[A5 2017] LDAC Bluetooth with unsupported headphones?? - Samsung Galaxy A3, A5, A7 (2017) Questions & Answe

My A5 (2017) is running on magisk rooted stock android 8.
I've been messing around trying to get better audio from this phone, and have found a method to... at very least make it look like I'm using LDAC.. at best actually use it.
I'm unsure if I truly am using LDAC, or if there is any difference to the audio quality at all.
(im the master of the placebo effect )
I use SetEdit w/ Feature Pack to keep a few Global settings set to 1 (true) . After a certain event involving the headphone, or a random amount of time (idk) the "_supports_ldac" settings I've changed go back to 0 (false). SetEdit keeps my changes persistent.

Sidenote, this little tweak FEELS like it has an effect on the audio.
& I can do something similar with my A51 (non-rooted, One UI 4.1) & the UHQ upscaling/bit ajustment built into the settings that is usually grey-ed out.. and dedicated for wired devices?
also works with different audio devices.. like my Skull Candy Uproar, and cheap BlueHive earbuds (035-7309-4)
Now thats all fine and dandy.. but......
but I cannot set the "Bluetooth Audio Codec" in dev settings to LDAC, when clicked it returns back to SBC. my only supported codec
same goes for sample rate, bit rate and sort of the LDAC Playback Quality. My A51 behaves the same.
I can change the playback quality from Best Effort, and it sticks.
But if I click the option, the selector is back to Best Effort... AND MY SELECTION of Optimized for Audio Quality still sticks. weird.
--------------------------------------------------------
Here is screenshots of the A51.
If I launch the android shortcut "com.sec.android.app.soundalive.activity.UHQUpscalerActivity" the page below opens, and I can freely change the settings and they stick as long as SetEdit is doing its thing.
I can't figure out how to access this page without launching the activity...
-----------------------------------------
To sum it all up, I have some nooby questions.
Am I actually getting LDAC & UHQ upscaling with unsupported devices?
Is there a way to test the truth of what I'm seeing and "hearing"?
Is this weirdly specific "hack" and my curiosity confusing enough? or am I insane?

[Mini tutorial] Beats audio in Poweramp

First of all, this isn't a system mod!
I have found the suitable EQ settings - which resemble the 'Beats' sound in Poweramp - on another forum and I'm going to post them here:

The finder of this has used an older version of Poweramp but you could enter these settings into the newest one. The author has also enabled Dolby surround in his Desire HD. So we can't fully imitate the Beats audio since our Wildfire S doesn't support Dolby, but this is the closest we have come so far. I have tested about 10 different songs with my HTC connected to my Kenwood stereo and I have to say the original 'Beats' sound is still a tiny bit deeper and more direct (Stock player vs. Poweramp; I have flashed the latest patch provided by einstein.frat). Nevertheless you must really listen for a difference to notice one.
One last thing: disable the 'Limit' option in Poweramp's EQ and set the 'Bass' and 'Treble' knobs as shown. Actually you could play with them a little bit, but don't exceed the 1/2 mark (the position of the knob's mark pointing upwards). You could leave the 'Tone' setting on, it doesn't really matter.
Enjoy!
Thanks for sharing.
There is a Stereo X for Poweramp ver 2.0.5.
So, what's the setting for this?
Thanks. Cool EQ.
can we use this in dsp eqalizer ?

OMG. What a question. Just try it. It is only EQ setting.
Thanks for sharing. This EQ settings works good for me with Beats headphones
o waw @[email protected]
man,, first of all,, you should consider not everybody has the same earphone/headphone/headset or whatever speaker like you have,, since it will make a really huge difference.
You can ask for this setting to be sent to some other server eg google drive, or for where to download it from?

Volume sync - Device-Bluetooth headphones

So on the G7 as with other recent LG phones I have used (G6 and V30) there is no syncing of the media volume between the device and Bluetooth headphones i.e. you have to set the volume independently on the device and headphones which means on headphones that have no companion app (e.g. Beats Studio 3) you have no way of viewing the volume of the headphones as the media volume shown is just for the device. It is the same story on the Sony WH1000x (but the companion app at least lets me see the volume) but curiously the WI1000x do sometimes link the volumes ok which is strange?
This obviously works on an iPhone and also seems to work just fine on other android phones I have tried recently including the pixel 2xl, Samsung S9+ and OnePlus 6.
Is this just another quirk of LG’s awful software or is there a way around it? It may sound quite minor but as someone who uses his phone for music every day it is really annoying and it making me consider taking the hit and selling it on for a S9+ or 2XL?
Thanks
I would like to have a solution to this as well, it's annoying that Mt by headphones don't sync up the volume with my phone like my s8 did.
I wonder if the fact that the wi1000x work sometimes coupled with there not being a separate Bluetooth volume display means that it is supposed to work but is a long standing bug? It was the same on the G6 and V30. Was hoping it had been fixed with Oreo.
I just had a check at my local HiFi shop.
I tested several headphones on BT to my brand new LG V30.
Only one headset had synchronized volume: Sony WH-1000Xm2
None of the following headphones had sync: my own Sennheiser PXC 550 and the shop's B&O H9i, B&W PX
Strangely, the headset's battery status is shown on my LG status bar so there is a communication, but it seems LG in some way has skipped the volume sync possibility.

