I have a Pixel 6 Pro and Widex Moment 440 Hearing Aids. My aids are paired to my phone without issue, and I can successfully interact with them through the Widex app to switch programs, etc. But streaming of any audio (phone calls, music, audiobooks, podcasts) is so very poor that they're entirely unusable as streaming devices. Both aids cut in and out for the first 30-60 seconds of streaming, and then both aids cut out all together.
Widex is aware of the issue, but is opting not to make efforts to address it because they believe the issue lies with the Pixel 6/6 Pro, so much so that they formally delisted the Pixel 6/6 Pro, and recommend that I switch to an iPhone. I'm a Google gal through and through, with a home/life full of Google devices/products, so I don't want to switch to an iPhone, but I really would like to be able to stream to my aids.
Does anyone have any thoughts on how I might address this issue?
Try disabling all global power management ie adaptive battery, put unused apps to sleep.
Network reset.
Developer options>bluetooth settings, look through those (this image is a Samsung)

I disabled adaptive battery, and I'll slowly work my way through the developer options, with a bit of testing after each step.
With "put unused apps to sleep", are you referring to the function of adaptive battery, or something else?
What are you referring to with "Network reset"?
Not sure how settings are laid out on a Pixel.
To check if global power management is disabled; Developer options>standby apps, all buckets should show as active. However global power management can't be disabled here.
The network reset is somewhere in settings under connectivity.
I confirmed via standby apps that all bucks show as active.
Are you suggesting that I should do a network reset? If so, will it remove all of my wifi and bluetooth connections?

Yes and yes it will reset all to default, which is why you do that.
It's not uncommon for it to become misconfigured. Set up the devices again when it's done. Maybe a different order of adding them would help. Try the hearing aid first and see if it works.
I'll give it a try, perhaps tomorrow, or after, once I've run with today's tweaks for a bit.

Just do it. I don't even think twice about it. A easy fix when it works
The bt device may also have its own reset in its software but may not do as well.
Again make sure the device has all its needed permissions including any in accessibility. It may not have prompted you to enable them during installation. That happens occasionally. Look it all over like a hawk. Playing in settings is fun, don't worry though as it's almost impossible to crash* a stock Android... explore it.
*always back up all your critical data redundantly to preferably 2 hdds that are physically and electronically isolated from each other and the PC. Crashes are very rare but can happen, being prepared to do a full reload at any time will save you time and grief.

I have a P6Pro and Resound hearing aids. They are pretty much working well. If the sound isn't piped to my ears and turn off and turn on Bluetooth and they connect properly. But the best hearing aid phone I ever had was my OnePlus 7 Pro. There was a button on the volume slider to pipe the sound to the phone, the ears, the car, or any other paired device. I miss that button!

At a glance: I have the impression, that current lag fixes are affecting the GPS performance of our loved toy. Let me explain why.
My GPS-History:
quite poor performance on original XXJF3
upgraded to JG1 and was quite happy with it. Far from perfect but usable
then I applied the Ryanzas lag fix and there the problem started. Loss of sat locks all the time and problem to lock to many sats. I did not think, that this might have something to do with the lag fix. It wouldn't make any sense for me.
upgraded lately to new JPC firmware and gps was quite okay. Not only fast fixes but also good accuracy (but far from perfect).
Now I applied again the lag fix and again had the gps problems mentioned above.
So now the question arises if that's just coincidence or could there be any connection.
What can we do about it?
First we have to make sure that this connection actually exists. Please, everyone who experience these problems check if you installed a lag fix. Try to figure out, what the problems are. Loosing locks, inability to create locks? How many sattelites can you connect to? Track your daily route and check accuracy. Now uninstall/disable your lag fix and do the same checks. Please reply what your outcome was.
What if?
Okay, assuming the lag fix is affecting the gps. How could that be? Of course, I can only guess. First of all, it sounds quite strange, that changes on the file system would affect the gps - but... Maybe the gps kernel driver is blocked somehow by the ext2 kernel module? We can test this by applying the first available lag fix (Krycek) where /data is moved to the nand storage. Search for "Galaxy-S Stalling Issue" to find the thread. It doesn't use an ext2 file system, therefore we can check, if it has anything to do with it.
So everybody please check out if this could be the source of our problems.
UPDATE:
Okay, after 34 votes (7/11/6/10) it seems to get clear, that there is no connection between a lag fix and the gps problems in general. This hypothesis has a statistical probability of 93 percent, which kind of proves it. What is actually interesting is that more than 60% of the voters were using lag fixes. Congrats RyanZa! The sad thing is, that about half of the voters have problems with their gps. Hopefully Samsung does something about it soon that finally fix it.
The lagfixes move some files around, they can't affect your gps.
No GPS problems, no lag fix
(accuracy not perfect but close to my real life location and that is good enough for me)
stock JH2
no lag switching between programs, always have GPS CoPilot8 running, Samsung IM, Samsung Social Hub, Fring, 5 account Emails sync, 3 calendar sync, weather sync, 5 contact sync, music player over bluetooth
all running at the same time

