LineageOS for Moto G60 & G40
About LineageOS
LineageOS is a free and open-source operating system for set-top boxes, smartphones and tablet computers, based on the Android mobile platform. It is the successor to the custom ROM CyanogenMod, from which it was forked in December 2016 when Cyanogen Inc. announced it was discontinuing development and shut down the infrastructure behind the project. Since Cyanogen Inc. retained the rights to the Cyanogen name, the project rebranded its fork as LineageOS.
LineageOS was officially launched on December 24, 2016, with the source code available on GitHub. Since that time, LineageOS development builds now cover more than 185 phone models with over 1.9 million active installs, having doubled its user base in the month February–March 2017 And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

Would it be possible to bring back the "Hello moto" startup?
Thanks a ton. I'm using it and already loving it. I wanted to build the ROM myself but could not gather enough courage or time to do so.
Please try to share the source code somewhere so that more ROMs can be developed

Sir, can you tell me if gyroscope is working in NEW STATE mobile as well as Apex legends Mobile?
It's working in other games like CODM and PUBGM/ BGMI but not on the other two.
It would be a great help if you can somehow check weather the gyroscope is working on "always on" setting in those 2 specific games.
If anyone is using this ROM can they please tell me if gyroscope is working on "always on" settings in New state mobile or Apex legends Mobile. Any of these two.
It's working in a few games only. I would love to switch to this ROM if gyroscope is working in those games.
Great word dev @Raghu varma, I am surprised to see a custom rom for this device. I'm gonna try this rom. Thanks for your hard work.

I haven't tried this rom yet, but i think gyroscope should work fine as this rom is using stock kernel.

What i wanted to check was if gyroscope is working in New state mobile/ Apex legends Mobile (gyroscope always on setting). As in stock ROM it doesn't work in those two games and some others. It works in Call of duty mobile/ Battle prime/ BGMI etc.
I don't know why it doesn't work in some games but that's what i wanted to know. It'll be a great help if you could possibly test this out.
Hey dev @Raghu varma is it possible to add moto camera is this rom and the pixel experience rom?

Then it's a bug in the game itself because "gyroscope always on" works fine in COD. Try sending bug report to the game dev. Although I'll let you know if it works in this rom or not when I'll install it but honestly I don't think its an OS related issue at all.

is this tested with g60s? thnks
Note - installation procedure changed to TWRP now. please read the main thread installation guide before proceeding.
Moreover please flash the recommended MindtheGApps package from my downloads page.
Changelog Thu Jun 9 13:05:59 UTC 2022

( this change won't be reflected on the rom but it will show the impact for safety net pass without root from the minute you boot the rom )

• fixed flashing GApps zip from TWRP.
Hi @Raghu varma , I tried all your builds (LineageOs, Pixel Exp, CherishOs) and found that double tap to wake doesn't work in any of them. Also lineageOs doesn't have face I'd under security settings. Apart from these, these Roms give better battery backup than stock ROM. I am loving these, hopefully I would like to see official lineage builds, but I know it doesn't matter if it is official or unofficial. Good work bro, keep going.

I don't think so
Manolo's build is already good, other than dt2w isn't working but can be fixed with flashing other kernel.
Question is, what significant differences are there?
Did or will manolo drop his PE and you aiming to replace?
Still, Good to see people still building pe roms and gapps builds.
Why???

His build has video recording broken, also his build is based on Los Device Tree and mine on Arrow Based. I have experienced roms based on Arrow device tree are smoother than the ones based on Los. Although this is my personal observation. I think he will drop PE with R releases but I have no plans for replacing him whatsoever.
I was busy with other stuff, so sorry for late reply
Note 8T
Overall feels much better than "official" release
Flashed over ResurrectionRemix with data wipe, everything seems good so far except for NFC module (greyed out in quick access menu, nowhere to be found in settings)
Is it just me and I have to do a clean flash or something with ROM? : )

Yes, I know exactly what's causing that. But unfortunately my exams are very near and there is no hotfix for this one. But will try my best to do another build with this thing fixed and will give you a smoother ui experience as compared to this one. Also november security patch is here, so I might do a build this weekend with the fixes.

