Hi Guy's/Girls,
I have a question about apps on the active 2. I got this watch, as a present, about six months ago. I'm very happy with it and therefore hope you can help me.
Is there a way to use WEAR OS apps on Thizen OS? A work around or something? I need to get in shape and have a Jefit subscription, but their app only supports Wear OS.
I was looking on this forum and others, but most posts date back to 2017/2018. So either it is impossible and people have given up, or I'm missing something obvious....
Looking forward to reply's.
Have a nice day!

So Ive switched to a smartphone for various reasons from the wizard, and Im trying to at least get a couple things I was quite fond of into my excalibur.
First, I would love to see my contacts first name, last name. I noticed a few people raised the question, but I have yet to see a solution. Any help with this would be great.
Second, and infinitely more important, I desperately need a way to run some palm software (http://www.davideubank.com/ , important calculation charts for on set movie stuff) on the phone. I was using style tap on the wizard, but it was a bit buggy. If anyone know of any way to run this stuff that would be amazing.
Thanks guys, keep rockin.
Mike
Just discovered Tasker, I have been using Locale since first getting my G1, but had loads of issues with profiles not working correctly etc but found this;
http://tasker.dinglisch.net/
Its not as userfriendly as locale but is much more powerful and customisable and have to say so far so good, would recommend to anyone looking for an alternative to Locale!
though I must say some of these settings I would like to see native to android, especially auto profile settings.
setting profiles is above tasker in usability and below locale in price meaning it's just right for me.

I thought that too until I read a review that I can't link yet due to being new and tried Tasker myself. I much prefer it over the other two.
Question is, have you figured out any trick or neat things to do with programs like this minus the typical Wifi On/Off stuff?
I have set up a page of widgets that change the wallaper!!..i think its cool, so with one click I can change the wallaper. Another is having GPS come on when maps is opened and switched off when maps is closed, or wifi switching on when opening internet and switch off when closing.
there are so many possibilities, could spend hours configuring timed widgets or normal widgets, various profiles. Yes the leaning curve is a little longer then other apps but its just hands down the best profile/settings manager
Bumping this thread just to let everyone know one of the BEST apps in for the Android platform at the moment. TASKER is excellent. I hope Google learns of this and buys the program, hires the programmer, and builds this into Android as a sort of "Advanced Utility" for everyone.

Bad idea....this probably means we need to pay for it again
I myself just added in a new profile to for an auto responder to anyone who sms/call me when my hp is facing down. Good for when you want to have some peace (busy or sleeping) but yet wish to let other know you will get back to them later
So awesome, my gf also want me to pay for her one
Proud to announce the release of my first app on the Google Play store.
Startn'Stop is a basic Android timer application. Keep track of how many seconds have passed.
Useful for exercising/cooking/etc.
What went right:
Learned a lot of the basics of Android dev and got to know the SDK better.
Got my feet wet on some mobile UI design.
Learned how good StackOverflow is as a resource.
Found eclipse Android SDK integration to be good.
What went wrong:
When something went wrong the best way to find help was by Googling the error.
Be prepared to have a lot of assets ready (art).
Many different sizes and resolutions needed.
Creating the keystore gave me a minor headache at first, until I realized more about it.
Know issue when leaving app run open in background. Different things w/ different Android versions.
Overall, I'm glad to be getting this out there on the market. It is the first in more apps to follow. If you would be so kind to check it out and provide some feedback I would appreciate it. It feels awesome just knowing that my app could be helpful even if it's just for one person. Willing to review and give feedback for other people's apps. Just let me know.
You can find my app, Startn'Stop by searching:
"Startn'stop" on the Google Play and Amazon app markets.
Thank you guys so much. Even knowing that some of my code is around the world on devices is a pretty cool feeling!
Hi all,
I just bought my Huawei Watch and noticed it's quite limited when paired with an iPhone - most notably when it comes to apps (presumably due to Apple's policies). The internet seems quite scarce when it comes to development resources related to iPhone + Android Wear so I was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. Most notably, I'd like to know:
Would it be possible to create an iOS app and an Android Wear app (installed manually via adb) and have them communicate with each other in some way?
Assuming the previous is possible, what are the limits of this approach, i.e. is there anything that wouldn't be possible in this kind of Android Wear app that's possible when paired with Android?
How difficult would it be to produce an Android Wear app that would "trick" the iPhone into thinking it's an Apple Watch, in a way which would make existing Apple Watch apps work with it?
Note: I'm fully aware that these things, even if possible, wouldn't be able to reach the Apple app store - I'm OK with that, I'd only be doing this for personal use.
Any help / links pointing in the right direction regarding the specifics of Android Wear <-> iPhone apps are more than welcome.
If it were that easy it would have been done already. Just get an Android phone or get an iWatch.
If your jailbroke, I think there are some apps like that that give you additional functionality.

1. Possible but no one would take that on. This is generally a non-iPhone forum.
2. See #1
3. Nearly impossible. You would need an emulator on the watch to make the watch think it's an Apple Watch so it would run the Apple Apps. And if someone did do this it would be so god awfully slow it wouldn't be worth it.
I hate to say it but... Get an Android phone or an Apple watch for maximum usability.
I myself am an Android fan Get your self a Nexus 6P or the Nexus 5X.
Just to clarify - I'm not looking for an existing solution (though I'd be fine with it if one exists), but I'm looking to work on one myself in my spare time and am looking for some resources to get started.
I'm aware this forum is mostly Android-related, but there are definitely iOS-related topics as well (in retrospect, I probably shouldn't have posted in this forum - I expected the question might have some hwatch-specific to it - so maybe it should be moved to Android Wear Software and Hacking General?)
Ahhh... I see ok. I get you!
I dont know of any resources that would be of any benefit to you.
Sorry but good luck as well!
I currently have a SM2 and enjoy a very useful watchface that I was able to completely customize with a huge amount of info produced by the very capable NeonDigit app that was developed by a member on here, it has about 10 individual data
Time/date
Time (other Time zone)
weather
Temp
exchange rate
battery for watch
battery for phone
calls
I also have an app that allows me to control powerAmp player (on the phone) remotely from the watch
All great and very useful
So I was considering buying a SM3 and have a few questions
1. In terms of apps etc is it all mostly Android wear and not SM3 specific
2. Are there custom watch faces like what I mentioned above that I can use on SW3
I just want to make sure that I can do mostly what I do now on SW2 on SW3 - is this all possible ?
I was using Facer time ago, it is awesome and there are a lot of watchfaces that allows you to do this
and about poweramp.. well i think android wear can control any music player, i'm using it to control play music
search for facerepo in google, there are a lot of watch faces
Thanks for the info and quick reply, will keep an eye out for a good deal on SW3
My SW2 is getting a bit old now and the charge/usb cover is long gone - can't find anywhere for a replacement, I think soon enough there is going to be water gets in there forcing me to change anyway lol
Well, the SW3 won't be getting AW2 officially, and the work-in-progress port don't look too promising. So it will eventually be out of date. Just keep that in mind when buying one in 2017.
