Has anyone else seen this issue? I've looked around and haven't seen anything about it. Whenever I physically close my phone it restarts. OS is updated and I haven't added any apps in a while. Even ran the McAfee scan and found nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Founds rather like a hardware issue - Like a loose connection or something causing a short circuit - than anything software related to me.

Hey guys, so lately I've been having this really annoying problem where my Evo won't stop rebooting at random times. It usually happens when:
I'm using an app with data or a game
Right after a reboot I unlock my phone and wait 3 seconds and it reboots again
I noticed that the phone does get hot, but i only left it in my car once so this isn't always the case, although this has started recently maybe it is the heat who knows?
Some of the causes i've eliminated are the rom (thought it was just CM7 but it also happens on Fresh), the kernel (tried stock and savaged zen), and the battery (my primary is an EXTENDED BATTERY I BOUGHT ON AMAZON, thought that this was the problem but the reboots happen on the stock battery as well).
I guess this can come only come down to the hardware, which i guess makes sense because I don't think data transfer through usb is working for me anymore either, or it works sporadically. The phone charges fine on the wall, but when i put it into my laptop every usb port caused my Evo to keep unmounting the sd card. <--- I think the usb port is broken or loose because moving the cable seems to get my Evo to transfer data to my laptop for a short while.
If anyone can help me or have the same problems and have a solution that'd be great because I;m really close to unrooting and going to a sprint store if this keeps up
I wrote a response to someone else who had this question. I should have copied it so I can repost it for people.
What I know is this. I have had 3 different evos and they have all done this. It might be a battery problem, but more likely it has to do with low memory/ram.
If I play a game, watch youtube videos, surf the web, or just about anything somewhat intensive, my phone reboots.
I have tried many times, and things, to figure out what has caused this and the only consistent is that I am low on ram.
I use the application Tasker, and it notifies me when I'm getting low on "memory" it then tells me to go to Menu - Settings - Applications - Running Services. from there you can see what is eating up your ram and quit it, or delete it. I have deleted some of the programs and my phone still reboots, but not as often.
If you have widgets running that seems to add to the problem.
The phone reboots to gain back the system ram it needs to work properly.
If I'm wrong, will someone PLEASE correct me and tell what is actually going on.
This is what I have found. Someone else may have a different idea of what may be going on, but this makes more sense than anything else I've heard or read.

Hello, I have been experiencing an intermittent issue, that is become very frustrating when trying to do anything with the phone; text messaging is unusable at this time.
This issue has happened on the original version of android, and current version which is the KANG Milestone 2. I also have Franco Kernel. This is a GSM model running on USA AT&T. It has happened everywhere. At home, work, etc. It doesn't matter if I am close to another electronic device, if I am holding the phone, etc. Sometimes I can go days without having this issue, but it seems like lately it has increased.
I uploaded a youtube video, but cannot post the link, if someone can post it for me. here is the information after the website address watch?v=HbCs9_JUQFE
Basically it will keep inputting buttons or key presses, or switch my homescreen, etc. If it were a hardware issue wouldn't it happen all the time?
Anyone with advice or have had that issue? If you need anymore information I can try to get it to you if the phone will work with me.
Thanks!
I may be wrong, but it looks like there's something wrong with the digitizer. A wire maybe coming loose or you could have more problems than that. I'd go get it swapped out if I were you. Could be a simple fix, could not. Why risk opening your phone when its still in warranty?
i got an issue with random inputs on my galaxy nexus too.
i activated the setting to show touch-inputs in developer-options and recorded a small video
as you can see i happens along the right side of the screen and you pretty much can´t do anything while this is happening (when you´re in an app, the screen will just scroll around like crazy and do random stuff.
edit: new users can´t post working links...

Looks like a hardware defect, that one you'll want to send back.
First off, I purchased my Nexus 7 on the 26th from my local Gamestop. 32GB WiFi. Since then, I've had a number of issues with the device, and I just want to know what you guys think on what I should do.
First, I'm one of the users affected by the erratic multi-touch issues on the touch screen, (meaning that the screen will hit stuff by itself without my input). It's only happened to me once, so shrugged it off because i figured its more of a bug, if anything. As I've looked on this forum and found that multiple users are actually affected by this issue, so part of me thinks it may be a hardware issue, but on the other hand, it could be a software thing.
My second issue happened just a couple hours ago. I clicked on the screen to see that my wallpaper was reverted back to stock and was then bombarded with continuous force close after force close (we are talking every 2 seconds on the dot, literally). I clicked The Play Store and it logged me out as well. So I signed in and then cleared data and force closed all of the Google Services and framework and stuff. The force closes seemed to stop, and everything seems to be okay as of right now.
I'm thinking of returning it and getting a replacement, but something tells me that this may be software issue instead of a hardware issue, I'm not really sure to be completely honest.
So I ask you guys if you've ever experienced any of the problems mentioned above or something similar. I'd like to wait it out, but as said before, a return may be the best thing to do. Any opinions are welcome.
Here's an odd one. Maybe my search terms are iffy, but I can't find anyone else with this issue.
When I uninstall the app on my phone for a watch face, Android will often (almost always) crash when that app/face gets uninstalled from the watch.
I say "Android" because the watch itself doesn't crash and reboot, but Android restarts (ie back to the boot-animation but not back to the bootloader).
I'll try and reproduce this with adb connected and see if I can glean some logs... that'll likely clear it up for me, but I'll post my findings here in case someone else has the same problem.
I've noticed similar behaviour also, but only if im currently using that watch face and then uninstall it from the phone. If i switch to another one beforehand, nothing happens.
It also seems to happen with other apps, though I can't see a similar pattern there, it happens whether or not I'm using it, and often not at all.
Hi everyone, I hope someone here can help me.
I'm experiencing a bug on my phone that's bothering in several situations.
Apps in landscape mode switch to portrait and come back to landscape (or not):

Voice notes in WhatsApp get interrupted:

(you'll see that the navigation bar briefly goes white)
I've factory-wiped my phone, gradually reinstalled the apps and double-checked that there are no weird or potentially dangerous apps.
The tricky part here is that I can't find a pattern, as it randomly happens (for instance, my keyboard went down when writing this actual post).
Has anyone else experienced this problem with their phone? Any idea on what I can do? It's really hurting my experience with Samsung.
Thanks!
You might try another Android version.
Clear system cache on the boot menu.
You can try a hard reboot as well.
Test the sensor(s) that controls that (it could be an intermittent failure, the worst kind to diagnose).
Does manually locking it to landscape mode stop it?
If it's a brand new phone, get it replaced as this is not a normally seen glitch.
Reloads generally don't cure settings or hardware issues and useless it's an old load or has a worm, trojan, etc are generally a waste of time.
As invariably the original issue just gets triggered again... eventually.
