Had my trusty s21 ultra since day 1 .im liking the fold 4 but my main gripe is battery life m what are you guys getting . on my s21 ultra still to this day i am getting excellent batt life
battery life is excellent.
Same here, came from S21 Ultra, but the folds battery life is at least on par if not better. That's after using it for a good week.

any screens ? plz
Haven't tested it fully, but played a game in two sessions in parallel after work (split screen) from 6pm till 9pm. Pretty resource hungry game. And lost 22% of battery. That's on par with my S21U, but there only a smaller screen and only 1 game session.
I also jumped from S21U to Fold 4. I'm only three days in, so I'm still in the adjustment period. For me, battery life so far hasn't been as good, but it's not far off. If it helps, I've made it through three days of use, probably elevated use given the usual setup tasks. I expect that once the learning period ends and I've done some tuning that it'll be right around the same. And even if it's not quite as good, the benefits of the device outweigh any loss in battery life to me.
Same here s21 ultra to. Fold 4. Battery on par maybe slightly less but considering what the battery is running screen wise I'm good with it. Missing my 10x zoom a little but so far love this next device ture new phone not just a candy bar upgrade

How long are you on the FOLD and do you use it as your daily phone? Did you give it the time to 'learn' and adjust the battery to your usage? I now get about 23-24 hours between chargers with 5 hours of SOT and most of my correspondence and browsing on the inner screen. Yes, the S21 Ultra had a good battery life, the FOLD is not far of it though.
Also jumped from S21U to F4. The first few days, maybe the first week, battery life was noticeably worse. Not massively, but enough to notice. I fiddled with some sleep settings and after the AI did it's thing the last 3-4 days have been almost as good as the S21U, just a hair worse. I get through a full day with around 30-40% left now (S21U was closer to 50%). That's without doing anything drastic... a few apps disabled, but no rooting, and I don't even think I did any ADB disables this time, just straight on-device. I'm running 4-6 SOT for that BTW.
Also just switched from a S21 U to the Fold 4. The camera setup is weaker but only marginally, in nearly 2 years of owing the S21 U the x10 zoom lens was hardly used, so isn't missed, and the x3 optical lens is pretty close to the S21U.
The loss of the x10 optical lens however is more than made up for by the massive screen realestate and the multitasking functionality. Only had the Fold for a few days, but the amount of additional productivity is mind blowing, its a game changer for me.
Battery life has been great for me, its actually outlasted the S21 U. Very happy so far .

I charge to 85% most days, 100->0% would be around 6hrs+ screen on time. That's doing a bit of everything, including some gaming via an emulator.

This will be based off the Snap 600 Variant of the S4, Exynos should be the same or perform better.
There are lots of us, who have considered hopping. Many have & many have regretted it while some of us do enjoy the change. Lets ignore the spec battle for a few.
GS4 Pros:
* Easier to Handle
*IR Blaster
*Faster SOC
*Better Camera
*Better LT Support - Due to i9505 roms being compatible with S600 Variants of the device it seems to all be the same until kernel & modem. it means wider support
GS4 Cons:
*Still Laggy on custom Roms/Touchwiz bases
* AOSP would make you lose the features that makes S4 worth it
* 20-30% less battery life then GN2.
GN2 Pros:
*Great battery
*Bigger screen
*Spen features
*more support as of now
GN2 Cons:
* Sometimes can be battle to hold
* PPI
Both devices share a outdoor usage crutch, even on full brightness both are a pain sometimes if in direct sunlight.
Size:
The GN2 Has some more side bezel & is obviously slightly larger due to its .5inch larger display. The S4 takes a more curved approach to the edges which I think looks neater. The S4 Body also feels tighter then the GN2.

