Question Android 13 changes - Google Pixel 6 Pro

Do youse think android 13 should fetch widgets back now Ios 16 has them years later. What other features and customisations do you think we should get?

What would you like to see added to widget functionality in Android 13?

Calculator and a few others probably a random list of things to choose from

There isn't a widget in the world that makes them worth using for me. I think they're all garbage.

5 things you want to see on Bada!

Hey there!
NOTE- IF THIS THREAD WAS NOT MEANT TO BE HERE, YOU ARE FREE TO MOVE IT ANYWHERE OR DELETE IT!
This thread is for me to know what features you want on the next version of Bada?
Here is mine:
Support for Android Apps
Free Voice Navigation
Voice commands
Overclocking Mod
A Better keyboards which can be skinned!
Tell me what do you want to see!
omg "Support for Android Apps" this is an awesome idea! Will this be possible? would be nice to hear what the devs tinking about it.
it's only that apps thing bada 2.0 seems to have everything i want...
Android apps supporting and Overclocking Mod
Better keyboards which can be skinned and android apps supporting
More useful apps
A better sound in 5.1 mode (bada 2.0 is bad, 1.2 was perfect)
No lags
Music recognition (not aviable in 2.0 beta ??)
More modifications with themes (not only wallpaper, icons and color of buttons..)
>> Support for Android Apps
Well, Bada is Bada, Android is Android. Both technically different. This is going to be never hapenning. If you want Android applications, use Android. Even if someone writes an compatibilty-layer, it will never be as if you'd be using Android.
Mine:
* More features for camera and foto-editor
* Ability to re-use apps already installed on SD after full flash
* Less battery usage (though it improved with each Beta, currently doing nothing sucks about 19% on mine, which would be 5 days, 2 days with real-life usage, which is 1 day more compared to all my IPhone-using friends)
* SHP by default
* Java apps in main menu
And what will you do with all those ideas Mr. bangalorerohan ?
For now it's just moaning, and giving false hope.
I like joel's ideas, and I have to say that the purple color in menu is awful.
I think, that we simply don't need Android apps, and porting Dalvik to Bada won't be possible in near future.
There is however one thing that I would like to se: any VOIP app, and of course Skype would be the best.

Chief, I just wanted to know what users are expecting! Just as simple as that! Maybe some DEV will have a look at his and comeout with all such features! The android port to bada also started like this! Ya' Know!
And regrading the Android App suppourt! I, myself, am a Android and Bada user. So, I think Android's got apps which maybe helpful to Bada. FOr example,
Titanium Backup(an app) can be used to backup all the apps while FW upgrades
Root Explorer can be used to access system files
Many android games are too cool and addictive
You can edit many photos with many photo-editing apps and all! You See!

Cm 14 nexus 5x

Hey is there any rom for nexus 5x with android version 7.0
Here are some of the features we expect from CM14 or Cyanogenmod 14
1. CM14 Multi-window Mode
Well, multitasking is the key feature that every user is looking for nowadays. And, CM14 is all set to enhance this feature by multi-window mode that will allow the users to run multiple apps at the same time on the screen. With this split screen feature, you can also drag and drop text in between apps, when required instead of typing the content all over again or copy/pasting either.
Multi-window mode CM14
The app developers have to add support for the split screen mode to make their apps compatible to use this feature on the all-new upcoming CM14 ROM. Users can open apps side by side and resize the app window using a slider and adjust it according to their preferences.
2. New System UI in CM14
Cyanogenmod 14 may follow Android N as it would introduce a completely new User Interface that will not include the famous app drawer. If not, then the latest ROM from Cyanogenmod may allow the option to switch between the two different UIs, one containing the app drawer and the other without it. Such UI are highly favoured and seen on iOS and MIUI devices.
3. CM14 will have a Better Optimized Battery Management
Battery optimization has been the concern for Android developers as well as the community at Cyanogenmod as Android devices are highly criticized for low battery life compared to iOS devices. However, CM14 is expected to enhance its battery optimization feature that would boost the battery life up to 20% with the Doze mode as seen on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Cynogenmod is already developing rom for nexus 5x
is there any news about this topic...... if you have plz comment
CM 14 is coming....
I'm going to start making CM 14 UNOFFICIAL for BULLHEAD expect it to be up very soon.. :fingers-crossed: :fingers-crossed:

Miui 9 exclusive features VS Lineage OS 15.1

Greetings to all I'm a first-time MIUI user and I would like to know if I switch to lineage OS what features from the MIUI system I'm going to lose. Only the exclusive one, i have identified one in particular which is that the phone turns on with an Alarm set on the stock Clock app.
Any other features that can't be replicated?
Which Lineage OS features would be nice to see in MIUI?
Please give some feedback as I'm a rom developer and want to know the approach I'll take for DTUX CORP ROM.
Thank you
Switching to lineage I would miss the gesture navigation only.
I would like the feature of swiping down on the finger print sensor to open notification shade in miui and Lineage

One question buddy
What features of MIUI are NOT present in Lineage OS?
I ask this because with project Treble, Lineage OS is running very stable even without the kernel source which is impressive and it might be easier to add to LineageOS what's missing from MIUI rather than adding more to the MIUI Heavy Skin
Lineage OS needs a stock camera port, then it would be perfect.
Two good things in MIUI that I look forward to be implemented in LOS are
1) Camera app
2) Gesture based navigation (It kinda grows with usage)
Currently in MIUI 9.5 leaked Stable. Ignoring the little amount of bloat, this version of MIUI looks rock solid.

