Put on latest ArrowOS 12.1. Both gcam and cam that came with ROM has muffled unacceptable audio while doing video with rear cam. Found someone here on XDA having same issue with some LineageOS but don't know where to look anymore or what to do.
Anyone maybe had same problem with some custom ROM and found a solution?

Does anybody recognised that the camera picture and video quality is worst with newer roms?
With O2 1.13.188 rom the camera works perfect. But If I upgrade the rom with a newer one I get blurry, overflashed pictures and video.
Is there any solution to solve this problem somehow?
I want to upgrade the rom but I want a good quality pictures too.
THX in advance.
yep iv noticed!#also the refresh for video is terrible!
anyone know which rom offeres decent/normal video?
Hi guys, I would like to report a bug that has been spotted on all AOSP roms from 4.2.2 till 4.4.2 so far. Using any AOSP based rom (Probam, CM, Omnirom etc) when recording a video it turned up to have the audio recorded only for the right channel (you can hear that by playing the video in a PC o trough headphones). The weird thing is that it doesn't happen if insteat of using the rear camera you record a video by using the front facing one: in that case the audio will be stereo!! That's pretty weird and I am wondering if there is a fix for this (maybe a different kernel or app).
Would be awesome if someone report it to developers, in case they aren't aware of that. Thanks
Any update on this? I'm on Paranoid Android 4.4.2 latest and still see this issue? Any workarounds would be great to hear.
Hey guys,
I dont seem to find a working mod that gives me working Camcorder Audio when recording Videos in a loud environment like a Festival. My girlfriend and me were both recording Videos from the same distance. Here Videos taken with the IPhone 5S have a perfect Audio quality. Mine are not watchable. The Sound is totally distorted.
There was a mod here on xda in 2016 unfortunately it is not working with Resurrection Remix Oreo. Anyone an idea? Is there a working mod?
Thanks for your help
+1 were u using the stock camera of rr or gcam?
While looking for a nice Google Cam port for this handset, the XDA Portal Google Cam Hub mentioned Arnova's port. I've also seen that there is a fix for our device so that the port works properly, and that it needs root or TWRP to be installed. Without root and with the stock recovery, I proceeded to install the GCam port and used it for a couple of days, comparing its pics with others from the stock camera app. I have a couple of questions:
I've noticed no difference in quality. Do I need to adjust something in the settings of the ported APK other than to prevent the camera from taking purple photos? Maybe I'm doing something wrong and the quality could be better, maybe on the OP5T there isn't a big difference in camera quality between stock and GCam, and I just don't know it.
Is the fix needed if I'm just going to use the ported APK to take still pictures with the rear camera? I've read that the fix just deals with recording video and with the front camera.
Thank you beforehand. Probably there are details that I failed to read when I was searching for the port, but with this GCam thing being so decentralized it's a mess.
The image quality es better, less postprocessing and HDR+ it's just fantastic and GCam always perfect White Balance
I found that some versions of Arnova has that purple thing, just try diferents versions and stick to the best one (it depends if your ROM has the libs like Omnirom Treskmod)
Just try diferent Arnova versions : https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/

Hi guys,
since years I'm having issues with camera microphone on LineageOS/Cyanogenmod roms: after 2-3 seconds of video recording I get muffled audio (technically described as audio phasing).
The problem exists since the time of CM 13.x on LG G3, now I'm inheriting it on LineageOS 16 (and previous major releases).
Actually I'm running LineageOS 16.0-20191123 with OpenGapps Stock 9.0 Nano 20191123.
To let you understand what I'm talking about, after 2-3 seconds of video you can hear an "underwater" effect and a lowered volume.
Someone could argue I've not done enough tests, so I list all the apps I've used:
Snap Camera (default with latest LOS)
Snap Camera HDR
OxygenOS Camera Port v8
Modded Google Camera (Tolyan009 6.2.030 TlnNeun v0.6d)
Whatsapp Camera
Facebook Camera
Instagram Camera
Telegram X Camera
Just today the litmus test: I've used ASR sound recorder with Camera Mic as default source, the result is the same while all the other microphone sources have worked properly.
I've attached a zip file with both incriminated sound and video recording, so you can hear what I've described.
