EDIT - 23rd FEB - Version 2.4 fixes the issues with 'Events'.
The LONG awaited update makes facebook kickass! I just got one on my Titan. Exploring it, but so many visible changes already. Update this post soon. If anyone noticed changes do update us!
EDIT1: You can get it manually by going to marketplace and then facebook, press update
It will forget your user ID and password, so re-log-in.
EDIT2: It's a complete revamp of the UI. Excellent speed... Now supports time line feature too!
EDIT3: supports groups and pages as well as very reliable checkin. Photo albums load as quick on 3G as on wifi in previous version, even faster! Still can't "poke" back from the app. Push notifications need testing though
I've already changed my rating and review and given it 5 stars. Hope most users do it too so that others get an idea of how good this official app has become!
5 stars for me too. Therefore long wait for this update. With carbon for Twitter, I appreciate my omnia for a long time.

Just installed the update a couple of minutes ago. Man, THIS is how it should have looked and worked like in the first place. Really sexy and overall pretty useful now.
Sorry to say but the banner is even bigger and its just as laggy and slow. Try scrolling the panorama, it freezes and slows down... Quite disappointing.
Also there are still no notifications when pinning the inbox to the start screen...
Yes it got a bit better. But not much, the messages still take ages to load (implement a database!).
Push notifications still come in very delayed (but this might be an FB issue and not their fault).
Lets hope they will fix this soon and not let us wait another half year.
But the good thing is the design is better and it has more features. There is hope for a next version
EDIT: Other parts dont seem to be that laggy. Its mainly the frontpage and probably due to the collapsing of the appbar, that slows down the panning of the panorama.
Hmm no update showing available yet on my UK titan...
Edit...
Installing now
Is it just my or did they really remove the shake-to-refresh feature?

For me Panorama/without Panorama, the scrolling and panorama was a breeze! Could it be the internet connection difference? I am not sure about the notifications on mine yet. Ironically not a single notification yet
Message loading is much improved that last version, it could defo be better though.
I guess everyone is on there right now trying to download it at the same time. I get a message that reads " We couldn't load engough data to start the application. Please try again later." LOL....
Got the update also. Huge improvement from the older version, took them long enough though.

Well try panning the mainpage panorama from the news feed a full cycle back to the newsfeed. I mean horizontal panning, not the vertical scrolling itself (which is quite smooth). The horizontal panning freezes constantly and lags (Lumia 800). Which makes it a bit unpleasant to use...
I have just downloaded and for sure it kicks asses.
But this just makes me confuse. Is Microsoft trying to integrate everything in WP Apollo?
i mean, mango is first step when we have Facebook and Twitter deep linked in ( notification through Me Hub), but why MS keep updating the apps ?
i don't mean this is a bad move, but does it makes people care less about the social - life ability of next Windows Phone build?
Or they just wanna drop some stuffs to temp fix what Mango can't do about Facebook at the moment and then include it in Apollo?

dont know about you but panning on my DVP is much smoother if i swipe on the banner region instead of the contents region.

I was just using the old app this morning and remarking at how pathetic it performs. This update is soooo much smoother.

I am using an HTC Titan and I just tried it on my wife's Focus. It doesn't do anything on her phone either. Wierd!
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aitype.android.p
The editing features alone make it great. You can access copy or paste without waiting for android to show it. This is a unique feature. But there is much more to it.
I love the feature set in aitype. Had some issues with swipe accuracy on my s6 though, so moved to chrooma. Using chrooma on mzp now, but maybe I'll have to give ai another shot.
Edit : yep, way better on this phone. Thanks for the encouragement to try it again.
I've tried almost every keyboard on the play store and I've finally settled on Google keyboard. The correction and prediction isn't as good as Swiftkey, but it seems to be quite a bit faster to open and quicker to respond when swyping to type. Never tried AI keyboard, I'll give it a go.
I use fleksy all the time with kameleon like theme, numbers extension, ofc no space bar, and all big helvetica letters... i found that one better than swiftkey and gkeyboard..

