As Oneplus won't fix this and the 7T can be subject to the same fate like the 3T(kernel 3.18 can't boot! android 12). So what would be needed to boot kernel version +5.0 for longevity? What would be needed to do this? Do we need a bounty?
Hi, I don't know anything about this topic, but I'm interested in this issue. Could you please add a reference to the problem description? Is there an exchange with Oneplus on this? What would be needed to fix this? Is it an issue with all phones 7/7T/7T Pro? Thanks!

You may be wondering why these devices haven't received Lollipop yet. The issue is, yet again, the MT8389 processor, which is based off of the MT6589.
I.nfraR.ed posted yesterday on the main CyanogenMod on MTK devices thread:
I.nfraR.ed said:
Do you see anyone working on CM for 6589? Most of the people moved to other chipsets.
Maybe chrmhoffmann and DerTeufel are still working on this, but I don't know anyone else who has not moved to newer device.
I have moved to Redmi Note 2.
For lollipop there's no mt6589 source and although it might be possible, it would be enormous amount of work. I don't have so much free time and have a full-time job after all.
I can't leave my regular job just to work on side projects.
So, no...unless someone else is on to development for Lenovo A820/A830, then don't expect fully working CM or ROMs based on Android 5+.
If for some reason I leave my regular job and have some "free" months, then I will be able to work on this project, because I still have my A820 with me. Not likely to happen.
My KK kernel is public, so anyone can continue from where I left.

Development support for the MT6589 has been (mostly) lost, and consequently, so has support for the MT8389. This means that, until a compatible kernel for 5.x.x appears, the likelihood of both of the devices being upgraded to CM12 or 5.x.x is very low.
That doesn't mean it's not possible, however; simply unlikely.
According to the specs the A3000 has a MT8125. Is support for this also gone?

Yes, I'm afraid this is the Wi-Fi only version of the MT8389.
I was on it..but moved to another..not at all able to boot it up..now there is a hope because of 3.4.67 kernel..again working on it???
CM12+ for A3000-H
Looking forward to CM12+ on our beloved A3000-H:highfive:
Hi guys, I have just finished doing my A3300 with Cyan's 5.1.1, all is working except for camera
Hello guys,
I know there is maybe some similar threads but I need a clear answer to the question in the title because I'm confused now
If it's possible, can you redirected me to some guides which explain how to get Treble working ? It would be very helpful for me to port AOSP on my Note8.
I know that devs already done that for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 that's why I am searching to try to do the same for my device.
Thanks in advance

Don't this this is possible without doing some major changes.
This post here gives a pretty good explanation:

It would require a partition change on your Note 8 which would completely wipe your device... I don't believe ANY OEM will do this as there would be too much of a hue and outcry from the regular - non XDA - users who suddenly lost everything in the update that gave them treble.
Also, most people wouldn't know what the heck you're talking about if you mentioned it so it is not to their economic advantage to give us treble on the Note 8.
I know many people who don't update to the latest and greatest simply because they don't know the difference...

then you should actually be able to do it like the one plus 5
you would have to repartition it. ....

Hi guys thanks for your replies I will try to investigate if I can reproduce the same for my Note 8
Cheers

And Oneplus just pushed Official Treble support over OTA without need to wipe data.

Oneplus 5T had an empty partition that wasn't formatted. It had been found a while ago and utiilised by devs to bring unofficial treble to the 5 and 5T.
This partition has now been used by Oneplus to enable Treble on these devices.
It's highly unlikely Samsung have done this but that would need to be checked...
Anyone out there found an unformatted partition?

For the Note8 as far as I know nobody has found such a partition.
However I found something interesting : https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/tree/master/no-vendor
A solution to port Treble support without having to repartition the device

First off shoutouts to all the devs here who have worked hard on their own or preferred custom roms.
Just curious to know why no one hasnt or no longer interested in having ParanoidAndroid on the 7T?
I reached out to them myself as they released their Quartz 5 and preparing for Android 11 and was surprised they not only responded back, but their response itself.
I appreciate any insight from any devs and before I get the sarcastic "well why don't you do it"... I wish I was as talented and awesome as you guys with a speck of knowledge like yall.
Thanks everyone
I agree, it's a shame that Paranoid Android isn't able to get any developers or moderators to help port it over. PA is, next to stock Oxygen OS, my favorite ROM.
It doesn't help that the 7T partition system makes it difficult to even get an "official" TWP installed (there is an unofficial version you can install but from what I've read, there are still a few minor issues with it). If an official TWRP happened, you'd likely see much more development for the 7T. Mad props to mauronofrio for all of the work he's done for the 7T. His All-in-one tool is awesome.

Yes indeed but it's not the Android 10 partition system on the 7t which is causing the issue. It's the fact that OnePlus won't fix the broken decryption on the 7t. Oneplus need to fix the issue then twrp will come. But they don't seem to be interested in supporting devices just churning out new ones.
Hey guys, I'm one of the people suffering with the touch screen bug after the latest update. I haven't found any resolutions so far in any of the other forums. Does anyone here found a resolution to the touch screen software bug other then restarting the device constantly ?
I was also thinking to downgrade the OS version but I havent found any guides...
You can't downgrade Xiaomi devices.
But maybe resetting the device may solve it? If not then flash the ROM manually or flash a custom ROM.
Hi, thanks for the reply. This bug has been documented very well and from the users who have tested it I understand resetting device to factory settings does not solve the issue. the version is where this bug has been introduced is MIUI 12.1.2
Do we have anyone who can point me to the original ROM the device comes with ? and possibly a flash guide, I would be very grateful?

If resetting doesn't solve it then flash a different ROM. Again, you can't flash older version of MIUI or you will hard-brick your device.
As for guides you can find plenty here on the forums or from the internet, search it up.
Goodluck.
Xiaomi admits that there are some touch screen issues on Mi 10T series https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-11-ultra-touch-response-problems/amp/ and is working on a fix.
So I've searched a bit and am curious, is there a way I can tun decrypted on this device? I know with other OnePlus devices a No-Verity mod is needed but I haven't seen it anywhere. My main concern is the state of Twrp and I want it to see internal storage this way I can keep mods and things through updates.
If you know of a No-Verity mod for the OnePlus 9 Pro please help me out!
Well, well well.... lol
You'll need the trick with TWRP, you know, like before flashing the custom drivers. Also, come to Telegram PM, I'll share the file you need and explain to you what to do.