Bezels:
The S4 to me personally has the nicer body. Coming from the N2 you will feel at home with button placement, something some find awkward since they aren't used to it.
Camera:
13MP sounds may fancier then 8MP for sure, especially when the sensor is obviously larger on the S4 which makes the GN2s look dwarfed. But realtime shots?
GN2:
Downfall of GN2s slower shutter speed:
GS4:
Macro Quality:
Battery Life:
Depending on Kernel, Rom & usage Average Screen-time for the GS4 is 2.5- 5.5 Hours. GN2 Is way above this going for 7-9 Hours screen-ontime. You will lose battery an average of 20% faster. idle that left my GN2 at 92% after work put my GS4 at 72% with airplane mode, I had a day I left it alone at 71% and after work with no use my GS4 was 19% battery. I was able to juice that 19% for 1 hour and 40 minutes of use with kik after underclocking to 500mhz... else I would have been stranded with no ride.
Thoughts:
If you just bought a N2, I would stick with it unless your under remorse and think its too big. The S4 is an amazing device but you trade off battery life for an IR blaster, slightly better camera...and no Spen. If you want to switch because "Better specs" is all you see, dont. Touchwiz is lagging the S4 & Even custom roms slightly resolve the issue. Exynos 4 may not perform better in benchmarks but real time is were it currently outshines. The GN2 opens everything faster in tests I conducted even if by fractions of a second.
Another thing you will lose is the note taking abilities of the note & drawing capabilities. Using a Wacom stylus is 100x better then your finger.
There is no way to really say which is better. They are two different beasts and in the end you just have to follow your gut on whats more important within their feature sets. Both devices values WILL degrade the S4 will eventually be cheaply contracted & the NOTE2 will be replaced by the N3 without its contract price really dropping much (299/149 STILL!) so there's no reason to factor pricing anymore as choice, rather features at this point.
Both devices have amazing Rom support, if you are ok with battery life sacrifice for a newer feature set and something that is pocketable, Go GS4. If you want a device that will let your creative juices flow, or something to show off your note taking prowess & also is great as both a phone and tablet replacement and need something that you dont have to worry about battery life, go Note 2 if you are a extreme power user.
Either way you wont be disappointed.
~ Happy GN2 to GS4 user
**
If you think I should add more to this, feel free to point out what I missed/can add.
Pros:
Gn2 has by far the most superior battery life ever .
Not to laggy,
Loud speakers
Cons :
Spen was useless to me .
To big to hold by the end of the day.
Really it was made for size , but in the end I believe size was its only downfall as a phone it made a better tablet.
Im sure some didn't mind but I think we all know it grew to become uncomfortable as a phone to carry.
I still owned it 3 times over lol

Hi fellas..
I thought we needed one of these threads to get a clear image of how the phone performs IRL.
We all heard rather varying reports from the reviews, some good, other disastrous...
Here are the points to be considered while posting.
1. Please post your impressions of the battery here.
2. Please be specific about how you've used it during the day.
3. Screenshots of the battery settings are most welcome.
4. Show image of screen-on time as well as the list of apps
5. Brightness, is it auto? custom? If custom, %?
5. 3g / WiFi on? If yes for how long?
7. Haptic feedback?
8. Please share the details like which ROM,Kernel, MODs. :good:
Thank you!
I would also love to see how the battery performs. This is one of the main attractions for me. I understand that the screen is absolutely massive, but If I can get a full day of use out of it without needing a 4:00pm re-charge (my iPhone 4s) than I would be eternally grateful. I can't stand having a dead phone merely 8 hours after I charged it. Some days it`s dead by 2-3
I can't recall any reviews saying anything negative about the N1's battery?
Regardless, great idea for a thread -
I have been very curious how much the 'gestures while screen is off' affects battery life, in particular.
- Frank
The battery on this thing is a beast. It isn't perfect, and I'm sure it could be improved somewhat, but it dominates everything else at the moment.

I think this is the best thing I've heard all month. Finally a great battery in a great phone! I would sacrifice a bit of CPU speed for battery life any day.
Does seem very decent!
Can't post any specifics right now, but the battery does seem very, very good!
I've had the OPPO Finder (x907) which was a cool device but even with even very minimal use could barely make it through the day.
I'm using the OPPO Find 5 (x909) which has decent battery life for a light-medium user, but would displease most users and all power-users.
With the OPPO N1, I'm still evaluating it's battery life but so far it's ridiculously better than the OPPO Find 5. Perhaps with the CM11 rom this will improve even more. Another cool thing, because the screen is so big...you can turn the brightness way down and the screen is still extremely readable.

