Question POCO F3 does not make phone calls - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

I bought a POCO F3 and it is fully updated, currently running MIUI 13.0.3 global version. The problem is that it cannot make or receive phone calls. Connectivity and SMS works fine though. I tried turning on VoIP but my carrier does not support it yet, I tried another carrier and it worked with that carrier. I cannot change the carrier because of my work but I was thinking maybe if I flash the EU version will change something.
Does it seem like a problem that would be solved by flashing EU version (I live in EU) or if it is any other thing that I can try.

This can only apply to people who purchased the global version that has V9.6.7.0.OEDMIFD installed, as we know that 9.6.6.0 is broken
@nijel8 has received an official global Mi Max 3 (9.6.6.0 OEDMIFD) with working modem from this ebay seller:

there isnt any working modem on 9.6.6.0.OEDMIFD
I tried the default modem, 9.6.12.0 (china modem), 8.8.30, 8.9.6, 8.9.13, 9.6.6.0 (china modem)
I tried changing the vendor partition which broke even more stuff.
Maybe @nijel8 havent checked under ground (parking lots), in door buildings, and more which make the signal so weak.
also there is no LTE/LTE+ on the 9.6.6.0.OEDMIFD
We need someone with the un-released 9.6.7.0.OEDMIFD to confirm this

Don't be so sure as we don't know 9.6.6.0 is broken. You've already said 9.6.4.0 is fake and that wasn't true.
You installation of 9.6.6.0 doesn't proof anything.
We know for sure many times problems are fixed by fastboot rom nad we don't have global fastboot rom released yet to test.
Yes, I haven't tested mine enough to know for sure it runs fine under different conditions so I will not say it has no problems, we've had enough rumors spread around... So let's just leave it to people who have more to say...
I'm on 9.6.6.0 for a week now as a daily driver, no problem at all. So, afaik, 9.6.6.0 is not broken.

This doesnt confirm anything.
I used 9.6.6.0 for a week and I had a lot of signal issues, nav keys failed a lot
I am looking forward to 9.6.7.0 but especially to 9.6.8.0 which has anti rollback so we will be able to fastboot flash it on ARB devices
Global SKU of the phone is not available yet.
I'd suggest waiting if you want modems to work properly - possibly also extra bands and NFC.
Can a phone with a metal back do NFC? Just asking...

I'm not sure if you are aware what are you actually using. The phone does not have NFC. https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_max_3-8963.php That is one of its weak point.
You cannot enable something by software if the hardware is missing.

I'm aware the version currently doesn't, and of course it can't be enabled without the hardware.
However, I was told by a retailer (who are selling 'global' units) that the true global version was not available yet, would be a distinct hardware version, and that it may carry both extra bands and NFC.
"I'm not sure if you aware" that other global versions of Chinese phones have added both an NFC reader and additional bands? It is not unlikely in this case.
I had asked them about the likelihood of a Max 3 Pro coming soon (and with NFC) as Malyasian / Indian e-tailers had re-added pre-orders for the Pro, with October expected date. They said they didn't know, but gave the above information about the global Max 3.

Well I did read about the device quite a bit but I haven't seen anywhere the global version would have NFC. I doubt Xiaomi would change the hardware in the global version. M3Pro on the other hand as you say may come with that but its up in the air yet...
It's rare that Chinese brands release any information ahead of availability of global SKUs, even if the hardware differs (which it not infrequently does).
We'll see.
The Max 3 is apparently among those devices that'll be officially available in European markets .. that makes it a lot more likely that bands and NFC will be added, as there have been in other phones.
I didn't think that there was any difference between the original Chinese variant and the International/Global variant which they began selling in Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines last week, but I was wrong. My Chinese Mi Max 3 arrived from tradingshenzhen with an unlocked bootloader and xiaomi.eu flashed as I had requested, and with xiaomi.eu 8.8.9 it works great. But a friend recently came home with a Max 3 purchased in the Philippines which is running v9.6.7.0.OEDMIFD (Global). When he goes to the Mi verification web site and enters his IMEI it says "you have a valid International Version". When I go to the site and enter my IMEI it says "you do not have a valid International Version and may encounter difficulties - please purchase from official distribution channels in the future".

thanks for the reply, so it comes down to luck, hit or miss with 9.6.6.0 and i'm better off waiting for xiaomi to put a fixed version in the official rom website ? (As of now no official firmware to download there for this device !)

Ok, I am getting irritated by you already...
Don't give your opinion on something you don't completely understand. As I said your installation procedure is so lame I don't even know how to say it without offending you. Believe me that is not my intention...
First you don't have global version and the OP question is specifically for that one.
Second you don't have fastboot global rom to begin with. There are so much more to the rom than what is it in the recovery zip. Otherwise Xiaomi won't be releasing both.
Third how do you know if Xiaomi didn't place some restrictions preventing Chinese devices running Global rom properly hence your problems...
So until you flash fastboot Global rom or better yet for this OP get global version try to not spread false information.
Peace...
No official yet?

