Fastboot roms can be flashed from the Mi flash apps
Recovery roms are flashed from device settings page, but if it's a beta rom you will need a mi account that is in the china beta program
There's a magisk module that will allow you to skip that account check, you need to be rooted
Can you give me a link to download the magisk module? I will install the stock chinarom and upgrade from there. Thanks
hi
I cant unlock the device
I just get this error

Try these, they are meant to do the same thing but I cannot remember which one worked for me
I think the first one is for a12, the second is for a11

Hi everyone. I am new to this sub.
Was wondering if my device is ready to use, or do I need to flash it.
Ordered global rom, but not sure if this is stock. Don't want bloat, and need google play store.
Thank you!

Hey! If its genuinely a Global version the writing on the box should be in English, and if the handset hasn't been tampered with the box should come sealed in cellophane.
If that's the case then you shouldn't have to flash anything at all. If the handset comes with the Chinese ROM installed and you want native Google Apps you'll have to flash the Global ROM
Whether its China or Global it doesn't matter. Flashing to Global ROM is straightforward, risk free and takes just 10 minutes.
check your MIUI rom version. if your rom version is not four digits with 3 dots, e.g: 8.1.2.0 then yours is not on official rom.
if it is not on official MIUI rom, then its always good to flash with the stable global MIUI rom.

Hey, AFAIK the latest stable Global ROM is: MIUI Global 8.1 | Stable 8.1.4.0 - Android 6.0.1 - Security Patch Level 2016-12-01
Try running the system updater app and see if you can grab the latest OTA
(System -> About Phone -> System Updates [at the bottom])

That should be unofficial rom or usually called distributor rom. Usually you will encounter ads.
So if its me, i will flash it with official rom. The latest version is 8.1.6.0 global miui
I just got mine from ordering from Aliexpress also, I think from the Xiaomi direct store. Just received it and I did get to choose English and it does have Google Play Store. I found it weird and interesting that I couldn't select US as the locale so I selected HK for now.
Oh forgot to mention my box was all in Chinese. I've also updated from some version of 8 to 8.1.4.0 stable.
MIUI10 for Redmi 5 Plus released with android up-gradation to 8.1 from 7.1. When some users got bricked their phones upon downgrading the android version then Xiaomi realized and informed it on their forum that the recent updates have anti roll back protection implemented by Google for enhanced device security.
Well its enough for intro of anti roll back protection, this guide is for users whom have addiction to change roms.
I go through XDA Forum and MIUI Forum I found that users downgrade their phones but the results are nothing except the boot-loop.
Lets move to the guide to safely downgrade your redmi 5 plus!
Requirements:
Definitely Unlocked Bootloader
Custom Recovery
MIUI10 Dev 8.7.3 zip
MIUI9 Dev 8.4.19 or later fastboot rom
Process:
Download the 1st global MIUI10 closed beta 8.7.3 update and flash it using TWRP.
After flashing boot into system and check if your MIUI version is now 8.7.3 then boot the device into fastboot mode.
Load the MIUI9 Dev 8.4.19 or later in Xiaomi/MI Flaash Tool connect you device and select the "clean all" and click on flash.

So provided , my device has MIUI 10.0.4.0, as of now so it wont be a problem to downgrade via "Choose Update Package" in System Updater in About Phone right?
Thanks.

I've tried it and it's safe. to make sure it's safe please first check the current ARB version and make sure it's the same as the ARB version for the MIUI ROM that will be flashed for downgrade..

Bro do you have begonia and was your anti version of your phone 1 also can you provide me the link of you miui 11 a9 rom
The ARB is always 1 in every ROM distribution for begonia. Is ARB a thing in MTK devices?
Anyway, just downgrade via miflash, and never lock your bootloader, i.e. choose "flash only" or "keep userdata", but for downgrading android, you may encounter some issue that solvable by factory reset.

you can find it here https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/begonia/ and make sure the ROM is in accordance with your device both from the region and the ROM code, make sure you have unlocked the bootloader to increase the MIUI version and downgrade the MIUI version by using the mi flash tool (recommended)

So I downloaded this "Incremental Update" file for the latest EEA Miui version (12.5.6) and I was wondering if it is possible to update to it from my global 12.5.4 version without losing any data?

No you can not!
Because the global and the eea are two different rom.
If you want miui 12.5.6_EEA you have to:
1)Unlock the bootloader;
2)Flash fastboot full version 12.5.6 with miflash.

Wrong its possible without unlocking bootloader, I did it yesterday.
On my X3 Pro from EEA to Global. I made it with XiaomiToolV2 but use the Local Zip File option that works.

I dont think so. It works fine for me but I still did a factory reset after the update (just to be sure), no problems so far. Im using the phone since yesterday. I even got OTA update from 12.5.4.0 to 12.5.5.0 and it was successful
You can actually. I've switched from Global rom to India rom without unlocking bootloader with no problems before. I've even locked it by an accident when i was coming back from Xiaomi.eu rom (not EEA) and it worked perfectly fine. Then I've unlocked again and went back to custom roms. Just don't flash China rom. My phone is Global variant if it helps.

yes, it is possible, (I haven't personally tested that software) but using the full package and not the incremental upgrade.
However, it is not recommended to do any modding operation with a locked bootloader, because if any problem occurs in the process it is more complicated to solve it.
Let's say it is much safer to do these operations with an unlocked bootloader.
Yes it's very dangerous with a locked bootloader. Be careful. You risk bricking your phone and not being able to flash again.
Hi all.
I need your help because my MI PAD 5 is bricked.
I bought it on a French site, but it arrived with a global version and an unlocked bootloader.
As I didn't like it, I locked the bootloader.
I should not have. Now I boot into recovery, because the system that is installed is not the right one.
I think it is Chinese version with global rom installed.
Unfortunately, I can't unlock the bootloder again.
Do you know how I can get out of this?
Thanks in advance.
Can you go into Fastboot mode?
Download the latest Chinese Fastboot ROM and try flashing it through MiFlash. It should work and restore your tablet back.
Hi,
Yes, i can go in fasstboot mode.
I'll let you know if it works.
Thank you.
