I attempted to do a factory reset thinking that the system would automatically revert back to EMUI from Harmony OS. Apparently that was a big mistake because once I get to the last step after connecting to Wifi it keeps saying "Unable to connect to the server, tap to try again." I'm completely stuck and lost. Some help and insight would be greatly appreciated.
I also have photos of every step setup takes me through if anyone needs visuals. Once again, much thanks

Unfortunately not yet. I took my phone to a repair shop this morning and they were baffled with the scenario. They said they've never seen a phone get stuck on the final setup screen.
What about you, any luck? I can't find anything related to our particular situation when searching Google.
This problem can be solved by HCU utitlity (https://hcu-client.com/category/tutorials/).
It is paid.
Need unlock bootloader to recover factory Andoid version.
All phone requests are blocked on Huawei servers - therefore, VPN will not help here..
I also took it to the repair shop - and so and so to pay, but there is no alternative to this device yet.

Thanks. Which one did you buy, EMUI 11 repair?
As I understand it, this is the version that came in the box (Android 9)...
If it remains after installation Harmony OS.
I don’t remember the version EMUI...

Hello,
I've done an update while my HOX was charging, it took around 2 hours but at the end phone turned on. BUT since then when I try to launch almost every app, phone restarts. Even when I try to change my ringtone phone does the same. I did a "Factory Reset" several times, it didn't help, I uninstalled all the apps, which I downloaded, made a factory reset, didn't help. I entered safe mode, but still have the same problem. So now I can't enjoy the phone, that is very pity. Software info: Android 4.0.3, HTC Sense 4.0, Software number 1.28.401.9.
I'm a rookie in whole android issue, so I'd be very thankful for your help.
I contacted an HTC service but they couldn't help me, they suggested to send it to a lab. Is there any other solution?
Thank you in advance

Send it in to the lab.
The problem is that, I live in Israel and HTC doesn't have lab here. They suggested me to send it to Greece, I'm not too happy with this option. Maybe I can downgrade the current software? Or any other possibility.
Thanks,

No, the only way you're going to Downgrade your software or Just install a different ROM, is by rooting it.
This Voids your warranty, so do your research first.
If you're not comfortable with that you might aswell just send it to HTC.
Can you, please, give me some references about how am I doing the rooting?
Thanks,
You could download the RUU for your current software version and try running that to reinstall it; the phone is not meant to be charging while you install an OTA update so it's possible something hasn't copied correctly because of that.

You can find all released RUUs here (the links in the first post are pretty slow, but there are faster mirrors scattered throughout the thread). Make sure you download the one that matches your version.
Installation steps? Plug your phone into your computer via USB and run the .exe file. It'll take you through everything else.
Thank you very much. I hope it'll help...
i have a Z1 compact .. it was working properly and all of a sudden it restarted itself and i got a message that the homepage is not available and i can't unlock the screen. i used the small off button to force it to shut down and then start it again, it started but with the same problem; i can't unlock the screen to access the phone and i don't have network either!! ever since it keeps on restarting itself automatically every few minutes! the Sony support website said it might be related to network problems or SIM card problems, i contacted my network provider and they keep on telling me that's a mobile phone problem!! i used to be kitkat and upgraded to lollipop a week ago, could that be part of the problem?!
i appreciate any feedback on the matter as i can't access my phone completely!!
thank you.

That's kind of vague... Is your phone stock? How did you upgrade, official or unofficial? Do you have important data on the phone you don't want to lose? If not, you could reflash, either with Flashtool or official Sony method.

Well, that would seem like it wasn't your fault, but it might be difficult to get them to help you without paying for it. You could try contacting Sony and see what they say. You also could see if you can get ADB shell on your computer, and copy files from terminal, then reflash, (if you have ADB installed).