You're right man. It doesn't seem to be logical, I know that. I am dealing for about ten years with linux systems and my claim seems to be plain nonsense. However, the fact is that I (for me) can tell a difference. The only reason I can think of is an interference between the ext2 and the gps kernel drivers. Maybe the process priority of the gps driver is much lower than the fs driver so that the ext2 comes always first and "steals" cpu time.
weird that you mention that...
I was using the gps with success, no problems in acquiring sats signal nor navigating. I have JM2 with samset 1.8 with it's own lagfix.
I even kept the phone in an awkward place, behind my honda's handbrake, far from the front shield's air space.
Then last weekend I applied OCLF directly from the market. Everything went so fine, didnt have to remove the battery after the /data move. And it became a lot faster.
Two days ago I had to use the GPS and it didnt see sats for almost 30 mins. No fix *at all*. I gave up trying to use it had to stop to ask for directions.
I never connected the dots until I saw your thread.
Not really sure there are any dots to connect, guibao. It's a known fact that the GPS lives a life of it's own, and that it often works best right after a factory reset or a firmware flash. I must agree with RyanZA on this one.

I totally agree with you, there should be no relation between gps and lagfix.
But again it went bad after the lagfix. I installed more stuff but nothing related to GPS functions.
Will do some more testing tonite and report later.
The GPS worked fine tonight, but I left it warming a long while before hitting the streets.
Hi I also face this problem before, but able to solve it by recalibrated my compass, just key in *#0*# then click on sensor, hold your phone up site down do a few 8 turns and you must get a reading of 3 on the compass.
Now that you mention this... I know it seems almost irrational to say an ext2/3/4 partition affects GPS performance, but I was "OK" (that's a big word... ) with it on JM1. Then I downloaded OCLF from the Market and everytime my navigator drops the signal or gets stuck on navigation availability query. Bah! I may just guess it has to download the maps somewhere and it fails just like a Market download does sometimes (but I don't know if it's related to my ext partition). Maybe I should just unlagfix my SGS and see what happens.

That looks awesome! Would be cool if every user had this accuracy. Btw, how do you generate screenshots on eclair (2.1) without using adb?
outside lock, lagfixed 2.2 JPC
sometimes i do get a 8 or 9 grey bars that just wont lock on, but a reset of the phone clears that up. bit annoying all the same.
one thing that the graph isn't showing is satellite locks don't seem to last very long, but luckily there are enough of them that the connecting is continuous.

