i am running miui_ALIOTH_V13.0.6.0.SKHCNXM_fffc42bed6_12.0.zip on my mi 11x aliothin. I have a PKI enabled sim card, which is required to login on some government websites (it sends a prompt on my device to enter my PKI password). the service was working fine while i was on miui eu 12.5.18. but since i have moved to 13.0.6 china miui, the request gets rejected automatically. what could be the issue? i had rooted my device but then later removed magisk as my banking app wouldnt work. i swapped my sim to another device and it works fine. so it has something to do with my rom.

Hello,
Currently i am running the latest version of CM13 (cm-13.0-20160307-UNOFFICIAL-Z00A.zip ) on my phone, but this issue also occured with the other versions starting from the 1st of march.
With 2 sims inserted in my phone, both of these sim cards work fine when i put them separately in the phone, however when i put them both in some weird issues occur.
The problems start when booting my phone, the phone asks me to enter the PIN for sim 1, which works and connects the card to the network ( and fetches my latest messages and such )
Then the phone obviously asks me for the PIN of my second sim, which it accepts. However after accepting my SIM the same popup comes up asking me for my PIN for sim2 again.
And when entering the PIN it gives me the error : "SIM PIN operation failed".
After multiple attempts, it finally gets me in the phone. However the data on SIM1 is not functioning anymore.
What i've tried is:
Multiple different CM releases from the past week
Putting my phone in airplane mode and out again
Factory reset the phone
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
I was on PixelExperience (latest) and yesterday flashed through Magisk 17.0 and 17.1. Today morning device couldn't connect to mobile network at all (2G/3G/4G/LTE). Wiped it completely, flashed latest dev firmware and Nitrogen OS + unofficial Gapps for Android Pie. Everything works quite smooth, but still my device can't connect to mobile carrier - any ideas what I can try? It's crucial for me to fix it today since I need to be able to send/receive SMS tomorrow.
Tried switching sim slots?
Just to see if the sim card works with the other slot.
Does an IMEI number show for both slots under settings - about? (Don't tell us your IMEI)
Are you sure your network provider hasn't cut you off by mistake or some other weird account based issue?
Try another sim if you can get one.
A pay as you go sim without credit should still show a connection even if you can't use it
Yeah, I did try.
1. Tried other card (got polish Orange card which connects to EE, UK EE card - both work in my brother's SGS6).
2. IMEI is okay, don't know if IMEI SV should be 00 though.
3. Cards work okay in SGS6.
99% it's software issue - I've used Magisk modules to widen Wi-fi bands and other modules - I did format all partitions and flashed latest stable Global MIUI through fastboot though and it should override all the settings. I've used the *#*# code and I can't pass the test.
x-post from miui forum
Hi,
I'm having some issues installing MobileIron MDM on my Mi 6, I'm running MIUI 10 Global 8.9.13 Beta. The installer works and the device is passing all required checks (i.e. device is encrypted, not rooted etc.) and the configuration is starting. But there's one point during the configuration which requires the installation of a certificate. At that point the installer is asking the user to enter a password by pressing and holding the password field for the context menu to paste the password which should be on the Android clipboard (see screenshot) which doesn't work, there is no password on the clipboard. I can use the 'Paste' function but nothing is entered into the password field.
I've done this on other phones and other Android versions before and it has always worked without any issues.
Has anybody of you encountered such a problem before? Copy/Paste generally works in other applications but during the installation the clipboard remains empty (I also tried to paste into a text field in a different application, didn't work).
Has something around the handling of certificate installations and/or access to the clipboard changed in MIUI 10?
Many thanks in advance!
BR,
Thorsten
I was able to fix it today. I've been trouble-shooting this with a Xiaomi Mi 5 and Xiaomi Mi 6 phone on different versions (MIUI 9 and MIUI 10, both global stable and global developer) but I now believe the version doesn't really matter, the "fix" should be applicable to all versions with this issue.
Here's a brief description of what happened -- this might make a bit of a confusing read, but bear with me: During the installation the user gets that notification about “Press paste on the next screen to insert password for the certificate….” but the next screen is not the certificate import (it is most likely a system dialog asking for the regular device PIN but I couldn’t fully test that step).
So there's that dialog where I thought I should paste the certificate password -- the step that repeatedly hadn’t worked. Today I finally used the “forgot password” function. I had tried that before but always cancelled it because the “forgot password” function was just asking for another password – which didn’t make sense to me at that time.
Today I noticed how the “forgot password” function brings up a dialog which contains my MI account number. That made me realize that the FIRST dialog might have actually asked for my device PIN (despite asking for a password) with the second dialog (after the “forgot password”) providing the option to remove the device PIN (or password) by entering the MI account password.
Long story short: I entered my MI account password which kind of “unlocked” the whole (and terrible) “import certifcate, don’t change certificate name, paste password” ordeal. [email protected] is working flawlessly now. It seems there’s some form of MIUI function around the MI account “protecting” the certificate store, that's why that MIUI dialog interfered with the [email protected] installation in an unfortunate and unexpected way.
Good luck to all who run into the same issue.
I am getting this no Network error since yesterday..i have even formatted it..but still it is same..help anyone
I haven't done anything.. bootloader is still locked..it was charging ..and then suddenly no network..
same here
no IMEI , and i can't request bootloader unlock, it asks to insert sim card !
in edl mode you need a auhorized account, Xiaomi has horrible support :/
I installed LineageOS barbet 18.1 and it went very smooth. The phone boots up and looks just like the GUI on my old Moto G7 Plus with LineageOS. I went through the first boot setup and it seemed like everything was working. Then, I inserted the SIM card and started the phone. In "Settings" under "Network & Internet" I select "Mobile network" and the only thing I see is a switch turned off and it wont let me turn it on. Under mobile data, it says, "no sim card". the same sim works in my other phone. I have taken it out and put it back in my old Moto G7 plus and it is recognized, however, it is not recognized in my new Google PIxel 5a. I have rebooted several times and closely examined and cleaned the SIM and reinstalled, with same results. Under "About phone" it says, SIM status "Not available". Why doesn't this phone see my SIM?
Android version 11

I have the same "No SIM card" issue on my new Japan-sourced pixel 5a. I've tried it with the latest three versions of LineageOS barbet 18.1, and none work. My SIM works in other phones.
The only things I've got installed are Magisk, and the RethinkDNS firewall.
I just found the following Pixel 5a issue on the LineageOS gitlab, which reports similar symptoms.
Pixel 5a - No Sim Card Detected - Confirmed Working On Google Android 11/12 (#4235) · Issues · LineageOS / issues / android · GitLab
Expected Behavior Pixel 5a should see the SIM card and connect to the mobile carrier.

Plus another similar: https://gitlab.com/LineageOS/issues/android/-/issues/4444
The solutions offered are a mix of "flash back to an exact stock image first" and "it works when MindTheGapps is installed"

i found out what I did wrong! There is an instruction I ignored in the very beginning at https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/barbet/install
"
Warning: Before following these instructions please ensure that the device is on the latest Android 11 firmware.
This is not necessarily the newest available version! Please up- or downgrade to the required version before proceeding (guides can be found on the internet!)."
so after the first try, I had barbet that was written for Android 11 on a phone that still had android 12 on its ROMs
My phone was version 12 and needed to be downgraded. Instead of using the normal download from lineageos, I installed a much larger file 1.6GB but I forgot where I got it. anyway, it worked.