looks like i have no choice but contacting the Sony people!! i can't either get it to hard reset, it just freezes when it starts and then restarts in a couple of minutes!! thank you for your feedback, appreciate it.
So, my phone reset itself randomly today and I noticed it was unable to turn on Wi-Fi for some reason. I uninstalled an app I've had for a long time called Power Toggles as I know it also can turn on/off the Wi-Fi (to make sure the phone and it weren't fighting) and I got the idea to check the root using Root Checker. Turns out, it failed . . . So something funny is going on.
I have not knowingly taken any type of update but every once in a while, my phone has tried to update and then said it aborted it due to suspected root. Not sure if that's what happened this time around as it happened while it was in my pocket (or at least it was working before I put it away and then later on, it basically stopped working and just seems to continuously reboot for funsies).
I tried rooting my phone using Kingoroot, an LG one click method (both script and GUI) with no luck. I've never had trouble rooting my phone, especially with one click roots before! I reinstalled LG drivers, disabled and re-enabled USB debugger, switched between MTP and PTP connections, etc. I can't seem to get it to recognize the phone. When doing one root method though, it reminded me to accept the RSA fingerprint and I realized that my phone is not asking me for the RSA fingerprint for my computer. I even tried revoking previous fingerprints and no luck there either. So I'm not sure what might be repressing that option but I'm assuming that's the "root" of my rooting issue.
Anyway, does anyone know
a) why my phone would suddenly be acting this way (I think I read someone else had similar symptoms in one of the one click root forums. Tried searching for more mentions but the website seems to be halting and letting me know the issue has been sent to administrators or something to that effect).
b) how do I solve this?
Below is what I'm running:
Android Version
5.0.1
Kernal Version:
3.4.0
Build Number:
LRX21Y
Software Version:
D85021I
Security Software Version:
MDF v1.1 Release 2
I have a TWRP backup made from quite a while ago (possibly a year ago) so i can try and utilize that but I'm not sure if that will do me any good if I can't root my phone first. I don't want to do anything out of desperation that's going to put me into more trouble down the road. At least as of now, my phone boots up correctly (even if it does seem to reset fairly regularly and has a constant battery drain from trying to turn on the wifi).
Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully, I won't just have to buy a new phone . . . Thanks in advance!
Turns out Bluetooth no longer works either. Just thought that might be worth mentioning.

Well ok, you have that TWRP backup, how about accessing TWRP?
Can you enter recovery?
Does it display your IMEI in system settings, what does it do when you try to enable wifi?
Can you make backup of your current ROM in TWRP, then try to restore the old one, try restoring only system partition if the backup was made on same Android Lollipop 5.0.1. ?
Well, I was able to get into recovery and run an old image but it appears to have the same issue. My IMEI is fine (I did a full backup including IMEI but it had a valid IMEI before as well) so that wasn't the issue. Looking at that other thread someone posted, it looks like my phone is just screwed and this is a well known issue. It looks like people were able to fix it by replacing the motherboard, which is obviously not an option for me. If that's the case, I'm guessing this is my first and last LG phone. I've never had this kind of issue with a Samsung. In fact, I'm now back on an old S4 until I can figure out what to do. Not sure what phone to get at this point.
Natus, to answer your question, the Wi-Fi icon just kinda goes in a loop like it's trying to start it up. Opening up the Wi-Fi menu has it say it's starting up the Wi-Fi but never gets there. Unfortunately, it eats up battery fast, heats it up quickly, and eventually restarts.
I'm open to any other ideas but I'm guessing it's a hardware problem at this point. Thanks for the info, everyone! I do appreciate the help!
If you have any suggestions for a new phone, I'm all ears. Trying to stay out of a payment plan so I'm looking at the Nexus 6P but I'm wondering if there's one coming down the pipeline I might want to hold off for. I'd rather buy directly from the manufacturer than go through AT&T, given the option. Might need to start a new thread for that one though . . . Thanks!

I'd wait for note 7 or even iphone 7 =]
Hi everyone,
So my Verizon G4 VS986 recently had a bootloop issue and was sent in to LG to fix the phone. They sent it back and what they said they did was to replace the flash memory. Obviously the phone has been reset and all my data is wiped as warned before I sent the phone in. The phone now boots up but I'm stuck at verify your account. I logged in to my google account on this phone and after two step verification was a success, I still cannot move forward and am stuck at the verify your account.
I looked into this issue online and found that this is part of the Factory Reset Protection built into 5.1. In either case, I did not change my password to my google account at all, it is still the same password, so the 72 hour wait rule shouldn't apply here at all. I also can't bypass the protection either since some of the methods require that you go into the Accessibility as seen here through this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/tut-bypass-lg-lock-google-account-t3223518 . My issue is that that Accessibility menu is not present on the initial screen, only language and moving forward.
So what are my options now? Contact LG about my issue or is there a way I can contact Google? Is it possible that the original account information is stored on the flash memory which LG replaced and now the account I need to log in is of some different user? If that's the case, am I forever stuck on this screen and this phone is effectively dead? Or is there something I can do that I haven't discovered yet? If anyone could help, it'd be a great help, thank you.

Since no one has the answer, I'll chime in on my resolution. Call LG, send the phone back in, and they will get it fixed. In my case, they changed the motherboard this time, not only the flash memory. After that, no more verify your account issues. Still was in warranty, not sure if you get a bootloop out of warranty would they still fix it without charging you.
Hi
I have a problem rooting my phone.
Thing is that it is my company phone which is supervised by snowsoftware.
We are allowed to use it as an private phone aswell but since it is able to track like everything I do... You know...
Anyway, I've tried to do a factory reset but when I restart it afterwards it still wants me to log into snow before moving on...
I have also used Odin with Albvirals firmware and combination files with same result!
Is there anyway to get rid of this annoying software with some kind of deeper operation?
I hopte that some of you expert can help me!
