from what youve said, your trying to mirror your laptop to your phone ? is that correct ? you would need an app like teamviewer for that
however, if your trying to mirror your phone on your laptop, a little more information is needed, what version of windows are you running ? is your phone and laptop connected to the same network ? have you tried dex or phone link ?

Allshare just works on the local network. Allshare Play registers you through the internet and connects with all devices registered always which I assume means always connected because the services are running always.
I prefer simply allshare as it keeps access to my device local to just my home network. Using allshare play gives a third party "Samsung" complete access to my device or registered devices anytime which I'm not really cool with. Just 2 cents from a member of the 1st tinfoil brigade =)
Edit: Oops I didn't answer your question. So to get Allshare Play devices to all see each other you actually have to register them using the Samsung Allshare website. Login to your account, ect ect... there's a demo to show you what to do on it.
it looks like DLNA/Allshare is integrated with the phone. To access other devices media, open either Gallery or VideoPlayer and access nearby devices. Other DLNA devices should show up.
I have a Tab 8.9 and S3.
On the Tab, in AllShare, under settings you should see the device name for the Tab as a media server. You can select which content you share. In the main window you should see a list of local devices, including My Device and, presumably your S3.
On your S3, in AllShare Play, use the menu button and select nearby devices. Your Tab should show up in the list.

Ian
Hi guys,
Can someone help me? I have 4 tablets and only with Note 8, My shared PC's wifi doesnt work. I've created a Wifi hotspot in my PC (everyone can create too) and the same steps i did with other tablets, not work with Note 8. I dont know why...
Can someone help? Please... Why Note 8 is different?
Thanks in advance.
PS. if any operator delete my thread again, could you please say the reason mine was deleted? ty...
id guess it's bc the hotspot is adhoc and as far as I know, the note 8 doesn't support adhoc.

Is there a way to active it? I cant belive in 2013, a top tablet model doesnt have adhoc.
Ty in advance,
Ad-hoc by default is disabled in stock android, nothing to do with top tablet or not.Your other tablet manufacturers might have enabled it their devices.however ad-hoc networking has it's limitations as well as security implications for general users.
if you are in windows 7 or above you might be able to create a secire virtual miniport based hotspot/access point that your android can connect to.
or use third party ad hoc enabler apps on android or other computer apps to create wifi access point.
I ran out and bought a Google Chromecast, only to find out it required one of those devices. I found it odd that nowhere in the commercial did it specify that. It's what I get for rushing out to buy something, I suppose. Got my money back for it, though.
Does Fire TV require a laptop / tablet / smartphone? If this is already posted somewhere in the forum or on another site, a link would be great. I did a quick google search and didn't really find anything right off the bat.
EDIT: In case it wasn't clear, I am wondering if I can stream / mirror media from my Desktop, instead of a smartphone / tablet / laptop.
Thanks, a potential Fire TV consumer.
Really, you come to this forum and you have no idea what a chromecast does?

Short answer is no. The Fire TV can exist as a semi-standalone media device connected to your TV. The only thing required is an internet connection/display.

Well, I do now. I bought one , you see, and I realized you MUST have a smartphone - tablet - laptop to stream.
Hence why I came here, a forum (where questions are frequently asked), to ask whether or not the Fire TV needs one of those devices.

Ugh, I am sorry man. You are saying no, but then you are saying all you need is a connection, which I have. So I'm set to get an FTV? Sorry, I am just trying to be sure.
And thanks for the non-Jackass response.

Sorry I wasn't clear. No, an external tablet/phone/computer is not required, just a display and a net connection.

Hi, so I am handcuffed by my work to use an iphone. I couldn't stand the apple watch, so finally upgraded to to the Galaxy watch. I love this watch. Disappointed at the limited apps available, which i understand fully. I am curious if there is a way to sideload these apps? Particularly the myroundpro watch app.
Really appreciate any feedback.

I'm not sure sideloading is the answer. I know that's the question that was asked but the application he mentioned is on the galaxy wearable store and has an iOS companion app on the iOS app store. That's why I asked my questions above. What exactly is he trying to resolve by sideloading? It doesn't make sense.
I didn't go in depth but once you connect you have to root then a little easier tinzen has dev exe to Port apps on dev website I've been trying to do with Spotify lite made for gear not Samsung 2nd B's market we get non-samsung owners
i wasn't trying to be a [email protected]@@, but ive ported and signed different apps on my watch this thread will help multiple links to tinzen dev and it works look at post #53 we need all the help we can on watch https://forum.xda-developers.com/sm.../questions-sideloading-apps-tweaking-t3917082 hope this helps if not ill try to help if i can

I bought a phone off Ebay & everything was working just fine till I did a factory reset. Now, it’s stuck in demo mode. I can’t even power it off cause it asks me for some kind of code. Can you help me plz?
Ugh. The only thing that I saw was this post about the TCL 10 Pro in a similar mode:
TCL 10 Pro demo remove?
Any update on this would be great facing the same issue...

Try this:
An app called Demo will appear in your apps. Locate and open the app. Click Ok,
and then Activate. The password for TCL is 852618. After you enter the password
it will say switching to the owner. Once done loading, simply click exit in the top
corner or close the app.
I don't know if the same code works for all TCL 20 Pro phones, but you can try it out anyways.

I just bought one of these to replace a Galaxy S8 that had outlived it's usefulness. This post may save me plenty of hassle in the future *saves post*.
