This one even using the config file for it results in blurry images for me. The camera crashes in night mode. Quality in less-than-sunglight-lighting is abysmal.
So what you guys use?
It's been a long time since I've looked at this, but I see there is a OnePlus Camera apk.

Have tried using the OnePlus camera on a ROM?
I'm going to give this a go, and I'll report back how this worked out...

If you try to install Arnova's version, it will fail due to conflicts with the original GCam. This is just a cloned app that can be installed on Pixel/Pixel XL.
All credit goes to @Arnova8G2. All bugs/functionality from that app are also present here.
Link to the original thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77855579&postcount=2426
Arnova's version has some of the pixel 3 functionality enabled for other phones (like portrait mode and focal length changing after taking a portrait mode photo). If you install the non moded version, you don't get portrait mode or h256 encoding for videos (and more).
None of the v6 based moded gcam apps currently available work on Pixel due to their manifest being the same as the original "play store" version of gcam which comes preinstalled on pixels.
This forces an update of the original app, update which fails as it recognizes that the moded version is not really a qualified upper version of the original one
Cannot work on my Pixel XL running Stock pie
Thanks for doing this!
Even though I can install it, it says the following:
"Clones are device-locked
This helps to prevent abuse and redistribution of cloned apps.
Please use App Cloner to recreate the clone on this target device Clones created with commercial use business license may still be installed on different target devices."
And closes after accepting the dialog
Getting the same error when installing "Clones are device-locked
This helps to prevent abuse and redistribution of cloned apps.
Please use App Cloner to recreate the clone on this target device Clones created with commercial use business license may still be installed on different target devices."
I used App Cloner to clone the app myself and it worked!
However the app heated my phone quite a bit, and the picture viewer was quite janky.
Hope they improve the port with the next version!
I'm on Pixel XL btw

I follow your guide, it works great. But the quality is very low compared to the original camera.
I'm using several different versions of GCam6 but all have something that doesn't work...
I'm using a version that @cstark27 posted here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77870655&postcount=2586
He says it's version that doesn't contain all the mods made for Oneplus 6. Almost everything works on this version. Portrait back camera doen't work (only front camera), tried night mode didn't see any difference (even the shutter and iso of pictures where the same with or without night mode). Full zoom works and camera is a bit jerky because it has continues auto focus (when you tap an object) activated.
I'm also using the latest versions of @Arnova8G2. This one compared with the @cstark27 version, portrait works fine with back camera but slow motion crashed the app.
I just hope that some dev could make a Camera mod like the one from NX Camera. A port directed to all Pixels with all the good stuff from Pixel 3.

Is anyone else getting a warm/yellow tint on portrait mode?
Also, I can't night light mode, is it on developer settings?
Many thkx for the new version of Gcam6 @cstark27 !!!
Night mode was added and works pretty fine on my pixel!!!
Are u going to add Selfie Mode and Motion Photos to it in the future?? Hope so...
Do you have a specific thread for this apk modification?

Portait mode will take a picture but but not a Portrait picture.
If you want to try the latest version of GCam 7.0.009, you can download below. Requires atleast android version 9.0
Not stable requires some tweaking.
https://bit.ly/2INLPvf
Seems to be working fine. What tweaking is required? Thanks!
I was not able to set up in my smartphone
The app opens on my G6 running PixelExperience. I can even open the settings without crashing, the apps I was using before crashed doing that. Changing cameras to selfie works, but after you press it again it wants to open wide lens, the app immediately crashes.
Hello nice link. But the picture is very noisy compared to the cstark27 version (maybe the iso is too high and the exposure is very very short)
Is their an older version for LG G6 users stuck on Android 8 (Oreo)?
Sent from my LGUS997 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Cool, I am using it daily and it is way better then stock LG Camera.

I just download this version of uryx Gcam which is the last one:
https: //f.celsoazevedo.com /file/cfiles/gcm1/GCam_7.2.010_Urnyx05-v2.3. apk
and its working great so far but remember that u need to go to the app settings and enable the wide angle camera (do NOT turn on the telephoto or your gcam will enter in a crashing loop, just the wide angle) and enable the astrophotography too, if u want
PD: im new on the forum so i cant post links, just delete the blank spaces of the link and thats it

Hi. I have a question about the camera, in the front camera, do you also get blurry photographs? I have tried many versions, and with almost all of them I had that problem. I currently use Hypercam_R6, and it works well with both cameras.

Yes I have the same issue
I dont recommend 7 version on G6, try Arnova's 6.1, 6.2 or cstark version on his XDA post, in every version front camera sucks, u look weird, green, saturated, ugly, etc, but by now this is my top 3
Is there any version that supports both Timelapse and SloMo?
How to turn on wide camera?
Pixel Experience
This gcam is buggy
How about you stop spamming this **** 4+ times on the same forum section?
I tried these Gcam 7 versions on my LG G6 with Havoc OS 3.3:
> HYPER-NEXCam_7.2.10_V1.0_NEW_LIBS.apk
> GCam_7.2.010_Urnyx05-v2.3.apk
So far these versions work quite well beside the front camera. The front camera is blurry even when the preview is sharp. Any fix for this?
Use other gcam

Hello i use 2 gcam app.. .
1 ) PixelCam_7.3_V1.7.1.apk (by jairo_rossi) for night sight / astrophotograpy and portrait mode with back camera. Main and wide angle spectacular results.
2) cstark27_MGC_5.1.018.177470874.41362666_LOS-15.apk (by cstark27) for portait mode with front camera' spectacular results
From LG G6 H870AR (Argentina Version) with Android 9 (European ROM)
Nexus 5X, 4/32
Running pixel experience with android 10. Haven't had any issues since upgrading to 4GB ram runs just like it use to back when I first got it.
By the way, facing problems at camera section. I was using Camera NX (super smoothly) for pixel experience with android 9 but it does not work with android 10.
Does anybody has the stable Gcam for pixel experience with android 10?? If yes, it will be highly appreciable if you share the download link.
+1 to this. We need sone sort of minimal or stable gcam for our sluggish device :crying:
I have the same issue. The only camera app that work nice and fast is the camera go (see my post here)
I think there's an issue with the camera library that comes with PE10. Every time I take an HDR+ picture, it crashes the camera app (I've tried several).
Best way forward is to debug the issue.

Since the OP5T is no longer supported, I started looking at ROMs.
I've never cared to use ROMs, because none of them in the past, ever had a camera app that could equal the OnePlus camera on this phone.
But, have times changed, and now there are some camera apps just as good?
At the moment I'm using e/ and it uses the Open Camera, I don't find this to be a good replacement at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, to figure out what's the best camera app for this phone.
It's always been my understanding Arnova8G2 is the best.
So I've been thinking to use 'Gcam-8.1.101.build-V6.2.211013.2305_Snap', any thoughts on this version?'

I thought I had to download the apk; Gcam-8.1.101.build-V6.2.211013
Does anyone also know if this OnePlus 5/5T Front Camera Fix is still relevant to use in any of the Developer's GCam apps? When I tried it with Nikita's GCam the phone Settings would no longer open and crash... hmm :/
