A few months ago I moved my Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.4 (SM-T320) from the aging Kit Kat-based stock ROM to the Marshmallow-based CyanogenMod 13 Nightlies and it has been working pretty well.
However, I have been wanting to move to eventually move out to Nougat. While many devices have started to receive official CyanogenMod 14.1 Android 7.1 Nougat-based Nightlies, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.4 (SM-T320) has yet to receive them. Is there any work being done to eventually support this device, or is it a lost cause and all I can hope for are unofficial builds here on XDA?
Assuming that official nightlies aren't coming, are there any trustworthy and relatively bug-free 7.1 based ROMs that you could recommend?
Thanks in advance
I think it is available only here,CM has stopped making 7.1 for now...and will resume as a new company later on. There is the Unofficial nightly 7.1 or the Resurrection Remix, which are the top ones.
Bug-free?? Bro, there is no program in the world that is properly bug free, especially such a big fan based ones.
Hi guys, i have just buy a used sm-p605 note 10.1 edition 2014 and in the next day I'm going to do the battery replacement.
Also I was looking for update the Android version but this Is my question:
In all this years was create a stable rom with a s-pen functions? Or something likes the air gesture?
In any case (for how try both rom) Is better linagenOS 14.1 or 17.1 (or the original stok rom or other)?
Thank.

Isn't written here, that s-pen is working?
[ROM][SM-P605][10.0] Unofficial LineageOS 17.1 for lt03lte (20.03.2021) [BETA]
This is only for SM-P605 (lt03lte)! Even loading an custom recovery will irreversible trigger Knox to 0x1! LineageOS (former CyanogenMod) is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 10 (Ten) , which is designed to...

Well, I wasn't precise enough.
1. I cited what I saw once written by a dev, but I can't remember where it was said.
2. S-pen is working in basic functions like marking/drawing/writing.
I wrote that I stick to 14.1 on P605 so I can't say if on 17.1 there are more functions. Gotta test yourself.
On ALL my four s-pen devices no custom ROM (made by different devs) offers more than the a. m. functions.
Hi,
I'm a seasoned Linux user, but I'm relatively new to the world of free operating systems on smartphones. A couple weeks ago I bought an old Samsung Galaxy A5 (SM-A500FU) just for fiddling with LineageOS.
I spent about a week experimenting a lot and taking notes about ADB, Heimdall, TWRP, flashing ZIP files, etc. I found out that unfortunately LineageOS isn't officially supported for this phone. On the other hand, I managed to install a custom (unsupported) version of LineageOS on this phone:
lineage-16_a5_releases/README.md at master ยท DeadSquirrel01/lineage-16_a5_releases
lineageos 16 releases for Galaxy A5 SM-A500FU. Contribute to DeadSquirrel01/lineage-16_a5_releases development by creating an account on GitHub.
github.com
So much for a successful first experience.
Here's a very general question. Since there is no official LineageOS ROM available for my phone (as far as I understand the platform is a5lte), can I build a recent version of LineageOS from source for my specific device? Is this a more or less trivial task (like building LineageOS from source for an officially supported device) or will I have to jump through a series of burning loops?
Cheers from Austria,
Niki
Hello!
I ve got the MI 10T Pro.
I was wondering, there is a shortcut for opening the camera app on the lockscreen (doubble tap volume down).
Can I remap this to any app I want, because it doens't seem to be possible. I can't find the option to do this.
I'm on stock without root.
If it is not possible, is a rom out there wich can do it?
Greetings
try googling for some apps which you can use. i dont use miui much, but in lineage os (stock), you have to go to the "gestures" settings page, there you can configure actions for button presses.

I've tried to google unfortunately there is no app for this (at least i can't find one).
I want to use lineage os so bad and was already thinking about it, but my banking app won't work with it and i need it daylie. :/
all you need is a rom which supports safetynet, that will allow you to install your banking app.
fortunately, you can get safety net for lineage os.
First of all, install lineage os and gapps to your device, here's the link to lineage (android11):

then, you need to follow the steps from this post: (its a different post, the name is the same because its in the same thread)

First of all, thank you so much!
How about the safety of my datas? I really don't want my bankaccount to be stolen. I know a custom rom has a risk. Do u know how big it is?
custom roms which are open source, such as lineage os, should be safe. if its an official build (as it is in this case), it should definitely be safe. In most cases, these custom roms are regarded to be safer than miui, due to suspicions of the chinese goverment collecting your data, but i dont really believe in any of that.
Does anyone know where I can find LineageOS for MicroG 15.1 for the Pixel C Dragon. Was on Lineageos for MicroG site a few weeks ago. Now it seems to have been removed from download site. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Have you tried lineage 20?