Manila, Philippines
Although it displays as 4g+ instead of LTE.
Do most people here also want to use it with t mobile? I'm in the same situation as OP. Curious about this on att and t mobile and don't want to mess with it much right out of the box

Question Flashing Global ROM to North American OP9 Pro question

If you were to get a dual-SIM tray and flash the global ROM to the NA OP9 Pro, would there be any issues using dual-SIM? Also, even if it did work, would there be any way that an update would remove that capability?
I've never flashed a ROM before, so please forgive my ignorance.
I was just thinking about this more, probably needs more than just installing a rom. probably a needs msm tool
I did exactly that (picked up dual sim tray, flashed EU OOS full) on my OnePlus 9 5g NA (AA) version, and the second sim still didn't read. As another member posted, it likely will require a custom MSM flash. I had hoped the TMobile conversion tool/procedure would work for that, but can't risk my main phone for now.

Question OOS 11.2.5.5BA/NA 5G/Dual Sim?

Hi all, I think I already know the answer to my question.... I just want to be 100% sure as my searches are not quite revealing my answer.
Like many...when I received my NA OP9Pro I was disappointed to notice it wasn't dual SIM. Sent it back and still waiting for a refund for almost 2 months now. (That's a frustration with OP in itself...makes me want to go back to Samsung....UGH!) Anyways, I currently have an LE2120 (Chinese Model) running OOS 1.2.5.5BA (European version) and I am well aware that out of the box the NA version does not come with Dual SIM hardware.
The question that I am not 100% sure of is would the software build still allow dual SIM? My gut strongly tells me no..
The reason why I ask is that currently I don't have access to 5G. I thought it was because my work SIM didn't have 5G enabled on the carrier, I was incorrect. I still don't have access to a 5G, just shows 2G/3G/4G. I thought maybe it is because I am using a EU build here in Canada where maybe the bands don't line up...I have done searches on why 5G isn't available but nothing seems to fix it.
Just a shot in the dark...for people much smarter than I am!
No, simply running EU rom on NA hardware does not enable dsds. You can setprop for dsds but it doesn't work properly, seems to wire the first sim card into both slots and cause a conflict
Maybe I didn't word my question in the correct fashion.
I have dual SIM hardware, in my case it is the Chinese Version but I'm told the hardware doesn't differ as it still a Global Version.
The question is NA ROM, on Dual SIM hardware. If the rom itself supports it. I would just try it, but then I have to wait for the next update.
If you have LE2120, then the EU build should get you dual sim
I have LE2120 and I'm switch to Oxygen OS and trying build AA/BA/DA all working with sim dual
About 5g .. i have same your problem no option 5g only 2g/3g/4g
First check your country bands support
First try:
*#*#4636#*#* and choose NR/LTE/CDMA/EvDo/GSM/WCDMA if not fix 5g
Another way to fix:
I'm fixed 5g same steps its was on op8p
Sorry about english

So you have tried your LE2120 on AA? Dual SIM is all working ok?
I feel like switching to AA would get me unto the proper bands here in my country, but leary to do it because then I have to wait to the next build. Unless I decide to go root/magisk.
I did try the *#*# method, but that doesn't do anything. I have tried several different dialers and it never brings up this menu everyone talks about.

Any status on AA working with dual sim? I see that you never responded. I have the new .7 OTA update, but still hesitant to put it on if I loose dual sim

Stock Indonesian version at Mi10T 5G Global

Hello good morning,
Can I Fastboot the Indonesian version on my MI10T that came with the Global Stock version?
My intention is to be able to have the MIUI phone, contacts and SMS applications and not those of Google.
At this moment, I have the MIUI.EU Stable, but I find several BUGS to its latest version, such as the exchange of windows and the most critical for me, the one that if I am connected by Bluetooth to listen to music, and I receive a call, I cannot switch to Speaker Call because the change does not work.
I will be grateful if you can guide me.
Greetings

I use the same version on my phone. Just unlock the bootloader and go to fastboot mode then flash the Indonesian version of rom.

Question Few Questions About Unrooting OP 11 16/512 CN

Hi! I want to chage phone (unfortunately) coz a lot of my apps is not supported anymore on my SGS6((
I choose OnePlus 11 16/256. Since i live in EU i wanted to import CN version from china (tradingshenzen with global rom - OxygenOS if i remember correctly).
Is it possible to unroot this device without triggering region lock issue? (i receive message that they fixed it finally but dunno hot it works, and if unroot the device the problem will come back)
Can some shen some ligt to me? Maybe someone already try it?
Why CN- the price is much cheaper and they got 512 gb version.
buy it. Someone living in Vietnam, who can unlock and unbrick the region's issues with 15$.
I receive the answer from tradingshenzen and they r saying the bootloader is unlocked. Will it be enough to instal some recording app, or ill still need to root the phone?
And how is with this region lock issue? Coz the TradingShenzen r saying that the problem is fixed permanently and wont occur after rooting the phone, but i read that the problem still exist??