I have applied the Epic 4G GPS fix and anywhere outside my phone just refuses to get a decent lock. Every so often It will get a good reception but after moving it disconnects. Although with the new JPC firmware I had flashed the GPS was spot on. Connected instantly and no problems whatsoever with it stuttering or anything.
This is just a theory but there's a strong likelihood that people also update maps after flash and there lies the answer.you must restart phone after running maps for the first time or it will almost never get a lock.also network should be unchecked and rely only on agps.sometimes with network enabled the app can not even start the real gps.
I hate hate hate hate hate voice recognition services. The first thing I did with my Moto 360 was replace launchers and remove as much reliance on them as possible. Now that voice recognition is not needed to operate my watch at all I want to basically remove all ok google functionality, I am ok with disabling my mic on the watch, however every time I ask everyone goes "WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO DO THAT".
The fact is I do not ever intend on using the voice recognition for anything. This is a very nice watch with notifications I will not be attempting to answer emails or text except for quick reply's available on the watch such as "driving" "Ok" "See you soon" etc. This is a WATCH first and a companion device second, the biggest boon was I love to change my watch faces and with a program like Watchmaker I can essentially have a new watch every day if I choose!
I would also like to disable the fact that every time i tap the watch faces it opens the default launcher, more intuitive behavior would be tap to keep on double tap to launch launcher.
So if someone could please tell me how to either mute the mic or disable it all together since I cant seem to remove ok google hotword triggers.
I bought the watch to design faces like this one I made:

Thats ok I am a developer, already made the debug cable for the device to be hooked up via USB adb instead of BT adb. If there is a way and your aware it would be much appreciated, cant stand voice control I disable it on everything I can!
I haven't rooted the watch yet but if I have to I have no issue with it, my day job is basically working with the back end of embedded linux systems re-flashing Nand and troubleshoot software issues so I am pretty comfortable diving in, I just don't root unless I need to.
Thanks again
Bump....I am tempted to just open this thing up and actually cut the wires for the mic. If anyone has a easy solution to stopping always on mic that keeps listening that would be great.
I do not want a Mic on my watch I am not from star trek and it has ultimately proved to be more of a annoyance and privacy concern then added functionality.
Thanks again
If you're a "developer" you should know the difficulties in doing things that are contrary to basic functionality. I'm sorry, but if you want to do the things you say you want to do, you're really going to have to get your hands dirty and hack the firmware that runs on the watch, which as far as I know is not open source. Or hope someone develops a smart watch that does the things you want.
This is exactly what I bought my moto 360 for. I do not need all those functions except to change the watch face. That is what a watch for. I bought this watch a week ago and still not much time to play with it yet.
I'm not a big fan of the 360 software either. Hoping to see improvement in several areas. But to expect this is a "watch first and a companion device second" is like saying that a smartphone is a phone first and foremost. It's just not true anymore. I would argue that the majority of smartphone owners spend more time using their smartphone for email, games, web browsing, and taking pictures compared to the amount of time they actually use it as a phone. Personally I see the same in this new world of smartwatches. Google doesn't care if you use it as a watch. The battery can't even make it through a day with the watch face on all the time. They want you to use it to receive notifications and to even reply to messages without touching your phone. They want you to use navigation, fitness tracking, and even music control and playback all from your wrist, to take notes with Google Keep, locate your phone when it's under a couch cushion, monitor your heart rate, etc. Personally I think the verdict is still out for how useful any of this stuff really is (especially what Google Now thinks you might be interested in.....notification spam), but if you're looking for a really good watch then I don't think a 360 is for you. Find one with a better display, and maybe one that can at least keep the time showing all day long.
Also, before you open it up and assume there are "wires" connecting the microphones, I would take a look here:

No, probably not for most people. So I guess you bring up a good point. Since we don't say "ok google" very much and the watch thinks we do, this is proof that its voice detection reliability should be improved. This is one of the reasons why I turned off "tilt to wake".

