash and reboot to crash again and so on.
details:
- the system metioned to be in reduced functionality due to less storage capacity.
- the phone rebooted after starting some app to analyse the memory usage.
- now the system comes up until a few seconds after the lock screen is displayed.
- I am able to unlock the phone and start an app (for example Contacts) and see all contacts are still there.
- but the time is not enough to do anything useful until the phone crashes again and reboots.
I tried:
- first use odin and flash the stock rom again > no result (phone is still on stock rom (4.1.2))
- odin flash the 4.1.2 stock rom without branding > time to crash is a little longer
I want to recover the contacts and some App data (i.e. Whats-App)
The idea to send a stop command via adb shell would be very good.
But adb doesn't find the device as it boots up. Cause the windows system hasn't the time to properly install the driver MTP-USB-Device before the phone crashes again and hence is disconnected what causes the driver installation to break. ADB can connect to the device when it is in recovery mode. BUt am I able to access the file system in this state?
As I am looking through the net for several hours now and trying several suggestions I was not able to get any progress...
If there is any idea I could try either for accessing the data or stopping the phone from rebooting your help would be very welcome. Thank you in advance
Maybe there is any solution with a configuration which is an initramfs which allows to mount the file system and to be connected anyhow (i.e. adb) but I didn't get any hint to something pointing into a similar direction. At least not without wiping the phone (including the data) in advance...
Does Clockwork Mod could be an option
I found the ClockworkMod.
Could this help to get an Recovery boot ?
Does an installation preserves the actual data on the device ?
How did you solve, please help
The issue is still under long-term investigation...
actual status : the boot loop is caused by a massive error in the filesystem of the data partition of the internal memory.
Without dedicated knowledge of the android / Linux / Unix system / boot process / and command line tools one will have no chance to recover anything.
Hence, the recovery of most user-data is very hard / not possible / not economic ... I still try some ideas with imaging the internal memory. But actually I have no great hope to get the user-data out of the boot-looping device.
Most parts of configuration (either system and apps) data might be able to be recovered.
Finally a factory rest will become necessary to get the functional device back.
After the factory reset there is no reason why the device should not work probably.
Samsung S4 mini (GT i9195) in Bootloop and cannot start recovery mode (No command)
I WOULD LIKE TO BACKUP THE DATA FROM INTERNAL PHONE MEMORY
Phone is 2 years old, as original and was never rooted and I have never added any inofficial software to it. I think Android 4.4.2 is on it, but cannot access the phone to find out.
First it did not start up again at all after last time the battery was low. Also it did not charge anymore, nor vibrate nor did the computer identify it when connected. Also tried with different battery and chargers, phone was completely dead.
I disasambled it and cleaned it and now at least it boots again and charges, but its stuck into bootloop and only thing I can do is going into download mode. In recovery mode it shows "no command" with lying android and warning signal. It wont switch into the menu for recovery options. Hence I have to try via the download mode to fix the bootloop I guess? - Any intelligence on this? Main thing for me is the data, so want to get the phone running again with all my data from apps etc. - is that possible?
I would buy a new phone anyways but have some important data in an application on this phone (a todo list with brainstorming I did for a job project) which I urgently need to recover. Is there any chance to get hold of this data which I assume must be stored on phone internal memory? Hence please suggest how I can backup the data from this phone. Also would be good if I can get pictures etc. saved.
Can I install Odin and CWR or TWRP in order to extract the data from phones internal memory? and if so, how? I am complete beginner to this...
Thanks for your help
Gisela
TWRP has MTP so you can transfer files from the phone. I can't say about app data. I think that'll only be saved if you had synced the apps with some account. Appdata syncing with Google account was only introduced with Marshmallow.
SOLVED - Update below.
Hey guys,
I have an S9 (SM-G960F) which appears to have auto-updated during the night and as a result will now not boot. I am making an assumption it was an update of some sort as when I checked the time on it at 1am it was fine, when I woke around 8.30am the phone was off and when powering it on I ran into the issue. To summarise, I power the device on, get the Samsung loading screen, then the black swipe pattern screen to decrypt the phone, followed by the padlock unlocking loading screen, then the phone reboots. Sometimes however, the device gets past the padlock loading screen and says it is optimising apps, which is then followed by a reboot, briefly says it is installing system update before landing me at the Android Recovery screen.
What I've tried:
- Soft reset
- Booting in safe mode (same result as booting normally)
- Clearing cache partition
- Clearing app data
- Lacking storage booting (the device was quite low on storage last time I checked)
Some other (maybe) useful info:
I haven't updated the phone for months, could be why it did an auto update.
I'm on EE in the UK but IIRC the phone is not locked to EE.
Android Recovery has the following info when I load into it
Code:
samsung/starltexx/starlte
9/PPR1.180610.011/G960FXXU2CSB9
(options to try again, erase app data, power off, view rescue log)
#Reboot Recovery Cause is [system_server:12259 RecoverySystemRescueParty]#
Support SINGLE-SKU
Block-Based OTA
Supported API: 3
Viewing the rescue log presents me with a stacktrace , the top of which is
Code:
*** FATAL EXCEPTION IN SYSTEM PROCESS: main
java.lang.RuntimeException: Failed to create service com.android.server.job.JobSchedulerService: service constructor threw an exception
(followed by the rest of the stacktrace I can get a picture of if necessary)
My goal here is to recover the photos on the internal storage as they don't appear to be backed up to Google photos, nor Samsung's alternative - which is particularly painful cause I'm the one usually preaching backups.
Is there anyway to recover the OS to retrieve data, or pull the data off the device without wiping it? I'm open to any suggestions on how to do this, the main goal here is saving my photos, hence why I have avoided a factory reset from the Android Recovery menu.
Hope I've been clear enough, but let me know if I need to clarify anything. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions!
Thanks,
Matt
Hey guys,
After spending all day tearing my hair out with this I managed to fix it, so I guess this thread can be closed. For anyone who gets into a similar situation...
I attempted to solve this by flashing the current firmware using Odin and booting into "download mode", found a copy on sammobile.com. This didn't work, leaving me in the same situation, and as I felt I was running out of options I tried using the latest firmware for my device. I found a copy using a tool I found on these forums - Frija. Fired up Odin and download mode again, selected the AP/BL/CP/HOME_CSC (I understand using HOME_CSC is important so as not to cause a factory reset) and this worked! This left all of my files intact and as a bonus I'm also up-to-date with Android too. I'm backing up my photos as we speak as I would hate to be in this situation again!
Hope that can help someone in the future.
Cheers,
Matt
Which version of Odin did you use?

I would really appreciate it if you post a YouTube tutorial on how to fix this. Because we are facing the same problem right now but I have no idea what solution you prescribed. Thank you and God bless.
