Apologies if this has been discussed before. The current setup on my note 9 has Nova + KLWP and the preset I use is called Audiofile. Basically has a vinyl turntable which I've always liked. My query is if anyone has installed Nova and KLWP in their Fold 3 (if applicable) or any device which has android 11 / 12. I've been reading a lot with some conflicting which is quite confusing. I've read that in KLWP Settings and Check Off Disable Parallel Rendering seems to work. But then I've read that some complained about KLPW not loading at all and they were saying it was because of Android 11/12/UI. Appreciate if anyone has had experienced this please. Thanks and Cheers
Just answered my own question as my wife got me the Fold. Setting it up and Nova + KLWP does work flawlessly. Turntable is spinning with no problems. Going to have fun with this phone. Cheers

I was wondering if some members wouldnt mind posting the apps and what not that yall use to customize your GN2 homescreens with. What Im looking for is to put together lets say a package of the apps one would need to give thair note 2's personality instead of hunting down various apps and programs. Thanks!

Check the theme sections and threads like "post your note 2 home screen"... Browse the screen shots sd until you find something you like... Most people will put the details of what they used, if they don't you can always ask. Unfortunately the insane variety in the android community leads to rampant fragmentation of what would otherwise be common data...
I will list a few commonly used setups/apps but you really need to browse through those threads so you learn How to do setups. Rooting your phone is not entirely necessary but you can miss out on some options.
I use
Nova launcher
Multipicture live wallpaper
Custom icon packs
Uccw
Zooper widget creator
It really is more important to learn how to use the apps... You can use nova with a few new icons and make a totally different look in a very short amount of time.

I bought the pro version over 6 months ago and I absolutely love the concept. I look at all these beautiful widgets on mycolorscreen.com, and I have downloaded many of them. The problem I always run into is the following:
1. The scaling and size take forever to perfect. Sometimes you finally get it to the right size and scale, somehow it can become all distorted after a reboot or unknown event.
2. The widgets such as those use Media utilities often appear sluggish during operation. It's no smooth or fluid like the build-in widgets from apps like poweramp. Most complicated widgets are very sluggish even on Galaxy Note 3.
The other day I downloaded https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=axt.toosimpleactuallynot.zwskin which looks amazing on the Youtube video, and I followed the instructions to the T. After the 2nd home screen, the phone just hangs. Widgets don't refresh and eventually crashes.
I'm not sure if I'm missing something other users are doing to make Zooper widget actually function smoothly not just look pretty like a static image on the home screen. I am under the impression that Zooper may be trying to do too much and sacrificing performance.
I agree ... although perhaps it's from not having done any launcher changes since my first Android phone, nor have played with UCCW or any skin mods before. That and there is stil a lack of (slow) step-by-step tutorials of "here is what I made, and here is everything I did to make it happen" instead of having to know what the settings are that those that have been doing this already know.
I'm not complaining though - it's like many things that require weeks of trolling through forum posts to understand the lingo and the tools, then you play with them, then you troll through a zillion posts again and maybe ask a few questions in the newbie sections instead of the Expert sections, then you play with it again and pretty soon you realize that "Hey! You figured it out".
I don't want to be like the guy that just bought an Android phone and knows he needs bragging rights to having rooted it with a one-step tool but doesn't have any idea what to do next or if he bricks it.
Zooper Pro is frustrating because it is very powerful and customizable, but if it was one-step easy, everyone would have cool themes, and I certainly don't want my brother have a better looking phone than me if I haven't worked at it some, lol.
Just curious, does anyone actually use those launcher apps in the Play store that theme the home screen, create the grids, lay widgets etc. Ones that come to mind are Buzz and Themer, they get reasonable reviews on Play but they rarely get mentioned on XDA.
Just wanted some opinions on them. Apologies if this is posted in the wrong forum.
I understand the obvious attraction is the ease of use for changing a homescreen in a few clicks, if like me you don't have a creative flair to make Nova look cool.
Thanks.,
Although I understand why you originally posted this to Q&A, I've moved this to Themes and Apps because the rules say, "For the posting of Themes and / or Apps as well as announcements & discussions ..."
I've personally used Themer, Buzz, and Aviate and they were too different for me personally to get used to. So, I tend to stick to Sense or Nova.
The only one-click theming app I've used was Themer for a couple of months when it was first released.
Before using Themer, I'd either use Apex or Nova and spend the time to create a customized homescreen from scratch but found I had less and less free time available to get it all set up. That's when Themer stepped in and was pretty much ideal, at the time.
As I prefer a proper customized experience though, I stopped using it after a couple of months and went back to making my own set up with Apex/Nova.
Perhaps the reason you don't see Themer mentioned as much around the forums is because it has its own app forum?
Hi to everyone, I've been told XDA-dev is the bible when it comes to Android, which is great because I bought my first Android phone (Note 8 Pro) just a week ago today, so I'm a complete freshy to the ways of The Android, I'm learning fast(ish) but still please explain like I'm 5yo so I understand.
I've set up most of what I want but one thing is frustrating me, I would like a weather widget on my lock screen. I know I can do this easily with themes but I've tried dozens of them and they all add a widget using the stock Android weather app which is no good for me, the closest location the stock weather app can find to my home is a 1-hour drive away and it's a city, I'm in a village surrounded by large hills/small mountains. Yesterday evening as an example, it was -7c and snowing here but the stock weather app showed 5c and clear, haha. So, it needs to be a widget that uses another weather app as the source, like 1weather or something similar. I've been searching online, the play store, and asking on different forums but with no luck.
Is this possible at all without rooting? I'm on Miui 11.0.6.0.