It has been more than 2 years since I tried Flexsy on my Maxx. About that time an older version of AI was all that worked on the Maxx, it was buggy but better than Flexsy.
By the way, stay away from the "make it mine" it only loads up the already high overhead this app imposes on the CPU.
I attached my favorite theme.
I do not add the 5th row of numbers. The double functionality is fine.
Update, the latest version uses 44 % battery on N.
I found 8.5.7 hornet from Jan 31, 17 to be fine. It does not even show in battery usage list.
Go figure.
I am trying out 8.5.9.2 seems better, not sure yet about battery but it is not showing in the battery panel.
Note, attachment is the trial / free app. It becomes paid when you buy it.
Swype. Tried many others, keep coming back to Swype for the excellent prediction and ease of use.
SwiftKey... good looking, multiple languages, fast, excellent predictions
Must say I am quite impressed with the View 20. Have been using the Pixel 2XL for the last 13 months so was quite apprehensive about switching phones, and there are certainly things I will miss from the Pixel ie dual front fitting speakers, Now Playing and monthly updates.
I find the screen on the View 20 to be very crisp, at least to my old eyes, in fact I find it to clearer than the Pixel. The camera is very good, though I need to play with the settings to probably get the most out of it. RAM management seems very good.
Notification light is tiny, and you need to be looking at the screen head on to see it.
FPS is very quick, and has worked 100%, though I must say most of the time I don't get a chance to use it as the facial recognition is so quick.
Am using gestures for navigating, very smooth, at least with the stock Launcher, not so much when using Nova. Whilst they work, swiping up to go Home always briefly brings up the multitasking screen before doing what it should. The one annoying thing is you have to be pretty accurate when typing on keyboard at the edges as very easy to end up swiping left or right which takes you Back.
There does seem to be one bug I have found so far, and that is when switching apps, if you tap on the app that is to the side of the screen, rather than opening it, it drops you back to Home screen.
Only other thing I can think of at this moment is I can't get any notification badge on Gmail, either on stock Launcher or Nova (and all settings are correct)
If anyone has any questions or anything you want me to try, i will do my best to help.

The international version launched only 5 days ago. Did you get a hold of one and if so, can you share where from and what price so it benefits the users here. I am considering purchasing one via a friend (who is flying) from China but he is unable to find the international version there. I am wondering if Google Playstore and subsequently Nova Launcher can be installed on the Chinese version.
It was the international version, purchases in UK from carphone warehouse. 8GB/256GB. On their website at £579.99. They charged me £549.99
Also comes with a free Honor watch (via claim)

Agreed with the OP. Just got the same 128 gig unlocked, a couple of days ago. Coming from an S8 over the last 14 months. Must say the V20 is an awesome device.
Using the stock launcher with gestures. As the OP said, Nova does not seem to work as smoothly with gestures which is a shame. However the stock launcher with app drawer turned on is very good. Only annoying thing is I can't seem to get rid of the hi search which activated whenever you swipe down on any of the home screens. I never use it but can't find a way to turn it off! Any advice welcome!
Anyway the display, design, price point, battery life, are very good value for money. RAM management also very good. Very impressed and would highly recommend to others looking for a good deal.
To the OP: I've not had any issues with Gmail. Might be a software bug. Try clearing cache and resetting it maybe. Return to default settings.
Thanks mate, will try that. Can you confirm the issue with the multi tasking page. When clicking on any app that isn't centre page, it drops you back to home screen?

Stock launcher gestures are definitely better than either Nova or Action Launcher (especially related to the minimizing app/multitasking screen issue - it's a shame that you can't modify the icon settings more than 5 x 6 to make the stock launcher icons smaller. They just seem unusually large to me coming from my Pixel 2 XL. Action Launcher is a good resolution for now (minus that multitasking screen swipe up).
Does your notification LED work either when the device is plugged in or when you receive a phone call/email?
I just received my version from the UK and no LED notification light ever comes on.
Yes, notification light works, but very rarely notice it as its so small