I come from Moto Z Play (Oreo, Android 8) and on that device the sync worked without any issues.

General Verizon 6 pro and Android 12

First off, I Love the phone. Hardware is great, Android 12 is mostly great but there are some weird things I've noticed that haven't really been an issue on previous phones pre-Android 12. I got rid of a OnePlus 8 pro for the Pixel 6 pro.
1: I have to use a Bluetooth to 3.5mm adapter (Bluetooth to auxillary input) on my car to Bluetooth to my stereo. Issue is, the adapter is ALWAYS on and when in range my phone is ALWAYS connected to that adapter. Android 12 gives you the option to quickly switch when you're playing music or watching a YouTube video in the volume slider menu but not say when you're playing a Facebook video, Instagram video or similar. The workaround has been to just completely disconnect Bluetooth which interferes with other devices like my Fitbit and such.

2: AOD doesn't come on when it's dark out. I usually get up at around 4am, and of course it's dark in my room. When it's pretty dark, not even pitch black AOD doesn't turn on. It's almost like the phone lacks a proximity sensor and relies souly on a light sensor for AOD. Another scenario was I was out with my family trick or treating tonight, in the suburbs where there was plenty of light and AOD still didn't come on when I pulled out the phone to check the time. Of course this isn't a huge issue, just an inconvenience
3: the lack of ability to set your own lock screen shortcuts. I don't use Google pay, nor do I control devices using the Google home app or shortcut.. it would be nice to set those to whatever I want. To add into that, I do have those both disabled but occasionally the Google home shortcut appears when I click the power button to turn the phone on. If I click it of and back on about 80% of the time it disappears.
I don't want anyone to take these as complaining, just thought maybe I'd chime in on some "issues" I've noticed.

Question [SM-S901U] How can i change the bluetooth bit & sample rates and turn on HD audio in the dev options?

It wont let me change these settings, regardless of if im connected to a bluetooth device or not. Do i need to have other settings enabled/disabled before i can change the audio settings under the developer options menu?
I have the U.S model with the Qualcomm snapdragon chipset, running android 12 and One UI 4.1, in case that's worth noting.
Im not sure if these will be of any use but just for reference heres 2 screenshots of the menus im unable to interact with.
All other bluetooth settings between "HD audio" and "Bluetooth Audio Codec LDAC:"
I'm unable to change, even though i can open the menus and none of the options appear to be grayed-out.
Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere. Im fairly new here and android 12 as well (most recent android version ive used in recent years is android 8.0 oreo). still learning my way around.
thanks in advance for any help, answers, etc.

tldr: I’m no help, but I can confirm some parts.
I’ve got a pair of Sony WF-1000XM3. As long as the headphones are connected, I can turn on and off the HD audio setting and switch between SBC and AAC (they don’t support better standards).
My old Bluetooth speaker and a Jabra Evolve 65 don't activate this settings, so it depends on the Bluetooth version and supported audio formats?

Yes I can confirm that, same here.
It's as simple as connecting a headset capable of this codecs/options.
I think generally the best option would be selected automatically.

You can only initiate the changes for HD codecs when the bluetooth device is connected. Example, With Sony linkbuds S, I can select LDAC Or AptX. Once configured, the codec activates every time you connect the BT device.

Question Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G NE Flashlight intensity

Hi community!
I'm not really satisfyed with the flashlight intensity and the tourch function of the device. Compared to my old Mi 9 Lite the difference is tremendoes!
I tried to access the test menues via *#*#6484#*#* , went to the "Notification (LED) section and saw that there ist a slide control for the flash. It is set to 1/3 of the possible intensity. Setting it to max. reveals the whole potential of the flashlight and explains the bad lowlight picture quality while using the camera and also the mediocre torch function. Unfortunately ,as this is only a test there is no way to save the settings. Does any of you has an idea where the phone parameters can be modified? Path to the file?
I bought the phone because of the cam, among other things, but due to the above fact it turns to be worse than that of the 3 y.o. Mi 9 Lite!
I have a suspition that the reviewers used a different version of the device, since I cannot explain such high ranking for the camera.
I'd appreciate your help

how to get this seting permanently?
The path is:
/sys/class/leds/led:torch_0/brightness
Default value is 75.
You can do "echo 200 > /sys/class/leds/led:torch_0/brightness" but only when the flashlight is turned on.
When you turn it on again it will be 75.
Figured out a script that do:
watch -n3 "echo 160 > /sys/class/leds/led:torch_0/brightness"
But it's a nasty hack.
Don't have a clue how to do it better
How do you access the path?
Is root needed for this action?
So, for my understanding you were able to modify the flashlight parameters, but there's no way to save them?
Like I tried to modify the intensity as shown in the above screenshots - the setting are always back to the default ones
The default settings aren't good enough to shoot good pics under the low light conditions.
I wonder why did Xiaomi do that?
Yes, root is needed.
I just played with torch parameters. They reset to default 75 every turning on the flashlight. When the flashlight is on, it accepts new values, making the LED brighter. So i made a script that overwrites the brightnes every 3sek. It's the best I could think of
I'll try to modify the photo flash soon, but I don't think it will work. The flash is to short to have time to modify file.
