Hi, I used the "Automate" application on my other phone, but unfortunately most of its GSM, wifi and localization functions stopped working on android 12 on my samsung Bixby Routines is terribly poor. Is there anything to automate android and control deep functions that works fine on a rooted Galaxy Note running on Android 12? Maybe Tasker? Somebody knows ?
Roger
I've not used either of these on a rooted device, but Tasker and PhoneProfilesPlus by Henrich Gron have both been useful for me. I only use PPP now, and that's to manage my volume as I enter work, etc.

Hi,
I'm very new to takser and I'm trying to figure out a simple task.
For example I want to activate WIFI when a specific application(lets say "calculator" as an example) is running and I want WIFI to stay on as long as the the calculator is active.
I understand that tasker only would do such kind of action as long as the application is in the foreground. But I want to keep WIFI on, also if calculator is active in the background.
So, I've found a plugin : locale app condition. This is compatible with tasker but I can't make it work.
Can anyone help me, how I have to use this plugin.
Cheers,
bamthwok
Late response, I know. But do you still need help with this? If you haven't already figured it out, if you have tasker you don't need the locale plugin to accomplish what you're after - that plugin is specifically for location based tasker profiles.
i.e. turn on wifi when you're at home, turn it off when you're x distance from home.
To accomplish what you're trying to do in tasker, just create a new profile with the condition "application-> calculator" and the task /action "network-> wifi state -> on" and you're done. Have an exit task that turns off wifi in the same way and you're all set.
For bonus points have an additional "if" condition that makes sure this profile doesn't fire if wifi is already active as it's safe to assume that you want wifi on regardless of what the calculator is doing.
p.s.
My phone isn't presently within arms reach so if I've gotten the exact names/locations of the functions you want in tasker wrong, then use some initiative and you'll be all set.
Hi all,
I am currently looking in the NFC functionality recently added in Android. I am not yet familiar with Android development and I would like to have your advises on what I am planning to do.
My goal would be the following: Performing an automatic bluetooth pairing between a Nexus S and a linux computer by means of NFC. To the linux machine is connected a NFC breakout board (from microbuilder). Once the bluetooth pairing is done, I would like to launch automatically an application on the mobile phone, which will then be used to interact between the mobile phone and the linux computer.
I have read in several websites that this should be possible, but I would like to know is someone already tried something like that, or if an experienced Android developer think that this would be possible to do.
Thank you in advance !
Kind regards,
Guillaume
Hi guys
a little question:
can I start GPS automatically via Profile or Tasker without rooting in Android 10 / OxygenOS10?
I use Android Auto every day and use Tasker to switch GPS, Bluetooth and volume. Does that work in Android 10 without root?
Hello,
Previously I made with my Samsung S7 contact through AAwireless with android auto and that has always worked perfectly. I mainly used Waze for navigation.
Now I have a Samsung S20 but Waze doesn't work well on it. After a few minutes, Waze freezes and is no longer usable. I have connected the mobile with the cable and then it aldo does not work correct. So it's not AAWireless.
I have adjusted the battery settings as far as I can find but the problem remains. And if I install other navigation systems (TomTom/Sygic or Google maps), then I don't have the problem. So it's really in the Samsung S20 and Waze.
Does anyone have an idea what this could be?