This watch CAN make it through a full day with the screen on no problem. Im running ambient mode.
Ways voice activation activates:
- touch the watch face(Happens more then you think when your not trying to)
- Ok Google hot word
- Any slight alteration such as OK lets go(my bane word)
I don't even want the app launcher that comes with it. LOVE android watches HATE voice control always have. I am always listening to music/podcast and it just messes with that. I put in replacements for touch actions for everything so that is never more then 1 swipe and a key press away. My watch face i designed has hot spot key presses on it to go where I want with out ever swiping off the home-screen. I am not rooted yet since I didn't want to void warranty but I really hate this mic so I may have to.
To those triggering mic to much my solution to limit it was a invisible image 3 layer deep over the whole watch face. it takes 2-3 repeated taps on my watch face to cause the voice control to activate stops a lot of my accidental taps. I believe it isn't OK Google sensitivity that is the problem its that any time you touch the watch face while its on it doesn't mater if you said OK Google.
I use Watchmaker to make my faces, Id be more then willing to share the current watch later when I get home from work, let me know if anyone is interested.
Any update on a method to mute/disable mic or just OK google? I am still fishing around for a way to do this with out rooting if possible.
Mute wear mic on the play store sort of half does this currently in 5.1.1 it still responds to Ok Google but after that it will not pick up anything.
Thanks,

Am I the only one who really doesn't like voice control, and especially "always listening" devices?
Honest off topic question:
Why is everyone so ok with letting these devices literally pick up everything and send it to some unknown server to verify the recording doesn't contain "the keyword to trigger"?
My mindset is if they can search for a keyword they can search for anything and they have everything. From the joke you said that sounds so wrong out of context to anything else this is stuff that could ruin anyone's life with PC Police and media the way it is today!
Maybe freezing specific app via titanium backup could help.
You could fill the mic hole with epoxy or some kind of glue perhaps?
potentially a permanent solution.. but it'd probably work.
I am still under warranty so I am trying to limit it to software changes that can be reversed easily or wont flag a void of warranty.
I was thinking epoxy route or similar. What I would really like to do once my warranty is a combo of that and a mute/disable via hardware to assure.
You could probably gently drip nail varnish across the mic hole.. with a hole that small, surface tension will normally make it seal the hole without running into it, and therefore not stick to the mic as it doesn't get that far in.. you'd almost certainly be able to pick it out/off with a toothpick/pin if you ever needed too.
Probably not as good as the epoxy at stopping the mic working, but its likely to mute it enough that it wont pick up any words and therefore not invoke OK google.
Cant see how they would ever know if you picked it off if you ever needed to return it.

Mostly because that's not the way they work. If always-listening devices were sending all sounds to some external server you'd have a constant stream of audio being sent out, and that's juts not the case. Keyword verification is done on-device, while other voice stuff is done externally (typically) after the keyword is triggered.

I am aware how they are supposed to work, as a software developer that doesn't mean they WILL work that way. Its been proven that this data does end up getting transferred to servers at times(See Samsung smart TV issue a few months back), and that at any point a proper update can enable it so all of it gets sent up or similar.
I just don't like having ANY mics/camera enabled unless they are needed. Even my phone mic is muted unless it needs to be on.
I am that guy that since 15yrs old I have had all my ID cards and CC in what amounts to a faraday case to give you a idea. Nothing to hide I just like my rights!
Hi. I've been using this headset with MacBook pro, iphone and pixel 5. There are no issues whatsoever. However i paired it with the Pixel 6 Pro and I noticed that left earbud after a while when idle and nothing is being played just stops working. When i am putting music after a minute or two, only one that plays sound is right. The left one is visible as connected though. I need to put it back to the box and take out again to reconnect. I removed pairing of them from all the other devices, there is a latest firmware flashed, no idea what happens there. Anybody is using this headset and has same issue?
My set works perfectly. No problems. I'm assuming all firmware, sony app updated, etc.
I've got these exact headphones and I've had no issue
I have a pair of akg nc700's i got with my samsung. They work perfectly with every phone i have tried, but with the 6 pro, I cant get the microphone working.
Yoooo this happens to my pair too! I have to disconnect and reconnect to get them both going again or put them in the case and put them back in my ears (effectively the same thing) and it's so annoying... Can't remember if it happened on my OnePlus 6 or not
Mine does the same as well.
I have trouble connecting to my car's BT. I think there's some wonkiness going in with this phone's BT implementation.
I have the exact same problem with my WF 1000XM4, after a while the left earbud just stops working and is silent, you CAN fix this btw by pausing your music and then pressing on the left earbud do change the NC. Then it will work again.
It was bothering me, lol, I thought at first my Sony are defect/broken. So it's probably a software bug.
Ah, so there is an issue... Thanks all. Let's hope the software update will fix this bug