Great to hear that there is a large improvement over the find 5. "Return to innovation", as they say . And I never would have thought that the screen would be easier to read when dimmed due to the large display. It makes sense due to the fact that the letters are displayed large enough to still make out clearly while the screen is dimmed. Neat!
Regarding the brightness, could you perhaps take a day to operate and monitor the N1 while on low brightness? I'm curious to see how much better the battery performs while in a dimmed state. To see if it makes a noticeable difference.
N1 Owner
i used OPPO Find 5 as a daily driver it was doing ok, but once i got N1 it amazed me with it's battery life, sometimes i can use it for two days
or one day for full heavy use, which means around 4-6Hrs screen on, with Wifi and playing games (candy crush sometimes for 2-3 Hours) and it still got some battery life.
I really recommend it.
Anyone else using the snapdragon battery guru app? I have to wait another 3 days for the battery savings to start. I was using it for half a day yesterday but I was forced to reinstall when I tried to install some see-through CM theme that messed up the themer. So beware of that.
I can actually play games for hours at a time on this phone. Whereas on my other phones the heat and battery drainage prevented me from doing so.

Good Battery Life
Battery life is pretty good for heavy users too. I won't say its the best, I think Note 2 was better on TouchWiz, but its not bad by any yardstick. If you are worried about battery life, keep that aside in case of N1 while using ColorOS. I can't speak for CM or Omni atm.
Battery life is pretty good.. Depending on the OS I use. WIth CM10.2 which it came with I am usually able to get about a full days worth of battery life with around 40-50% left. Obviously depends what I do with it during the day. Most of the time I surf 9gag, read emails, chat. The usual. I occasionally use Plex to stream media from home which drains the battery more.
I noticed when I used ColorOS though, the battery life was severely diminished. I use the program Battery Widget Reborn which gives me a rough idea of how much battery life is remaining. on CM10.2 it would report a full charge can usually last at least 1 and a half days to 2. But in ColorOS, the program reports that on a full charge I can only use the battery for 23 hours. In reality, I normally find myself at around 20-30% when I go to bed. (the phone is generally unplugged at around 8am when I head for work and replugged to the charger at around midnight.)
Both were pretty much configured the same with 3-4 widgets on the home screen with nova launcher and Zedge changes my wallpaper every hour. I read emails often and do chatting occasionally. and surf 9gag often.
I would be disappointed if the N1's massive 3610 mAh battery couldn't compete against the other flagship phones especially when the other phones all use the more battery consuming LTE radio vs Oppo N1's HSPA+ only radio chip.
About battery life - my statistics...
I have just played with my brand new toy, so it is not a normal use for me...

my personal review about its battery is actually
depend upon its battery capacity....
for example. We've found here,
the non-famous brand with a power of 1500mAh,
it seems a little,
but if we compared towards its performance with its high usage,
it is still fine.

This is my number 1 deciding factor for this phone, given how poor the life is of the S6 and S6 edge. The rest of the phone for both of those was incredible - if the battery life on the Edge+ is decent, then Samsung have almost won the year.
I am hoping it will get through a day on 4G. Waiting for the device to ship

I really love how detailed the battery information is. When charging, it tells you how long you have left until full charge. The battery screen shows an estimated time and gives you options for power saving. I haven't had a situation where it was even close to dying. The only reason my battery is consumed so much is because I have bad cell service at my apartment.
I think This really would have been longer, but I hooked up to my laptop for a few min to install I drivers and set up sidessync.

+1 to this. I switched from the regular edge to the + and the battery lasts way longer. With the regular edge, I used to have to charge the phone in the car on the way home from work. Today I left work and I still had 63% left.

I currently have regular edge with 128gb of memory. I also have the green colour which I just love. However the battery is just killing me. I have to charge it basically every moment there is an opportunity for it or otherwise it will leave me without phone somewhere.
Why do you think that the battery is THAT much better? the battery capacity is just 400mAH bigger and the screen size is a bit bigger so it should compensate some of that. Ratianally thinking the battery should be only ~15% better but it is more than double.