Thanks for your kind and humble support . But only if it was possible. I just got into building roms and arguably this is the first rom that I compiled. I'm glad you all are liking it so far. As for eleven, either a new maintainer would step up, or the past one would improve theirs. And if none of them happen, I'm be still here to do that. We can't replace existing maintainer untill and unless he kangs stuff, else it'll be disrespectful for him/her.
I hope you understand.
Although since Android 11 is still new and in works, I'll release an EOL build with Android 10 which should fix the known issues.
the plus version when?
MichaelMay said:
I've built a few ROM's and as long as you keep your dev tree open and kernel stable going it's going to be fine. There are a lot of us that can help out with reviewing, adding and testing. I'm mainly doing C so my thing is mostly just backporting for kernel and making some new solutions.
My personal builds are based on your tree (from your github) but with a few changes that no one else will use anyway because users don't want to learn how to make a swap file on external memory or how to move caches from memory to disk when it isn't ever... ever... ever... used. A bit of that is resolved with the new PSI patches for 11 but that's for a later time.
You take care and trust me, I am nothing if not kind. My main concern originally with the PE dev was that he/she or her family was in trouble, as many are these days. I doubt he'd be "kanging" stuff (which to the best of my understanding is including things proclaiming them as your own in your commits rather than using the actual commits as are and then adding your own commit to fix them if need be). I think that when it comes to FLOSS programming and the Github system we all use we are honest about what we're doing.

I'm sorry just because I am seeing this one too late, was too busy with my school stuff. I just did another build for EOL and if everything goes fine, will release it asap. This time we have a big changelog coming.

I am doing this on my personal server. I can't afford to build two roms at the same time. I am doing PE because that's the one which gives the vanilla feel of a Pixel Device, so in conclusion I won't be able to do PE Plus anytime soon.
Thank you! Keep working

Hi there, first of all thanks for providing us stock android custom rom.
Yesterday I flashed pixel experience 12.1 to my Nokia 8 following installation guide, it's pretty good but Note that camera audio not recording properly neither built-in voice recorder is recording sounds.
Kindly guide me what to do?
Hi, I get an error when my nokia-8 (TA-1052) starts up. How can I fix it?

Hi, I've been a happy user of PixelExperience 11 for several month (first attempt of a non standard Android build for a daily use) and now trying to update to 12.
Can someone confirm that the T-virus 2.0 upgrade is necessary to install this build ? I can't find the answer here or on the intall guide on the PixelExperience website.

I have the same message on 11 so its not related to this version. It has never been an issue once the startup is completed for me, since last october. I discarded that as an tiny annoyance for having the guts to unlock the bootloader.

Then install PixelExperience_NB1-12.1-20220528-2114-OFFICIAL.zip with the PixelExperience recovey.

Well, thanks to your message I managed to skip another step
Since a recovery was always included with the rom I formerly flashed on my devices, I just flashed this one from TWRP 3.5.2 and it worked (also wiped internal, data and cache from TWRP to be sure).

No sound problem with the camera audio for me,. Regarding the built-in voice recorder, I had to select manually the correct device to use in the app parameter to make it work.
I have two complains about the camera app though. It is a bit slow and contrary to the one included on PE 11, I cannot select the storage, and thus my SD card, on this one. Except this, it seems to work pretty well.
I'll test the GPS and other stuff tomorrow and keep you updated.
Thanks for the great work on this rom @emufan4568
Edit 27/06/2022 :
Tested GPS, mobile data and calls today. General performance and battery drain were on par with PE11, very good.
Mobile data was stuck on HSDPA so I went to mobile data parameters to set it to "Global" instead of "GSM/WCDMA" to unlock LTE-A.
Is this camera lag also present when using GCam?

Right now, all NB1 ROMs are experiencing this issue unfortunately. But PE (I think) is the most stable one.
As a temporary solution, you can take pictures using Adobe Lightroom (works for me on CrDroid).
Ok, hopefully this will be fixed asap.
I'm using the camera app built-in the rom. I guess it's GCam.
With 3 more weeks of daily use I can complete my previous statement. The lag is not the main problem on my device as it only happens after a reboot. It's that the device stops saving pictures while displaying the shutter effect and all. If you don't shutdown your phone at night, you'll have to reboot it before you can take a picture. If you have to take several pictures, you'll have to reboot each 3 to 4 shots.
I'm installing Adobe Lightroom right now
I hope this will be fixed soon because this rom looks promising.
Last custom rom was on my Moto X 2nd gen but there was always something wrong.
Waiting for this lag to be fixed.
I forgot to ask but does Netflix and Google Pay work?

Newest update contains many camera related fixes. I'm not sure if it's completely fixed but from my testing the camera should be a lot more stable.

Google Pay I can confirm works just fine, I use it for transactions. Netflix I think does too, but has limited quality due to lack of widevine l1 (it gets lost when unlocking the bootloader on 90% of devices).

This bug should be fixed now, or at least that what my testers reported. Please install the current OTA and test as well

Thank you for answering. Nice that Gpay works. About Netflix, what does this mean, i don't need 4K quality but 720p streams would be nice.

