Another thread about tethering...
I'm curious if anyone does it as much as I do...
Anyway here's my problem. It seems as if when I use Internet Sharing...any phone calls I get, I would miss without notification. And when I get the call, it doesn't go straight to voicemail...it will ring a few times and then voicemail will popup.
I know the nature of GPRS and Phone calls not working together at the same time...but is there a way for me to be notified of a phone call during Internet Sharing? Even if it means I would get disconnected...I'd rather not miss my phone calls.
right now i use it alot at home. what i do is set my phone to forward calls to home phone while i'm using internet sharing. But for some reason i cant use the first option under call forwarding. the other remaining options i set to a phone number and the time span to 5 seconds.
Ahh call forwarding...good idea...but is that my only option available right now?
So I've integrated my Sprint Number with Google Voice - Cool. I like it. Mostly it's awesome to be able to sit at my computer and text\call people from a number they actually recognize. And being a flash addict, and yet someone who also wants to keep ALL my texts, it is quite useful.
Anyways when I first integrated, every incoming text would give me two notifications, one from Voice and one from default SMS app. I did something - changed a setting - I'm not sure, probably on the desktop side of things, but now I'm only receiving texts in Voice. They aren't showing up at all in my SMS app. Can someone help a noob out? I appreciate it!
I haven't used the integration, but what if you try to re-set it up and disable the text feature?

Sigh One day I'll learn to think outside the box! I have to wait 15 minutes after disabling to enable, but I'll let you know if it worked. It may not, because the settings may be stored server side and kept regardless of disabling, but I will soon see. Thanks.
So, messages are now showing up in SMS app again, so thats good, but I'm getting the double notifications again. Does anyone know how to disable text notifications for Voice? Also, I told voice that I wanted to route all calls through it - I've changed my mind haha. How do I change that setting?

Well for google voice, I don't know how to, since I don't use the text feature, but in chomp, you can simply go to the notification settings and disable them, and you'll only see them on chomp.

to disable text notifications, you will also have to disable voicemail notifications. just enable text/email notification for voicemail
I think it had something to do with Spring and google because same thing happened with me i still get picture mail on stock messenger and i can still send out once but none come in Sprint is maing out on that deal they are not getting any text data on are accounts

Ahhh. Well thats not clear in the least bit. If the notification feature is tied to both voicemail and text they should label it as such. But still thats an annoyingly stupid limitation. Surely they understand why someone, and I would guess most people, would like a voicemail notification, but not two sms notifications. /rant
Anyways, thanks for the help! Also for my other little problem about setting up all calls through gVoice, I just happened to stumble on a widget that switched that... still don't know where the setting to change it is though.
Voice took over everything and i didnt like it. I didnt even want voice to do it, but somehow it did. The only way i could figure out how to get back the option of what number to dial out from (google or cell) was to find older version of voice and install.
Using Free Sonic's FreeGS3 Rom v2.0.0 with stock kernel and LJ7 Radio, whenever on roaming I cannot receive any calls. The phone simply ignores it entirely. The only notification I receive is the voicemail notifications I get. I can, however place calls. I confirmed this using my landline.
Blocking Mode is off.
Mobile Networks is set to CDMA/LTE/EVDO, but this is a voice issue.
Roaming Network is set to auto, voice and data domestic roaming are enabled, as well as international just in case that was causing it. All roam guards are off, in case they were somehow defaulting to reject.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Non-roaming incoming/outgoing calls work.
Roaming outgoing calls work, incoming does not.
it looks like the No Internet Calling Account issue is back on the M8. I am able to place calls if I dial the number fine via Wi-Fi calling, however when attempting to place a call from a contact card it gives the "There are no Internet Calling Accounts" error.
Incoming calls go straight to VM, SMS and MMS work.
Changing the settings from "Wi-Fi Preferred" to "Cell Network Preferred" result in me dropping WiFi Calling and it not coming back, I don't have strong enough signal to use my phone on Cell Network
Any suggestions or ideas how to make this work?
This appears to only be affecting my contacts, I can place calls from contacts in Touchdown and numbers that I dialed without an issue. Also is happening when I have wifi calling disabled for contacts, I am able to receive calls now though
Any solution to this? I am having the same problem
I have a problem with both AT&T as well as Verizon. Incoming texts eventually will stop coming in for the line that is not being used for data. When I switch the data sim, they will eventually start coming in, then the other sim will not receive texts.
Anyone else having this problem?
RCS texts enabled? Check the messages settings.

No such setting I could find, but I do have chat features enabled. On my Verizon account RCS is enabled for a Pixel that we have on the same account.
So far the texts are working on both lines of service, I am pretty sure my problem was caused by the Magisk Module "Universal GMS Doze." Disabled it, and does not seem to have any battery saving on this phone, on my Pixel it did save battery.