I can't say for sure as I have only had the phone for about 5 days. Maybe it is the extra 400 mAh. Maybe it's just because I'm comparing a 5 day old phone (with a fresh new battery) with my several month old edge that had gone through countless charge cycles... I can't say definitively why the battery lasts longer until I've owned/used my + longer. All I can say is that it seems like a big improvement over the regular edge.

you should try to turn off the NFC or the bluetooth those things, they are battery killers. And try to use some of app to limit the background usage. It will works
Hi Chewing Gum, I've actually heard not to use task killers on the Edge + as they aggressively kill apps in the BG. I use BT for my watch so can't turn that off. And NFC is super minor. I don't want a phone where I have to turn off everything that makes it a great device so I can use for 20 minutes. Appreciate your thoughts, tho.
Any other ideas?
Does the battery really suck? I hope not.. I just bought mine.. I sold my OnePlus 2 and got extra money to buy it. I'm used to have a battery who lasts a long time with around 4h screen time
I can leave everything on my iPhone 6 Plus and use it heavy all day and still have charge left by the end of the day. This is what annoys me about Android, it's badly optimised where battery life is concerned. Hopefully M fixes this but I doubt it as L was supposed too. Annoying!

I'm getting 13 hours or more with over 5 hours of screen on time. I'm happy with that. I'm rarely going to be a way from a charger for 14 or more hours at a time. So for me this phone runs great! If I hit a charger hear and there where I can (in car, at my desk, etc..) I will likely never run out of battery. I use most of the phone's features daily. Not sure what is killing you guys tbh

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the LG G5 before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I have the H860N (dual sim) on build v10c. Take note I am only using SIM1 as the second slot is used by my 64GB microSD (it's a hybrid slot).
1st test
Usage:
WiFi only
2G Mobile network only
A lot of YouTube watching, some photo shooting, social networking in Facebook/Twitter/Instagram, some casual gaming (One More Dash, Stacks, Piano Tiles 2, etc.) and a lot of browsing as well.

There is LG's official bootloader unlock program for the unbranded EU H850.once u do that(only for h850) there is TWRP built for it too
This was originally posted by me in the battery life thread:
Bit over a week with the phone.
H850 stock rooted v10c. Xposed v83
Used greenify and amplify;disabled and removed some stock apps, AOD and daydream off.
Let phone top up for 1hr after reaching 100%full charge
Best battery life I've had on a phone with no kernel manipulation yet...
I reached 7hrs SOT with like 5hrs YouTube and 20hrs on battery...but this was the 2nd day and I thought it was a fluke.this last cycle was post worthy these pictures were taken evening of 5/4 after almost 36hrs on battery. I've gamed, browsed, used camera, streamed HD video and been on mobile data for most of it...that's balanced but heavy use.
My only gripe is that Wi-Fi does seem to drain me more than mobile data(no tests yet to back that up) still coming from g3 this is incredible!
Who cares if the s7 gets better battery life this has a smaller battery that does better than other's in the g-series, and it's replaceable(unlike comparable devices) giving the device more longevity.
This battery life reminds me of my g2.

what apps did you disable/remove i struggle to get 3 hours screen on time and this phone is starting to really annoy me thanks in advance
Well, compared to the Galaxy S7 i own, the SOT honestly sucks. I barely get more then 3,5 hours with Medium usage. Removed most of the bloadware, disabled background data usage on most Apps and still i can't see alot improvement.
The most I ever got was 6 hours and 30 mins with 19 percent left. No Wi-Fi with LTE on, Bluetooth off and the screen no more than 35%brightness . I used to have the note 4 att version and only got 4.5 with every single bloat app disable. I have cm brower ,cm launcher no facebook just messanger and Google app running. I'm sure you guys won't believe it but I really get amazing battery life with this phone. I'm at 41 % with 3 hours and 30 mins and 11 hours 20 mins since I lasted plug it. I have the t mobile version and here are the apps I have disable.
Here are some screenshots
I really can't complaint with a mix of Wifi and LTE. It's not as insane as my S7 exynos but it last me through the day and I have the spare battery. I have not charged my phone in a couple of days now. Also standby time is the best I have ever seen on a smartphone.