Android Open Source Project for Moto G60 & G40
About AOSP
Android is an open source operating system for mobile devices and a corresponding open source project led by Google. This site and the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) repository offer the information and source code needed to create custom variants of the Android OS, port devices and accessories to the Android platform, and ensure devices meet the compatibility requirements that keep the Android ecosystem a healthy and stable environment for millions of users.
As an open source project, Android's goal is to avoid any central point of failure in which one industry player can restrict or control the innovations of any other player. To that end, Android is a full, production-quality operating system for consumer products, complete with customizable source code that can be ported to nearly any device and public documentation that is available to everyone.
Just as you can contribute code to AOSP, you can also contribute to AOSP documentation—and we want your input! Android's flexibility and ever-changing codebase means this site needs your feedback to keep content fresh, accurate, and relevant to Android implementors. We encourage you to check the changelog for details on recent AOSP updates and to report bugs or offer suggestions using the Site Feedback at the bottom of every page.

Just because you we able to enjoy Android 12 and now Android 13 you are great sir thank you very muxh
This is absolutely bananas!
And you sir, are a wizard.
Many thanks for this!
By the way, from the description, it looks very similar to the PixelExperience ROM. Is there any difference?
Also, I see VoLTE mentioned as working (as with all your other projects). Is VoWIFI (WiFi Calling) working, too? Cause that would be amazing!

Yes works perfectly!
Thank you for confirming! How about twrp? Which version should we use? Can we use Android 12/12L version?
Which recovery I have to use 11_or12/12L b'coz I m on stock11
Google removed the ability to use custom fonts in Android 12? Looks like Motorola decided to keep this feature (and I'm glad they did). But now I'm wondering, is there any way to bring that back with custom ROMs? Or any alternative methods to achieve the same effect (without rooting the device)?

You can use the 12/12L TWRP recovery to install this ROM. Tested, working fine.
Potential bug: when trying to restore the backup from Google, it gets stuck in the "Just a few moments" screen.
Screenshot below.
Update:
If anyone else encounters this issue, it looks like the problem is...permissions.
If you get the Google Play services error, you need to change settings according.
Basically this is what needs to be changed.
Alternatively, you can simply go to Settings > Apps > Google Play Services > Permissions, and allow permissions for Contacts, Phone and SMS.
After that, you can go back one step in the restore flow (in case it's stuck in loading) and try to restore again. This time, it should go through.

It's only been a couple of hours for me. But yeah, it's working great so far.
Ok, one thing that doesn't work so far: Google Pay (Wallet). Can't add new cards to it.
The ROM is not rooted. But...I think it's missing NFC.
@arsradu does this rom comes with Gapps ?

Yes, you only need to flash the ROM. No need for Gapps.
Something else I've noticed.
The camera app seems to be the default AOSP one (of course). Would be nice if it could be built with maybe Google Camera or Moto Camera... Just an idea.
I tried to install Google Camera from the Play Store, and it does install...but it keeps crashing.
I managed to install GCam from here though.

Haven't tried LineageOS on this phone. But....so far so good. I mean, battery life depends on a lot of factors. Screen brightness, games you play, apps you use, network signal...etc etc etc. So...it might be great for me and awful for you. Also, I haven't used the ROM long enough to get an accurate idea for the battery life.
I'm posting here as I'm discovering new things that either don't work, could be improved on, or just my thoughts using the ROM. Everything I found is already posted here. But battery...that might take a bit longer to determine. And as I said, it depends.

Yeah, I agree. Although I noticed that lineage os has a superior battery life under the same day-to-day conditions as compared to PixelExperience which is why I was concerned

Will it be official in the future?
It looks like you have worked on several projects in the past. This is a popular ROM and a very popular device so congrats. I hope you get official status, if you plan to go for it.
I hope this rom become official. If so, do you think it will be downloaded via an ota update ?
Waiting for it to appear on the official website of pixel experience

2. How about fastboot image?
3. How about recovery image?
4.1. How to flash custom rom (sideload)?
4.2. How to update custom rom?
Please don't quit development please
The only firmware that is so desirable for Poco F3
Tried that ROM. And noticed bug with Aperture app, that shows in every AOSP cusrom and every phone — that ****ty app shots photo only in 2.8 mp for main and ultra-wide camera for Alioth (on other phones it can change). And because of that, we can't take normal dosument scan in Google Drive and do photo notes in Google Keep — those apps use Standart camera app, and you can't choose which app you want to use, so, installing a third-party camera app doesn't solve that issue. Please check that crap 🫠

Let there be a Lake camera, but it works extremely poorly. Some modes didn't work, and in addition, there are no Xiaomi video streams in this firmware that could improve electronic stabilization.
Really love your latest build.
Two issues I've detected:
It's losing the saved fingerprint from time to time. At least once a Day. I can't really tell under which conditions. Sometimes after a restart of the phone. Sometimes during the normal use, when you want to unlock the phone.
Second: when headphones are connected via Bluetooth, videos played via tiktok or YouTube don't work fluent, don't give a sound or stop. Disconnecting the headphones everything works fluent.
I made a clean install twice. Nothing changed.
Besides this, everything works great, and really fast!!