I was on conf call the other day, connected to company issued iphone 11 and as you said, the left ear bud just dead. Disconnected.
had to put it back in the case, take it out, and all good again. So it does happen not just in Pixel i guess.

I now tried out the headphones for 2 days without having the Assistant enabled, and still got the issue. Even though I (subjectively) think that the Problem has reduced in number, but that could just be coincidence.
Since I am still in return window, I'll probably send them back.
There are people on reddit who claim it's an Android 12 problem, but in either case I'm not willing to cash out 250 € for a product that doesn't work properly.
On a side note, are any of you able to play/pause videos in Facebook or MX Player app using the buttons on the Bluetooth earphones? I haven't been able to do so since they released Android 12 betas. I have tried with multiple earphones on Pixel 4 XL, 5 and now 6 Pro.

So i have a Xiaomi 11x and recently i bought realme buds Q2. I like the buds pretty much in the price range, the way it fits, sound and ANC etc. So everything is fine except one thing. After some random time, the buds keep disconnecting and reconnecting on its own after few seconds of disconnecting. Every time it disconnects and re-connects it makes a sound while wearing, which is very annoying. I got my buds replaced with same model but problem is still the same. So I guess problem is in my phone. I googled and done the following troubleshooting but failed to resolve the issue:
1. Tried resetting the buds by following steps given by Realme
2. Cleared bluetooth cache
3. Reset bluetooth (in settings > connections & sharing)
4. Given "no restriction" under battery to realme link app
5. Connected without realme link app
6. Even reinstalled MIUI bluetooth
Well, all the above stepps did not solve the issue. However, I observed following things:
1. It does not disconnect while on call or listening to music
2. It does not disconnect when screen is awake.
MIUI 13.0.9.0 up to date
Android 12
Bluetooth version 12
I hope i have explained to correctly. If there any other information needed regarding device, pls let me know.
Thanks in advance
Hi,
Poco F3 custom rom user have also been having issues with Bluetooth and Android 13,
I use Bluetooth with a portable speaker and in my Car, but only for short periods of time and have had no issues.
Is your F3 going in power saving mode when the screen is off
Is your bootloader unlocked, if so you could try a different rom,
I use the Amazing EVO-X A13 rom and have not had any issues with Bluetooth,
I hope your sort it.

I have Mi 11x not F3. I am not sure if it is going into power saving mode. But i do not face this issue on any other bluetooth device and only on these buds.

No. My phone is locked. I had unlocked my phones in the past and installed different ROMs but it always opened pandora's box with host of problems. May be I am not good at it. Anyway..... unlocking and flashing is last thing that I will try.
I fiddled with some settings in developer options, or elsewhere perhaps, and now phone's bluetooth does not connect to saved devices automatically. It was doing so earlier. So now, it disconnects the buds but does not connect again. I need to connect them manually everytime.
I hope to find a solution or may be a 3rd party app??
Since you haven't encountered the issue on different BT devices nor buds and you have tried a different pair of the same buds, the problems most likely lies in the buds.
i think it has to do with M13A12 i have redmi buds 3 pro...& after up to M13A12 the bt tend to be way much unstable..even worse after last security update not my bud guaranted always be disconnect by itself (with the anc doesn't seeme to able always on...) with no solution for that..so mostly i think because mine were redmi buds brand...