WTH, the max SOT i manage to get is like 2hrs!
Currently battery at 32% after taking off charge 11 hrs ago.. SOT is 1hr 11m
Android OS is showing as using 19% battery.
I think it's time for a factory reset...
I think that will be my next purchase
3 hrs.

Well, compared to the Galaxy S7 i own, the SOT honestly sucks. I barely get more then 3,5 hours with Medium usage. Removed most of the bloadware, disabled background data usage on most Apps and still i can't see alot improvement.

I get barely 3hrs of sot too with always on display.
Sorry wrong thread, post removed.
Some say that its 6 hours, some say its 3. Thats a huge gap and i dont know who to believe, but 3 hours seems more legit considering that battery size.
Yeah i don't know how they're getting 5-6HRs SOT that's just crazy! Considering the Battery Capacity only 2800mah

More than 7 hours is definitely possible.
Hi Everyone,
The F62/M62 is a battery champ for sure, but a lot of reviews indicate that the efficiency is not as great as the M51 with the 730G. Please post your screen on time so that everyone could benefit from it.
PS: I saw in the M51 thread that people were getting 15+ hours of screen on time by disabling a lot of useless apps using Samsung Package disabler pro. Has anyone tried something similar on F62?
Cheers!
Following. I get 17hrs+ on my M51 with Greenify and certain apps disabled. Interested to see how F62 performs in comparison.

I am getting 10hr of screen on time on average on Samsung f62.
Cons :
Other then that I face random heating near camera
GPU is not that powerfull, Jitters while playing in full graphics : cod, pubg, asphalt 9.
It took 2 hrs to charge the phone.
No system app lock.
Pros :
Display is awesome.
Camera is superb in daylight images.
Full Knox support
Waiting for custom ROMs.
Hi everyone,
Just got a new F62 but I don't find this to be a battery champ. I hardly get any screen on time and the usual brightness is just good enough to see the screen in the dark. Attached is my battery usage. (working from home don't need high brightness). Not entirely sure if this is an issue with my device or if I'm missing something that I should be doing (removing useless apps and installing greenify)
Seems like a lot of people don't know how to measure SOT.

What would be a better way to measure it in that case? I'm sort of a noob in this

You know although it may seem alot by the total time it was unplugged, I didn't use it much in the last 2 days as you see, just 5.5 hrs in 48 isn't much

Exactly.... i have samsung f62 device. The battery backup is just fab. When it comes to gpu at starting while playing a high end game like asphalt or cod the performance was about 60 fps. Gradually devices gets to heat up and the cpu tends to be slower like it literally drops to 30 in order to reduce heat and yhats a bad thing in this software as of mi and oppo phones the software won't reduce cpu speed even when device gets hot but thats not safe anyway as it may explode. So what's the thing? Nothing just wait for the update of play those high end games in a cool place where cpu gets cooler even when gpu is hot

Lol. I don’t even own this phone anymore. Gone back to using the weak note 20 ultra battery.
So far I've managed 10hr 14min with 26% battery still remaining.
That was 2:30hr using Google nav on max brightness. The rest was mostly watching YouTube with mid brightness. I use digital wellbeing to measure my screen time.
Note: My phone is running the latest F62 firmware and I have partially debloaded my phone with ADB
I am getting 10 Hr average SOT with a full charge, almost 10% drop overnight. Software is poorly optimized. Samsung is doing nothing about it. My phone is under the Flipkart Smart Upgrade Plan so I can't even do anything. This is not the performance of a 7000mah battery, I thought the heavyweight was a tradeoff but it's not. Feel cheated.
I can do between 13 and 16 hours of screen time, if I turn on power saving, limit CPU by 70%, reduce brightness by 10%, I get more than 15 hours easy! I also disabled some apps, which maybe helped the autonomy!