How do you enable it?
The camera is the biggest problem. Without MIUI, only one camera sensor will work, and you lost the "AI" feature in MIUI camera. On my device, camera in Lineage OS is so bad that I give it up.

Ok! Got it, let's see how possible this camera app port could be.
How is Screen on time on Lineage OS? I always find posts from many devices saying its way less than stock. Can you share with us your personal findings on that aspect?
Thanks in advance

Interesting, with some more debloating it could be GOLD.

If the camera port comes thru then we'll all be on LOS, if not then a heavily debloated MIUI 9.5 should be the ideal thing.

I can not answer you for now because I have never had a phone with MIUI OS between the hands and the Redmi Note 5 Global will be my first phone with MIUI...and it did not even get shipped from China yet

I think that a heavily debloated MIUI with an app drawer and the ability to sort the apps alphabetically would be the best choice

i do agree on leaning towards debloated MIUI but we are gifted to have a device with Dual boot possible so we don't have to limit ourselfs
Ok! I made this thread to know the differences from other users experience, but, none voiced it properly so I had to do it myself...
MIUI over RR / LOS
-------------------------------
-Camera portrait mode / image quality
-Fm radio
-wake on fingerprint sensor touch without registering a finger.
-one hand mode
-native call recording
-more stable
-Miui Themes (personal preference)
RR / LOS over MIUI
-------------------------------
-EXTREMELY LIGHT AND CONFIGURABLE
-stock Android
-more compatible mods
-bloatware free!
Because of the first 3 items MIUI has over stock Android I went back to MIUI after a couple of days. It's better to debloat stock rather than losing important features.
To tell the truth as far as I have been using MIUI OREO Rom in my Note 5 AI just because of
1. Smooth full screen gesture.
2. Most important The Stock camera which can utilize the camera hardware fully.
3. The stability of battery backup.

yeah, but their rom for this device (China version) is still laggy so we need to wait longer.
Best feature of Miui : Data Usage (In Security Center)
And gestures (implemented in Android P).

Yes, I think it's the best thing to do
For camera you can try MIUI camera ported
Here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4347106&stc=1&d=1511995542
What i miss on miui is the volume dialog when casting to a chromecast or google home.
You can control cast volume but no volume dialog is shown so you can't change other volume sliders when casting or see the casting volume.

Paranoid android is back!!!! Can it be built for pixels?

I just checked out the aospa Twitter page and they are devices that are running the new version of paranoid Android. I am wondering if there are no maintainers for this device as we do not get it built for our devices I believe that it can be built off of source but I know that there compilation methods are abid difficult. Anybody want to take a stab at it and build this wonderful run for our devices. @slothdabski @calsurferpunk @kingbri
I would sport that puppy...

I read this on their gsi xda post
(NOT using A/B partitioning scheme (ie. A-Only)
Bummer
It's a device specific flag that can be set up to run on a/b devices... It's just a matter of someone picking up the project for our phones.. I do recall that back in the day the way to build it was different from other operating systems so maybe the setup was different and nobody here has that set up possibly? I'm trying to stay patient but I am currently running DU and is running phenomenally.. I do understand that paranoid Android is very barebone right now but the caf source makes it really good on battery low and stability. I recall way back and my Galaxy S2 days ... And this is just a great project. If anyone out there can build this for us you would be incredible

Paranoid Android was very cool in 2013, I used it on my SGS4 back then on Android 4.3. They had this engine where you could set the phone to tablet, phablet or phone mode and change DPI. You could even do this on a per-App basis! Very nice :good:
On top they had a plethora of setting - oh and they had this psychedelic design! E.g. for OTA updates (IIRC) they showed this one: https://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/nexusae0_lennon.jpg
But now, in 2019, what is special about PA?

Nothing really, a lot of the stuff that they Incorporated back in the day or something that comes native on Android nowadays.. PA Theme engine is somewhat redundant especially how it lets you theme per app basis somewhat like substratum can do... I don't see Halo coming back, and it wasn't back in the Android 7 or 8 builds of paranoid Android... I will say one of the things that they have going for them would be the caf base.. as I mentioned before it is extremely fluid and great on battery life.. ever since @molesarecoming left the dev scene for this operating system, it honestly seemed to have died as far as what features where available on this... I guess now it's good for nostalgia and stability as far as features go I don't see what they can offer that we don't already get with other options... I can't say this though, the battery life has always been good on these ROMs

Does Android 11 good for daily use now ?

What do you guys think about android 11 right now ?
Still too early or fine for daily use now ?
What's the most annoying bug you found ?
In case someone can recommend me some rom that met my requirements. I just need some basic stuff.
Must have
- Call recording
- FPS info
- Built in firewall
- Home screen apps protect and hide
- Vanilla Build
Extra bonus points, nice to have / not so important but cool if they got these feature
- Clipboard notification toast
- Built in screen recorder
- Signature spoofing
- Wakelock blocker
I am not into modification, so no comment about those, just need some features above.
So far based on android 10, my fav rom that have these function
-Havoc OS
-Crdroid
-Nusantara
Still waiting those roms get stable android 11
Impressed by android 11 privacy features :highfive:
The best with all those features have Evolution ROM for Android 10. They released the first Android 11 ROM this month so far it's good but it's lacking a lot of features so it will take time maybe 3-4 months to get a good stable any ROM with Android 11.