But these same buds work fine on my other phone So certianly, buds and my mi 11x are incompatible with each other. I noticed that the built in bt-app is creating some problem perhaps. When it disconnects, a pop to connect to buds come up on screen. Though it connects buds with phone in the back ground, the pop says could not connect. Same happened when i tried to connect it for first time. Well, i am living with it so far.

What is M13A12?? You mean miui13 and android 12?? If u mean this, u might be right. And yes, ANC has nothing to do with it. I alway skeep my ANC off.
When i did factory reset, it worked fine for a while. For few hours to be precise. Then it downlaod and updated some apps in background. Also, i uninstalled some system apps, bloatware mainly like mi share, mipay etc... And again the same problem started. So, I am certain some app is creating the problem.
I honestly have no idea. If the fault lies in the miui then a different ROM could potentially help.

up till today the by connection between redmi buds 3 pro & my F3 are gettin worse...it keep dc by it self for no reason at all...don't know why but useless to report to dev, since they never actually fix it (even with capture error code, which it hard to get)
i use other tws (sony xm4) guess what..this goes normal..no dc whatsoever & anc also work perfectly. or rb3p on other brand phone.. somehow this way even normal than on miui itself
guess short solution for me is using my usb c dac+wired iem... for anc just go other brand tws...or not using xiaomi phones

Yes. That is right. No solution in sight. Either install a ROM or get rid of Xiaomi.
Does this happen for anyone else? On my S22, not all of the time but sometimes, when I leave an app, go to recents, go home, etc, a tap sometimes won't register immediately, or maybe for .5 to 1 second. I have show taps enabled and I can see the taps happening, so the phone and touch screen are both aware of the tap, but they still don't do anything for a bit.
I think it's an issue related to One UI Home (Launcher) and its animations. They should definitely improve it and squash those annoying bugs.

Diaable all animations. Not needed.
There should be no delay. A second is an eternity. Is it running warm or hot when near idle?
Try clearing the system cache.
Try in safe mode. You may have a buggy 3rd party app.
Did you do any major firmware upgrades without a factory reset afterwards? If so... get reloading.
Do not use SmartSwitch.

For me, it's been this way since I got the phone, the animations definitely seem to cause most of the issues after turning them off, but some of my taps still dont register. It's significantly more rare with animations turned off but it's still there. Unless it's just normal for some taps not to register every now and then, but I never had this issue on my galaxy s9.
While typing in another app (chrome), I just tried going to my home screen and tapping a different app immediately, it didn't register it on the first try. I don't double tap so I'm not sure how long it takes to stop. It's rare but certainly still there.
I'm curious if anyone else here tries, even with animations off, if they would experience the same issue occasionally (I had my keyboard up and I was typing). While in one app, type or do something for a bit, and then hit home, and tried tapping another app immediately. For context, I am tapping it RIGHT as the screen switches to home. I know I'm not tapping it too fast or anything because my taps register more often than not doing the same thing.
Trying in safe mode is difficult as it seems the issue doesn't present itself immediately, even in normal mode, after a fresh boot. I also tried safe mode with my internet enabled and didn't experience the issue, but I'm still not experiencing it (in normal mode) right now at all. It's important to mention that I've experienced certain hiccups like this since I first got the phone, before I installed any third party apps. Most of the bloatware apps I have uninstalled. The only thing I can think of, that was available then and still available now, are apps like google drive, samsung notes, etc.

Show taps is enabled so I can see the screen acknowledges all my touches, it just doesn't do stuff otherwise sometimes.

Something running in the background.
Do a factory reset maybe to rule out user data corruption or malware.
Possibly corrupted firmware or mobo failure.
What are the power settings in Device Care?
Disable global power management.

I have everything off other than auto disable apps, it's instead listed as automatically put apps to sleep, is that the same thing?
I'd rather not factory reset, but I don't think it's malware if I got this phone factory fresh and it had the issues then too.
Considering it seems to get worse the longer the phone is on, I suppose a mother board issue would make sense. At least it hasn't progressively gotten worse altogether since I got the phone a year ago.