You need to download Magic AR app from Huawei app gallery to use that dancing trick with TOF Camera.
Oh, so the multitasking issue is connected with 3rd party launchers. Good to know. I was using Nova launcher and had this issue.
The notification light is working, but it's small, not very bright and ideally you would have to look at it dead straight or from the top of the phone.
I have other issue though: can't get Netflix to play in HD. This phone's Kirin 980 is officially supported by Netflix, but I don't get HD badge next to the titles unfortunately. Other user mentioned that it works, but not for me...
has anyone managed to restore saved wifi passwords? I used the phone clone which copied all my apps/contacts/sms (did not include app data which was a bummer) but I cannot restore all my saved wifi passwords even after loading my google account, my old phone is set to back them up to google account, but this phone wont restore them. My old phone is rooted so I can see the passwords but I have hundreds and don't wan tot do it manually
hi all
for those lucky to have received their s20+ - please share what u like or dislike most about the phone
and what phone you've moved from
would be interesting to know if there are any common dislikes like camera, battery reception etc?
In my short usage so far, the camera is not a masive upgrade coming from huawei mate 20 pro....in fact it is a slight downgrade in some scenarious. Battery with 120hz cannot last me full day but i am a heavy user...everything else is absolutely superb!
Hi,
My biggest gripe is the movement of the volume buttons to right side of phone.
When trying to hit power button I seem to always hit volume down button.
Ken
On s10+ I had android 10 gestures. And I had swipe back over keyboard enabled. That worked so well. Its not here on s20+ for some reason and its driving me crazy!!!!!

Not liking:
- Same old, small and unreliable FP sensor that is used in the S10, Note 10 series even though Qualcomm announced 17x larger next gen 3D Sonic Max in 2019's end.
- Finding battetylife(Exynos) at 120Hz RR somewhat similar to Galaxy S9+(I simply didn't like the batterylife of Exynos S9+). Keeping at 60Hz resolves this issue but that's not what we would like to do at all. Improvement is expected in coming days but it doesn't seem to take a pretty big leap.
- AR zone, Bixby app, Galaxy store app -> bloatwares that can't be disabled officially and Samsung daily, Briefing bloats that can't be uninstalled officially
..etc.
Liking:
- Single or Double pressing Sidekey -> opening of bixby is not compulsory anymore as the dedicated bixby button is gone (while coming from S10+).
- Live transcribe (Android's Live caption) -> it's pretty useful.
- OneDrive cloud service to sync Gallery, which wasn't the case with S10 series . It's just that I like Onedrive more than Samsung Cloud for various reasons..
- Google Duo baked into the calling app, it's a smart move, to my eyes. [..like Facetime @ ?].
- Centered front camera module - it's way less intrusive in comparison to the top right pill shaped module of S10+.
- The curvature on the sides has reduced in a way that it doesn't bother like before, feels right.
- LinkedIn and Office mobile app bloats are gone, in S10+ we had to disable them.
etc..
im liking everything so far LOL
looking to see if i get any 5G on my vodafone but their signal is **** even for London
So for the first time I wanted to use the eraser tool to find the entire photos app just crashes. Anyone else?
Not only this but the large weather widget is still unresponsive to opening Google weather.
Getting pretty sick of the constant botches that seem to be happening with my 6pro. They barely fixed the poor cell signal issue.
No crashing with Google Photos or editing for me - use them both every day. But yes, the large weather widget is still unresponsive. No other issues for me, though. Luckily, I use Weawow for my main home screen's weather widget - so configurable with transparent widgets and all the info I need without clicking on it most of the time. I only use two other weather widgets on alternate home screens to see if there's a consensus between different weather services.

I have no Photos update available for me in the Play Store - manually checked to be sure. I'm on 5.75.0.424739917. Are you signed up for their Beta program of Google Photos? Magik Eraser is working on mine without a crash. If you are signed up in their Beta program, maybe you should leave it, although it won't "downgrade" the app version immediately.
Also, tried rebooting?

Does your Google large weather widget also fail to open Google weather? This is again another bug since a recent update.
Google have rolled out am update for Photos again and looks like it's fixed.
The broken large weather widget remains however despite an update rolled out for the Google app there.

I wonder how an obvious bug like this get's through QA. Does Google even have a QA department? I mean this is not a minor bug, it's a massive, app breaking bug that renders a central function of the phone (magic eraser is one of the prime features of the P6) inoperable. Imagine a car manufacturer making an update and forgetting to check if the doors can still be opened. lmao
