You will not lose the ROM, but you might lose gapps.
Boot the ROM after formatting to make sure it can even boot, but also so that it can encrypt the storage in its own preferred way, then reboot to recovery, and flash gapps.

I don't imagine you need to flash the stock rom for the device first. In any case, make a backup of your device's boot, vendor, system and data partitions before flashing this, just in case.

You're right. A lot of devs (particularly the Havoc OS guy) have given up on this device. Devs who continue developing and maintaining ROMs for this device have to be on another level, bro.

Thank you very much for the custom rom I tried this the latest version is v5.1.3 ysl in the website I compared this to pixel plus ui but this dotos is so much better battery is better and no errors when running the os and so much customizations you can tweak and clean too if you are looking for a great custom rom for redmi s2 this one is the pick

I can not delete finger print or face data for some reason. That said, it's the best ROM I tried on my S2. Thank you very much for putting an effort on the ROM!

When DotOS 5.2 Version?

Using DotOS version 5.2 for ysl its great smooth only bug i found is the charging led light notification wont shut off when battery full charge 100% same for other custom roms I tried still on when battery is 100%

Dirty flash will give you lags on ui........Better clean Flash it

CLEAN FLASH :
- Before proceeding any further, make sure you have downloaded all the files required for successful installation i.e., ROM zip (Superior-*.zip), boot.img, vendor_boot.img, firmware from the download links below.
- ROM zip, boot.img, vendor_boot.img are available in Download folder of the ROM.
1. Reboot to bootloader (fastboot)
2. Connect your phone to PC
3. fastboot flash boot boot.img
4. fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img
5. fastboot reboot recovery
6. Select Wipe data/factory reset & confirm
7. Go back and select Apply update from ADB
8. adb sideload Superior*.zip(or drag down the rom zip to cmd)
9. adb sideload firmware*.zip (only if there's a firmware update)
10. After installation complete, Reboot system.
DIRTY FLASH :
1. Download proper flashable ZIP for your device
2. Reboot to Recovery
3. Select Apply update from ADB
4. adb sideload awaken*.zip(or drag down the rom zip to cmd)
5. adb sideload firmware*.zip (only if there's a firmware update)

hey i have been using your miui cam zip in lineage os 20 it works but after sometime it stops working again and again then i have to clear the miui camera app data and it starts to work again can you help me here ?
